Opamprealization

This document is a report submitted by Phurba Tshering Sherpa to Dr. Diwakar Bista about control system design using MATLAB. It includes simulations and analyses of a system using its transfer function and state space models. The system was found to have four poles in the left half plane, indicating stability. Step and impulse responses were generated in MATLAB and Simulink, showing an underdamped but stable response. State space representations provided insights into how the system's states and inputs relate to each other and the output.

Ans: Looking at the denominator of G(s) the roots of denominator are same as poles of the system
and have four values with 2 complex conjugate because highest order of the system is 4 and all lie
in left half plane.

The simulation are performed in proteus and Simulink. Both results shows similar characteristics
as the graph below. The proteus graph is obtained from the op amp realization while the other is
obtained from direct transfer function in Simulink.

Ans: The original denominator of G(S) is also the pole of the system so the roots obtained are
also the poles the system. They all lie in left hand side suggesting they are stable.

Seeing the above responses it can be seen the system is somewhat stable as input response and
have underdamped response and remains steady without oscillation. The system has a rise time of
2.36 second and settling time of 4.21 seconds when subjected to step response with peak amplitude
0.812 at 1.1 seconds with impulse response.

Ans: Matrix A is the state matrix which determines the influence of different state variables. It is
4*4 matrix denoting there are 4 different state variables.
Matrix B is Input matrix which denotes input influence on state equation.
Matrix C is the output matrix which denotes the system factor of the output affected by the state.
Matrix D is direct transmission matrix that represents the direct effect of the input in the system.

State space form helps us to represent the system in mathematical form giving us information about
functionality of the particular system. This state space helps us to model the desired system in any
form and study the behavior of the system. It is applicable for nonlinear system and makes us
easier to understand the behavior of the system.

Looking at both graphs we see small oscillating behavior at transient response but it tends to steady
state. And the system seems to be stable from above graph analysis.
