Sample Question:
You are Alia/Ali, the Head girl / Head boy of your school. You are deeply disturbed by the rising cases of
aggressive behaviour among students in your school. You decide to speak during the morning assembly
about it. Write a speech on ‘Increasing Indiscipline in Schools’ within 120 – 150 words.
Sample Answer:
INDISCIPLINE IN SCHOOLS
None of you can deny the fact that the number of fights and cases of bullying has gone up tremendously in
the last few months in our school.
Good morning to Respected Principal Sir, revered teachers and my dear friends. Today, I, Ali/Alia, your
Head boy/girl, stand before you to throw light upon the grave issue of ‘Increasing Indiscipline in Schools’.
It has been observed that disobeying teachers, bullying, fighting with peers, truancy and insults have
become a common trend among a section of the students. Not only this, there have been complaints of
parents witnessing a shift in their children’s attitude. This is resulting in a lot of children getting hurt
emotionally, mentally and physically. The impact this attitude is having on our mates is disastrous and
irreversible.
Not to forget the damage that has been done to the school property. Stealing chalks, scribbling on desks,
walls and washroom doors, destroying CCTV cameras are just few examples; the list goes on. By doing this,
we are depriving ourselves of the amenities being provided to us.
A discussion with our Counsellor ma’am has revealed the fact that lack of proper guidance, excessive use of
social media and peer pressure are the root causes of the problem. Our school management has decided on
certain steps to improve the situation. Life skill classes are being made mandatory for everyone. Teachings
will include counselling, motivation and inculcating friendly values. Seminars for parents and students will
be regularly organised. The Counsellor’s office is being made available throughout the school duration to
help you all share your feelings, grudges and share your personal problems too. The management is doing
everything they can and expect the same from us.
So, let’s join our hands together and build an environment where we encourage, motivate, help and be kind
to each other. Let’s not forget, “If we do not conquer self, we will be conquered by self.”
Thank you.
Question For Practice:
1. Your school has banned the use of polythene bags as they are non biodegradable and harmful to every
living being and the environment. But still the students are using them for carrying things to school and also
bringing packed food that has increased the amount of plastic waste at school. As a member of the Eco
Club, you have been asked to deliver a speech in the morning assembly on the topic, ‘Say No to Plastics and
Polythene Bags’. Write the speech within 120- 150 words.
2. Road accidents are a common sight. Further, people are often seen shouting at and threatening the
people who have annoyed them in some way on the roads. Even overtaking them, quite legally, can enrage
them. Write a speech on the topic ‘Road Rage’ within 120-150 words.
