Speaking Characteristic by distinctive pronunciations


Vocabulary, intent, participants and grammatical structures.

5 speaking Styles
-Intimate
-Casual
-Consultative
-Formal
-Frozen

Intimate
Between people who are very close and know each other well.
- Deep connection. (High Incidence of significant nonverbal communication.)

Casual
Communication between friends and insider who have something to share
background. (Closely connected to social interaction)
- Easy and free participation for both speakers and listener.
- It used Trendy words and Phrases.
- (Pronoun, grammar, and choice of words are less important)

Consultative
The speaker Observes the listeners verbal and nonverbal cues. (Professional form of
speaking)

- (Unplanned speech and less appropriate writing)


- The speaker chooses words carefully and speak complete sentence.
Formal
Presented to be presented in complete sentences with specific words.
- Elaborate sentences, well-structured and strongly coherent.
- Latinism and Natural English.
Ex:
- The speaker plans the speech or utterances well in advance.
- The speaker provides all the background information that he or she
thinks the listeners needs.

Ex: Job interview, reports, meetings an, etc.

Frozen
Fixed speech (FROZEN) in time and in content.
- It uses Complex grammatical sentence structure and vocabulary
(Known only in particular field)
- Reflection the efforts of revision.
Ex: Panatang makabayan, Law, and public speaking

Regulation & Control


Control the behaviour of human being.
Ex.
- Focus on your goal!
- Do not allow your fear to stop you.

Social Interaction
Any Human activity involving creating connection.
Ex.
- Proposal. Ex. “Would you like some coffee?”
- Encouragement. Ex. “You got this.”
- I am here to support you.
Motivation
Express desire, needs, wants, likes, and dislike. (Aspiration)
Ex.
- Statement of Encouragement.
- “I want you more.”
- I need some time.

Information
Enable human to get to know the world.
(To ask to give Information) Give and take.
Ex.
- What is your name?
- Do you know?
- Did you know?

Emotional expression
Human expression of their emotion.
Ex.
- I am afraid.
- I am thrilled to see you again.
- I am so excited.
