I. SOP In case of Fire

Step 1.
In case of a fire, go to the Fire Alarm Panel and click on the “Buzzer Silence” button to acknowledge the fire
and silence the sounders and internal buzzers.

Step 2.
Click on the “Alarms” button on the display to check the list of alarms in the panel. Use the up/down arrow
keys to bring the respective alarm (in case of multiple alarms present in the panel) to the top of the list and
click on the enter button

Step 3.
Once the alarm is selected, click on the “Site information” button on the panel to check the location and other
details of the panel. Click on the “Additional Information” button on the panel to check the type of alarm
(smoke/heat/simulated), date and time of the alarm etc.

Step 4.
After all the required details are gathered, go to the respective location in the field and understand the situation
and take necessary actions to prevent the fire.

Step 5.
Once the situation is under control, click on the “Access Code” button on the panel and input the access code
for the panel using the numerical keypad. Click on the “Enter” button on the panel once the access code is
provided. If the access code is correct, the LED near the Access Code button will be active and a message will
be displayed on the panel saying “Access changed from 1 to x” (“x” being the level of access programed into
the panel for the provided access code).

Step 6.
After the access code is activated in the panel, click on the “Reset Alarm/System” to reset the complete
system. This should reset alarm and bring the system to normal condition.

Step 7.
If there are still more alarms on the panel display, repeat the whole process until all the alarms are cleared.
II. SOP In case of Fault

Step 1.
In case of a fault, go to the Fire Alarm Panel and click on the “Buzzer Silence” button to acknowledge the
fault and silence the internal buzzers.

Step 2.
Click on the “faults” button on the display to check the list of faults in the panel. Use the up/down arrow keys
to bring the respective fault (in case of multiple faults present in the panel) to the top of the list and click on
the enter button

Step 3.
Once the fault is selected, click on the “Site information” button on the panel to check the location and other
details of the panel. Click on the “Additional Information” button on the panel to check the type of fault (open
circuit/short circuit/simulated), date and time of the fault etc.

Step 4.
After all the required details are gathered, go to the respective location in the field and rectify the fault with
the information gathered from the panel and situation at the field.

Step 5.
Once the fault is cleared or attended, click on the “Access Code” button on the panel and input the access code
for the panel using the numerical keypad. Click on the “Enter” button on the panel once the access code is
provided. If the access code is correct, the LED near the Access Code button will be active and a message will
be displayed on the panel saying “Access changed from 1 to x” (x being the level of access programed into the
panel for the provided access code).

Step 6.
After the access code is activated in the panel, click on the “Reset Alarm/System” to reset the complete
system. This should reset fault and bring the system to normal condition.

Step 7.
If there are still more faults on the panel display, repeat the whole process until all the faults are cleared.
III. SOP to disable a device

Step 1.
Click on the “Access Code” button on the panel and input the access code for the panel using the numerical
keypad. Click on the “Enter” button on the panel once the access code is provided. If the access code is
correct, the LED near the Access Code button will be active and a message will be displayed on the panel
saying “Access changed from 1 to x” (x being the level of access programed into the panel for the provided
access code).

Step 2.
In order to disable a device, the first step is to input the device details into the panel. There are mainly 4 type
devices

1. Detector zone (contains detectors, MCPs and inputs programmed as Detectors


2. Outputs (Relays, sounders flashers etc.)
3. Inputs
4. Loops
If a detector zone, input or output is required, click on the respective button on the panel display. If any other
type of device is required (loop, external, SCU, printer etc.), click on the “Other Element” button on the panel
and select the required type of device using the up/down arrow and the “enter” button.

Once the type of device is selected, input the device no (in the format given below) using the numerical
keypad on the panel and click the “Enter” button.

For Detector Zone: Zone No/Detector no


For Input: Input no
For Output: Output no
For Loop: Loop no
For SCU: SCU no
For Printer: Printer no

Step 3.
Once the type of device is selected and the device no is typed in using the keypad, click on the “Enter” button
to select the device. This will prompt the panel to display the current status (Idle, Alarm, fault or Off) of the
selected device.

Step 4.
After the device is selected, click on the “Off” button on the panel to disable the device. Once the device is
disabled the same will appear on the “disablements” list on the panel. The engineer or user can use the same to
check whether the device is disabled or not.
IV. SOP to switch on a disabled device

Step 1.
Click on the “Access Code” button on the panel and input the access code for the panel using the numerical
keypad. Click on the “Enter” button on the panel once the access code is provided. If the access code is
correct, the LED near the Access Code button will be active and a message will be displayed on the panel
saying “Access changed from 1 to x” (x being the level of access programed into the panel for the provided
access code).

Step 2.
The list of all the disabled devices can be seen in the “Disablements” option on the panel. Click on the
“Disablements” button on the panel and using the Up/Down arrow bring the device to be switched on and use
“Enter” key to select the same. Once the enter key is pressed, the status of the device will be displayed as
“Off” or “Disabled”.

Step 3.
Once the required device is selected, click on the “ON” button on the panel display to switch on the device.
This will switch on the device and the current status of the device (idle, Alarm, Fault or alarm) will be shown
instead of Off or disabled.
V. SOP to simulate an alarm

Step 1.
Click on the “Access Code” button on the panel and input the access code for the panel using the numerical
keypad. Click on the “Enter” button on the panel once the access code is provided. If the access code is
correct, the LED near the Access Code button will be active and a message will be displayed on the panel
saying “Access changed from 1 to x” (x being the level of access programed into the panel for the provided
access code).

Step 2.
To simulate an alarm, first step is to select the device which is to be simulated into an alarm state. To do the
same, click on the “Detector zone” button on the panel and input the device no in the format “Zone
no/Detector no” and click “Enter”. This will now show the status of the device. Please note that if the status of
the device is “Alarm”, “Fault” or “Disabled” then simulation won’t be possible. In order to simulate a
particular device into alarm, the status of the device should be “Idle”.

Step 3.
Once the device is selected, click on the “Other commands” option on the panel and bring the “Simulate
alarm” option to the top of the screen using the up/down arrows and select using the “Enter” key on the panel.
This will simulate the device into alarm condition. The SOP in case of an alarm can be checked in the first
part of this document.
VI. SOP to simulate a Fault

Step 1.
Click on the “Access Code” button on the panel and input the access code for the panel using the numerical
keypad. Click on the “Enter” button on the panel once the access code is provided. If the access code is
correct, the LED near the Access Code button will be active and a message will be displayed on the panel
saying “Access changed from 1 to x” (x being the level of access programed into the panel for the provided
access code).

Step 2.
In order to simulate a device into fault condition, the first step is to input the device details into the panel.
There are mainly 4 type devices

1. Detector zone (contains detectors, MCPs and inputs programmed as Detectors

Step 3.
Once the device is selected, click on the “Other commands” option on the panel and bring the “Simulate fault”
option to the top of the screen using the up/down arrows and select using the “Enter” key on the panel. This
will simulate the device into fault condition. The SOP in case of a fault can be checked in the second part of
this document.
