Building A PC

The document provides step-by-step instructions for building a PC. It explains how to install the crucial components like the motherboard, CPU, RAM, storage, GPU, and power supply. The instructions describe how to properly place each component, such as inserting the CPU into the motherboard socket, toggling RAM slots, plugging in the SSD, and inserting the GPU. The final step is to assemble the components into the PC case.

To start, make sure you take off any
The motherboard metal wearables and wear an anti-static
band to protect you from static shocks.
Place it on a non-metal base.
The motherboard is the most crucial part of
a computer. The motherboard connects all The motherboard Im gonna use is called
the components together and makes them the X570.
function. Every single part of a computer is
connected to the motherboard, even the
fans!

The different components that are

connected to a motherboard are the
following

-CPU
-RAM
-Storage
-GPU(depends)
-Power Supply(PSU)

CPU

The CPU(central processing unit) is the brain of a

PC. It calculates and processes everything. Every
cpu has a socket. A socket specifies on what
motherboards this cpu is compatible with.

Some CPUs have integrated graphics processing

unit called integrated graphics. This will render
and display everything on the monitor. Some CPUs For this Pc we are going to use the
don't have integrated graphics, these cpus will Ryzen 9 3950x which HAS AN am4
function but will not display anything. These CPUs socket.
require a separate dedicated GPU.
Open the lever and cover. Then, gently
place the cpu onto the motherboard
socket (which is shown above) until it
locks in. Lower the lever on the side to
lock it in. The cover will pop off. You will
not be needing this.
RAM(random access
memory)
The RAM stores all the processes currently being
worked on . Having more ram will allow you to
work on different things at the same time.

There are different types of ram ranging from

DDR1,DDR2, and DDR3, these types are really old
and usually slow. The newer types are DDR4 and Most motherboards nowadays
DDR5 which are newer and fast(depending on have 2 or 4 ram slots on the side of
megahertz). the cpu(For quick access).

To insert the ram, toggle the little

levers on the side of the slots.
Align the whole on the between
the connectors of the ram with the
line on the motherboard. The
insert it until it clicks and your
good to go.
Storage

The storage of a PC stores all the data it contains.

Storage lasts for a long time compared to RAM
which stores it temporarily. The 2 types of Storage
are HDD(Hard Disk Drive) and SSD( Solid State
Drive). SSDs are usually faster than HDDs

Unscrew the heatsink and plug in

the ssd into the receiver, press
down on it then screw a screw on
the other side to set it in. Rescrew
the heatsink back in.
GPU(graphics processing
unit)
A GPU is a component that renders images and
displays the images on to the screen. Not all
computers need or have a dedicated GPU. If the
CPU of a computer has an integrated GPU within,
it will work just fine. Although a dedicated GPU is
usually much better but also much more
expensive.

Dedicated GPUs are usually in PCs designed for

gaming to add more FPS(frames per second) to the
game. This will make a game smoother to play.
Integrated graphics is less powerful so it gives less
frames per second than a dedicated GPU.
To insert the gpu, simply insert the highlighted blue part
ingot the highlighted red part until it clicks.
PSU(Power Supply Unit) PC case
The power supply is connected to the electricity The last and final part is the pc case which
and is the main source of power which powers the holds all the components. Follow the pc
whole computer. case manual and insert the motherboard
into the pc case.
Insert the power supply into your PC case and plug
in all the necessary cables. Insert the gpu mount onto the side of the
case if you have a dedicated GPU.

If you have a dedicated GPU plug the

display or HDMI cable into your gpu and
plug that into your monitor. If you dont
have a dedicated gpu, plug your cable into
your motherboard cause that’s where the
gpu would be located since its in your cpu.

Lastly plug in all you peripherals and get

going!
