Introduction: Weather forecasting is the application of science and technology to predict the
conditions of the atmosphere for a given location and time.

Human beings have attempted to predict the weather informally

for millennia and formally since the 19th century. Weather forecasts are made by collecting
quantitative data about the current state of the atmosphere at a given place and using meteorology to
project how the atmosphere will change.

Once a human-only endeavor based mainly upon changes in barometric pressure, current weather
conditions, and sky condition or cloud cover, weather forecasting now relies on computer-based
models that take many atmospheric factors into account. Human input is still required to pick the
best possible forecast model to base the forecast upon, which involves pattern recognition skills,
tele-connections, knowledge of model performance, and knowledge of model biases. The
inaccuracy of forecasting is due to the chaotic nature of the atmosphere, the massive computational
power required to solve the equations that describe the atmosphere, the error involved in measuring
the initial conditions, and an incomplete understanding of atmospheric processes. Hence, forecasts
become less accurate as the difference between current time and the time for which the forecast is
being made (the range of the forecast) increases. The use of ensembles and model consensus help
narrow the error and pick the most likely outcome.

There are a variety of end uses to weather forecasts. Weather warnings are important forecasts
because they are used to protect life and property. Forecasts based on temperature and precipitation

are important to agriculture, and therefore to traders within commodity markets.

Temperature forecasts are used by utility companies to estimate demand over coming days. On an
everyday basis, people use weather forecasts to determine what to wear on a given day. Since
outdoor activities are severely curtailed by heavy rain, snow and wind chill, forecasts can be used to
plan activities around these events, and to plan ahead and survive them. In 2009, the US spent $5.1
billion on weather forecasting.

Purpose: The purpose of developing weather app is to fetch the data in the need of taking
information about weather worldwide. Another purpose for developing this software is to generate
the report automatically at the end of the session or in the between of the session.

Scope: The scope of the project is the system on which the software is installed, i.e. the project is
developed as a desktop application, and it will work for a particular institute or organization. But

later on the project can be modified to operate it online.
The intention of developing weather app is to fetch the data in the need of taking information about
weather worldwide. Another purpose for developing this software is to generate the report
automatically at the end of the session or in the between of the session or in the between of the
session as they require. This project is basically a desktop application which means 3 self-contained
software runs on which it has been installed under the user control

System Analysis:

Analysis can be defined as breaking up of any whole so as to find out their nature, function etc. It
defines design as to make preliminary sketches of; to sketch a pattern or outline for plan. To plan
and carry out especially by artistic arrangement or in a skilful wall. System analysis and design can
be characterized as a set of techniques and processes, a community of interests, a culture and an
intellectual orientation.

Identification Of Need:
System analysis is a process of gathering and interpreting facts, diagnosing problems and the
information to recommend improvements on the system. It is a problem solving activity that
requires intensive communication between the system users and system developers. System analysis
or study is an important phase of any system development process. The system is studies to the
minutest detail and analyzed. The system analyst plays the role of the interrogator and dwells deep
into the working of the present system. The System is viewed as a whole and the input to the system
are identified. The outputs from the organization are traced to the various processes. System
analysis is concerned with becoming aware of the problem, identifying the relevant and Decisional
variables, analysis and synthesizing the various factors and determining an optimal or at least a
satisfactory solution or program of action.
