Phaneroo Devotion:

Matthew 26:41(KJV): Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is
willing, but the flesh is weak.

WATCH AND PRAY I

Prayer was not designed by God to be a passive indulgence.

As a true woman or man of prayer, you should participate in your prayers.

For example, while in prayer, an image may flash into your mind of a brother or friend in a car
accident. It may even be a random thought of the death of a long-lost relative.

Don't dismiss it as the product of your wandering mind. Because it came in the moment of
prayer, chances are that it is no mere coincidence.

Arrest it at that very moment. Decree and declare that he or she will not die! Tell the devil, "Take
your hand off my own!" Frustrate the plans of the enemy at that moment.

In the same vein, if while in prayer, you see with your mind's eye that you are being given keys
to a beautiful house, don't get into rebuking the devil for trying to tempt and entice you. Thank
God for what He is giving to you. Celebrate the gift of the new house!

That is part of watching and praying.

Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: Prayer was not designed by God to be a passive indulgence. As a true
woman or man of prayer, you should participate in your prayers.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for the grace to plant what must
be planted and arrest what must be arrested in prayer. My life is a fireplace because I know what
to command in my closet, to the glory of Your name, Amen.

WATCH AND PRAY II

In yesterday's devotion, we learnt the importance of being an active participant in your moments
of prayer. One of the ways to participate is to respond to the thoughts and the images that come
to you as you are praying.

Today, I wish to open your eyes to another way you can participate.

God has given us the liberty to create using the scriptures.

For example, while in prayer, you may say, "Your Word has said that I am the head and not the
tail." With this same scripture, you build the vision of what it means for you to be the head and
not the tail.

You may say, "I thank You because I am a leader in my industry. You have elevated me above all
my peers. My ideas take first place. My products take first place. My innovations take first place.
I thank You, God because the work of my hand and the fruits of my labour are preferred in the
marketplace. In all that I do, I am positioned as a leader in my field, to the glory of Your name."

That is a man participating in prayer. You cannot pray that way and fail to get answers or see
results.

Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Hebrews 11:3, Hebrews 4:12

GOLDEN NUGGET: God has given us the liberty to create using the scriptures.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for continually instructing me in
the ways of prayer. Your Word has saturated my spirit and is the object of my petitions and
supplications. By the Word I build, create and cast down, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Hebrews 11:3(KJV): Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of
God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

THE LAW OF TRANSLATION

Everything visible has its origin in the world of invisible things.

All physical things are manifested from a spiritual world. It does not matter what they are; trees,
houses, cars or phones.

How spiritual things manifest in the physical realm is called the law of translation.

If you do not understand this law, you will struggle to make the invisible visible and bring forth
from the spiritual realm into the physical realm.

In every area of your life, you must carry the consciousness that the spiritual realm is the source
of all physical things.

Success is achieved in the unseen realm before it is manifested in the seen realm.

What then is your part?

Learn how the spiritual world works. Understand its laws and pillars, its foundations and
principles.

We do not build life in the physical realm only. As spirit beings, we start from the spiritual into
the physical.

Hallelujah!

spirit being. I live and walk in that world because it is my primary habitation. Like David, I

Hebrews 11:6(KJV): But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God
must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

GOD IS I

When you go to God in prayer, you must do so with the blessed assurance that He is.

In our theme scripture, the Bible did not define who God is. This is because there are infinite
possibilities in God for the man or woman of faith.
In this understanding, faith gives you the liberty to determine who God is and can be to you. And
according to your faith, it shall be given unto you.

He is healer, provider, strength, comforter, joy, peace, wisdom and light.

He is the husband to the widow, father to the orphan, brother to the brotherless, friend, partner,
guide and leader.

He is strength everlasting, love unfailing, hope unceasing, immovable, unshakeable anchor of the
saints.

He is the foundation, the source, the beginning and the end, author and finisher of everything
about you.

Whatever your situation, something infinite in both His character and nature is your answer.

God is.

the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you
back to the place from which I sent you into exile.

GOD IS II

Contrary to popular belief, prayer is not the answer to everything, God is.

You very well know that not all Christians enjoy the experiences of answered prayer. Some have
prayed for years about some ailment or affliction but have never received an answer.

Some Christians have more faith in prayer than they do in God. They attach more importance to
the act of praying than to the God to whom they pray.

One writer called this prayerless praying. This is because the focus and attention of the Christian
is not on God who answers prayer.

You must re-examine your prayer life and the nature of your audience.
To the true man or woman of prayer, it is an audience of one. When you understand this truth,
you will realise that prayer is and will always be a response to an open invitation by the Father
into His presence.

Hallelujah!

Hosea 13:12-13(NIV): The guilt of Ephraim is stored up, his sins are kept on record. Pains as of
a woman in childbirth come to him, but he is a child without wisdom; when the time arrives, he
doesn’t have the sense to come out of the womb.

SEEK WISDOM
Oftentimes, lack of wisdom is the fundamental cause of the problems many people face in life.

When you examine some people's lives, they are making a beeline for failure because every step
they are taking is characterised by an utter lack of wisdom.

Unfortunately, many Christians who are blind to this truth spend a big part of their lives 'treating
symptoms' instead of addressing the cause.

Take the example of Ephraim in our theme scripture. The Bible says that when the time arrived,
he did not have the sense to come out of the womb.

So, some see Ephraim's delays in life and call them poverty but God sees a lack of wisdom.

Some see Ephraim's affliction and disease and call it a demonic affliction but when God weighs
all factors concerned, He sees Ephraim's lack of wisdom.

Wisdom is the principal thing (Proverbs 4:7).

If you ever find yourself stuck in life, fighting old battles with new words and labouring under
the burden of frustrated potential, seek wisdom. It will always pave the way for your
breakthrough.

OF SHOWING HARD SENTENCES AND DISSOLVING DOUBTS

The world is faced with many complex questions.

Some questions especially in the church, concern the Bible. Some of these are the reason for the
numerous divisions in the body of Christ on the grounds of doctrine.

The Bible has complexities and some people have used these to disqualify its truth. But God has
given you the grace to demystify these mysteries.

In Matthew 13:11, the Bible says, "It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of
Heaven."
You have the grace to make what is complex simple and to reconcile what seem like
contradictions by the Spirit of revelation.

Where men see grey in the Word, you cast light in technicolour.

days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and
I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

WHEN GOD ANSWERS A MAN

God's character and how He answers prayer is demonstrated in the life of Hezekiah.

The context of our theme scripture is that Hezekiah was sick to the point of death. The prophet
Isaiah told him to set his house in order because he was going to die. After this frightening
proclamation, Hezekiah turned to the wall, wept in earnest and provoked the God of Mercy.

But in answering Hezekiah, God did not only grant him fifteen more years. The Bible says that
He also promised to deliver Hezekiah and his city from the King of Assyria.

The God we serve is holistic in how He answers prayer. He is not the God who will give you a
spouse but deprive you of the joy of children. He is not the God who gives you a business and
deprives you of a market for your products.

Like He gave Hezekiah a long life and the assurance of peace, He will give you children and the
finances to raise them. He will give you wealth and the health to enjoy it, a ministry and the
wisdom to run it.

Matthew 7:24-25(KJV): Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I
will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and
the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded
upon a rock.

A HOUSE BUILT ON A ROCK

Our theme scripture gives us an analogy of what it means to be a stable Christian.

As the house of God, you must be immovable and unyielding in the face of life's worst crises.

Examine your life for a minute. Can you truly say that nothing moves you? Are you sure that you
stand steadfast when the storms of life buffet you?
When weighed against this scripture, many Christians are found wanting. In reality, they live up
to the scripture in Proverbs 24:10(MSG) which says, "If you fall to pieces in a crisis, there wasn't
much to you in the first place."

You must learn to fortify your spirit. It must be the testimony of both heaven and hell that
nothing moves you.

When a doctor tells you that you have three months to live, you must have the boldness to say,
"You are not God, this disease has not heard the final word on this!"

When the naysayers number the final days of your ministry or business, add the number of chairs
or buy more equipment.

Nothing should ever shake your convictions in God and His vote over your destiny. You know
whom you believe, to whom you belong and who you are!

THE POWER OF CONSISTENCY I

Consistency begets excellence.

The reason why some people fail in their careers, marriages, businesses or ministry is because
they have failed to master the art of consistency.

At work, they are poor at meeting deadlines, their lack of punctuality is legendary and are
unreliable when it comes to meeting their key performance indicators. With such inconsistency
in performance, one should not expect to advance.

When it comes to ministry, some people serve when they want and are absent from their duty
stations if turning up is an inconvenience. Some pray, fast and give to God only when they deem
fit.

How do you expect promotion from God when He cannot depend on you?

Some of the greatest businesses in the world are not merely selling products. They sell
consistency.

Because they are, they win in the arena of excellence because they harness a fundamental human
trait; that people are creatures of habit and routine.

that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

THE POWER OF CONSISTENCY II

Consistency positions you for divine appointments.

This was the case for Matthias in our theme scripture.

The Bible says that one of the reasons why Matthias was appointed is because he had been with
the disciples 'all the time' right from the beginning of Jesus' baptism to the time of His ascension.

When the Lord needed a man to replace Judas, He looked to the most consistent of the disciples.

He would not have chosen from one who was available sometimes or who attended Christ's
meetings only when he did not have any other pressing obligations.

This is why it is important to be both committed and available in your service to God. If you
must be used by God, master the art of consistency in how you handle the responsibilities you
are trusted with.

God rewards faithfulness. Consistency demonstrates a man's faithfulness in the things of the

WHEN GOD HEARKENS TO A MAN'S PRAYER

The Bible is full of accounts that prove that God answers prayer no matter how big the request.

In Joshua 10, the Lord hearkened to His servant when he prayed for the sun and the moon to
stand still.

The Bible says "And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto
the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel."

In 2 Kings 20, God heard Hezekiah's unexpected appeal. The scripture says, "And Hezekiah
answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return
backward ten degrees. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the Lord: and he brought the shadow ten
degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz."

If God answered Joshua and stopped the earth's greatest luminaries or Hezekiah's plea and
moved the sun's shadow backwards by ten degrees, how much more will He respond to you, the
new creature in Christ?
Your covenant with God is built on better promises. Let this be the foundation of your boldness

2 Corinthians 10:10(KJV); For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily

OF TRUTH
The beauty of one's speech and their ability to rhyme phrases does not necessarily mean they are
ministering the truth.

Unfortunately, some Christians cannot tell the difference. They get excited by good articulation
and conclude that the minister is truthful.

From our theme scripture we learn that Paul was not a very good speaker. The Message Version
of the same says he mumbled when he spoke. This notwithstanding, God chose him to lay the
foundation of the gospel (1 Corinthians 3:10).

This is not to disparage the importance of oration and being a good speaker. Great
communication skills are commendable. But, you must understand that truth is judged in the
consecrated heart not the accurate mind.

This means that when a man's heart is dealt with by God, he speaks from the purity of divine
counsel and that is what makes him minister the truth of the gospel.

Maturity demands that you learn the difference between one who is merely a good speaker and
one ministering truth.

his harvest.

PRAY FOR LABOURERS

I have known Christians who have prayed for the salvation of their family members and friends
for years yet some of the people they pray for never seem to change.

Is it because God does not want them saved? This is not so. The Bible says that He desires that
all men should be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).

In our theme scripture, God gives us wisdom when it comes to the salvation of souls. He says,
‘Pray ye the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.’

Instead of praying for God to save your brother, sister, uncle, father or daughter, pray to Him to
send the right labourers to minister to them and bring them to salvation.

There are people in this life who have been given the grace to minister to other people. The
scriptures speak of how Paul was given grace to minister to the Gentiles and Peter to the Jews
(Galatians 2:8).
Your relatives might not listen to you but they will listen to those that God has given the grace to
minister to them.

tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
PRESERVED IN HIS PRESENCE I

Child of God, you may never be able to appreciate how many dangers you have been shielded
and protected from simply because you dwell in the presence of God.

Some attacks are averted without your knowledge by the mere fact that you chose to pray and
seek the face of God one Sunday morning. Some people are alive today because while in a
church service, the spirit of death in pursuit of them was frustrated.

This is what David means in our theme scripture. Because his constant desire was to dwell in the
house of the Lord and enquire in His temple all the days of his life, in times of trouble, God hid
him in His pavilion and the secret of His tabernacle.

If there should be a constant in your life, then let it be your pursuit of intimacy with God.

Do not allow compromises when it comes to the presence of God. Let your family and friends
know that no social programs take precedence over time with God. Birthday celebrations and
family get-togethers should not be slotted into the time when you are attending a church service.

If they need you in attendance, then they should be able to plan around your primary loyalty to

Are you the type in a hurry because you need to find a front seat and that is all that occupies your

David teaches us how we enter into the presence of God. He said, ‘enter with thanksgiving and

Prepare your heart through the course of the day. Tell the Lord how ready you are for what He

As you head for service, launch into thanksgiving and praise. ‘Father, I thank You for this
service. I praise Your name for the anointing that is available for my benefit. I cannot remain the
same because You never gather men and do nothing. Whatever You wish to do this day, my
response is ‘Yes Lord!’

With that attitude, you give the Lord free reign to work in and through you. It is impossible to

presence. I enter with joy and praise on my lips. I acknowledge Your greatness and majesty. I

Romans 16:19 (KJV): For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on

WISE UNTO THAT WHICH IS GOOD

Paul’s instruction through our theme scripture is to labour as Christians to know more about God
than we should about the devil.

It is an unfortunate fact that some ministries in the world have dedicated a great part of their time
and resources to the study of the devil. They want to know the ranks in his kingdom, his tactics
and weapons.

They have, like those referred to in the Book of Revelation, studied and known the depths of
Satan (Revelation 2:24).

The biggest danger with the continued study of the devil and his workings is how easily men get
drawn into the web of deception. More often than not, a genuine minister eventually yields to a
familiar spirit.

The devil was defeated by Christ and he has no power over you as a child of God. Invest more
time in studying the victor instead of the defeated one.

Seek to know more about God than you do about the devil. Knowing God is the greatest pursuit
of the Christian. It is the essence of eternal life (John 17:3).
You can only function by and in the life of God based on how much you know Him, not how
well you have understood the functioning of the spirits and realms of darkness.

Psalm 36:8 (KJV): They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou
shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

FINDING PLEASURE IN HIS PRESENCE

Child of God, can you testify to the fact that you are a lover of the presence of God? Do you
truly enjoy being with Him?

Many Christians cannot attest to the beauty of this experience because they do not know it. They
sing songs about how they love God’s presence but some are always in a hurry to leave prayer
time and attend to other pressing matters in their lives.

It is easier for many Christians to spend hours binge-watching Netflix shows than thirty minutes
with God. They can pass time browsing TikTok and YouTube videos but the same amount of
time can never be invested in communion with God.

But there is pleasure in the presence of God. This is more than a song, it is an experience to
which God exposes your spirit. David calls it drinking from the river of His pleasures.

How can you be launched into the experience of pleasure in His presence?

The answer is to ask for it. Pray to the Lord to give you this experience. Before you know it,
hours shall pass as you communion with Him and you will not even notice. You will long for
solitude and the moments that you can be alone with Him because He is a source of pleasure
indeed!

that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by
bread alone, but by every word of God.

THE MYSTERY OF TEMPTATION I

The temptation of Jesus Christ gives us great insights into how the enemy tempts the children of
God.

The first aspect of temptation is the knowledge of one’s identity. Do you know who you are?

The enemy did not say, ‘If thou be the Son of God…’ because he did not know who Christ was
and was only trying to establish this fact. He wanted to test whether the Lord knew who He was.

Many Christians fail this test and in doing so, they turn stones into bread. They indulge in actions
to prove to men who they are because, in the first place, they are indifferent to their own spiritual
identities.
If you know who you are, there is no point in proving it. There is nothing to be achieved from
healing a lame man merely to show observers that you are a man of God. Healing and the
demonstration of the power of God are meant for a higher purpose other than massaging your
insecurities.

When you hear a Christian say, ‘Can I show you?’ or demonstrate power ‘to show them’, it is
only because they do not know who they are. What may appear as a miracle or a work of God to
others when weighed against the standard of the Spirit will be found to be stones turned into
bread.

kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I
give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

THE MYSTERY OF TEMPTATION II

When a Christian knows who he is in God and is not confused about his identity, the next line of
attack from the enemy is whether such a person knows how much power is given to him because
of his knowledge of his identity.

Knowing who you are in God is not enough.

If you know who you are, the devil will also seek to tempt you with what he has in an exchange
of power. If you transact with the enemy at this point, it is because you do not know how much
God has made available because of your identity as a child of the king.

Some Christians have transacted with the enemy without knowing so and have been derailed
from the course of their destinies.

For example, becoming unequally yoked with a non-believer (2 Corinthians 6:14) simply
because he can take care of your mother, build you a house and buy you a car is a transaction
with the enemy. It is because you do not know that with your identity came all things that pertain
to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3) and all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places (Ephesians
1:3).

As a believer, choose to understand what it means to be a child of God. What privileges does
sonship to God carry? What liberties have been availed to you? To what do you have access? By
this, you will always turn down the enemy’s version of power, wealth, health or glory.

Psalm 62:10(KJV): Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase,
set not your heart upon them.

SET NOT YOUR HEART ON RICHES

God has purposed to bless and increase you. He desires to multiply the fruit of your labours and
prosper you in whatever you do.

But what attitude must you have when your material possessions increase?
The Psalmist tells us, 'Set not your heart upon them.' The New Living Translation of the same
scripture says, 'If wealth increases, do not make it the centre of your life.'

When God blesses you with things such as cars, houses, properties, and prospering businesses,
you must view them as tools to aid you in your service to God.

They must never become the object of your identity.

A Christian who understands who he is in God is not attached to anything in this world. There
should never be anything that you cannot give up for the sake of the gospel.

Your attitude to wealth should be reflected in what Paul says in Philippians 4:12; "I know both
how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both
to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need."

shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: And in their hands they shall bear thee up,
lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said,
Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

THE MYSTERY OF TEMPTATION III

In previous devotions, we learnt the core aspects of temptation by the devil. First, he tests
whether a man knows who he is. Second, he tempts a man to perceive if that man knows the
power that is available to him by virtue of who he is in God.

Today, allow me to open your eyes to one final aspect. It is that the devil tempts a man to
perform beyond the liberties of the power he has been given. In Jesus' case, it was to cast
Himself down because, by virtue of His authority and rank in the spirit, angels would be
available to serve Him and keep Him from dashing His foot against a stone.

This kind of temptation was even backed by scripture!

As a minister of God, you may have a lot of power with and over men. The enemy will test you
on how you use that power.

It is written, “Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And the labourer is worthy
of his reward." (1 Timothy 5:18).

How do you use this power, man or woman of God? Do you manipulate your congregation to
give because it is written? Does your message 'beg for bread' because it is written?
When Paul saw this line of temptation, he said, “Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may
make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel." (1
Corinthians 9:18).

Child of God, you have access to great power in God. Always remember that there are
boundaries within which you can exercise this power.

Proverbs 23:26(KJV): My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
THE REALMS OF VISION I

There are three realms of vision that any Christian whose spiritual sight is activated must
function in.

The first realm is the vision of God.

How do you see the Lord?

It is through your heart.

In Matthew 5:8, the Bible says, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."

The purity of your heart defines the accuracy of your vision of God.

In our theme scripture, the Lord says give Him your heart and your eyes shall observe His ways.

The more yielded your heart is to Him, the greater your spiritual sight.

For this reason, the Word of God is very important because it purges our hearts and as it does, we
see God more clearly.

Study and listen to the Word conscious of the fact that it is continuously correcting and
perfecting your vision of God. This is why you cannot judge Him foolishly or misrepresent His
character.

THE REALMS OF VISION II

Yesterday, we learnt of the primary realm of vision which is the vision of God.

There is another realm to which I wish to open your eyes today and it is the realm of the
mysteries of truth and revelation.

In this realm of vision lies the ability to see the hidden things in the Word of God.

This was Paul's prayer for the church in Ephesians 1:17-18. The Bible says, "That the God of our
Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in
the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know
what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints."

This is the realm in which a scripture you have read countless times over the years takes on a
new angle and perspective you never imagined.

In this realm, the Word of God is open to you. You see the events behind the written text and
observe truths that are hidden from the human eye.

May the Lord wash your eyes with salve and cause you to see in His Word. May the Spirit of
revelation pursue you and unveil the hidden treasures of the scriptures. May your study of the
Word become a pleasure because in it, like David, you continually find great spoil (Psalm
119:162).

Having understood God and connected to His revelation and truth, the last realm of vision you
must understand is the vision of your true weight or measure in the spirit.

If you do not know your true spiritual weight, you cannot pray the right way. The lack of this
kind of vision is also the reason some people make the wrong judgments.

Only the right vision of his weight could make David say in Psalm 131:1, "LORD, my heart is
not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too
high for me."

When you listen to some ministers of the gospel express their opinions of other ministers, you
cannot help but think that they truly do not know their weight.

It is in this ignorance that a man who merely teaches judges one who breaks depths, one who
prays judges he who opens heaven with just a sigh, and one who sings judges a true worshipper.

One man knows the Psalm, the other knows the Shepherd. A vision of your weight and measure
is what creates this distinction.

Praise the Lord!

IT BEGINS WITH YOU

There are Christians who actively 'see' what is happening in the lives of other Christians but are
too blind to see things about their own lives.

Some are self-proclaimed prophets in churches. They 'saw by the Spirit' that sister Elsie stole
from Brother Jonas last week.

They are suspicious of sister Joan's newfound success and 'suspect' it has nothing to do with
God's blessings.

They 'feel by the Spirit' that the Pastor's decision to appoint Brother Jeremiah as the new choir
director is misinformed because if what they see in the spirit about Jeremiah comes to light, he
would be disqualified immediately.

Ironically, such Christians are usually struggling financially, in their marriages and ministries.
They are too busy 'seeing' what concerns other people and cannot see their problems.

The Lord says you must deal with the beam in your eye first. God does not open the lives of
other men to you when He has not taught you how to see concerning yourself first. He does this
because a man blind to his state, sees others, not necessarily as they are but as he is. This is a
false vision.

SPIRITUAL WEIGHT I

If you are serious about your salvation and growth in God, you must seek to have the right
estimation of yourself.

It must not be an underestimation because that is false humility. It also must not be an
overestimation because that is pride.

True humility begins when you understand this.

More often than not, men who are wanting in spiritual weight seek to exalt themselves. It is their
way of compensating for what they lack.

However, the Lord is a God of perfect balance. In Matthew 23:12, He says, "And whosoever
shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted."

Consecration begins with this awareness and knowledge of where you stand spiritually.
You can never break enough for God to move you to the next level of spiritual growth when you
assume you are in a higher place in Him than you truly are.

Why do you think a man like Paul could say, "For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet
to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God "?(1 Corinthians 15:9). This is a
man who laid the foundation of the gospel describing himself as the least of the apostles.

Why would he confess, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief"?
(1 Timothy 1:15).

At some point in his ministry, Paul was exposed to his true state. From that place, God led him to
higher realms.

Tell God to reveal your true measure and that in doing so, He will take you to the places in Him
you must be, not assume to be.

SPIRITUAL WEIGHT II

It is most unwise to make assumptions about your place in the spirit.

Such assumptions are the reason for public embarrassment as explained in Luke 14:8-9.

The Bible says, "When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest
room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; And he that bade thee and him
come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room."

Must God write it on a wall for the world to see that you do not fit the shoes you are trying to
wear?

Must it be announced for all to see that you have been weighed in the balances and found
wanting?

God does not desire to get your attention in this way. Matters to do with your spiritual weight are
things He wishes to reveal to you privately if you are humble enough to listen.

Choose, child of God, to be broken enough to receive the vision of your true weight.

1 Corinthians 6:12 (KJV): All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all
things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

THE BOUNDARIES OF YOUR LIBERTY

As you mature in God, you learn how to separate the lawful things from the beneficial things.
The lawful things may be permissible to many but because of the covenant you have with God,
you are not allowed to indulge in them.

It does not mean those things are bad in and of themselves, it's just that God in His divine
wisdom knows those things are not for you. Others might get away with doing them and you
may not.

For example, many people were at liberty to cut off their hair during the time of Samson. It was
lawful to do so but to Samson, it was not beneficial. His covenant with the Master required that
no razor was to touch his head (Judges 13:5).

It would be erroneous for a Samson in our day to build a doctrine around one not cutting off his
hair because this particular instruction was personal to him.

Every man consecrated by God knows what is expedient or beneficial. These instructions place
boundaries on the liberties you have in God and test your commitment to the covenant you have
with Him.

You should be mature enough to know what places you should never step, which associations
you should never make or what indulgences you should never have.

LET THE WORSHIPPERS ARISE

A true worshipper is not only a man or woman who knows how to sing.

In this world, there are people with no singing voices but are great worshippers of God.

From the temptation of Jesus Christ, we receive an insight into what true worship is.

Worship begins with a full revelation of the power and glory of whom you worship. In our case
as children of God, it is the Lord God Almighty.

When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, He revealed to us the greatest weakness
in worship. He said in John 4:22, "Ye worship ye know not what…"
People struggle to worship the Lord because they do not know Him.

When you understand the majesty and greatness of God, you cannot help but worship Him.
When you behold the fullness of God's glory, you are provoked to worship.

The revelation of who God is makes worship effortless, pure and sincere.

Matthew 5:11-12 (KJV): Blessed are ye, when men shall you, and persecute you, and shall say
all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is
your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

WHEN THEY FIGHT YOU I

The life of a true minister of God was not designed to be free from persecution. Your DNA as a
child of God guarantees that you thrive when the haters sharpen their pens with glee or set you
up for ridicule.

As it was for the children of Israel in Exodus 1:12 that the more the Egyptians persecuted and
afflicted them, the more they grew and multiplied, so it is with you.

Any form of persecution should be welcomed, gladly and joyfully, as a divine opportunity for
increase.

Our theme scripture goes so far as to call you blessed when the fires of persecution rage against
you.

Do not whine! No, do not complain and point fingers.

Get ready. God is setting you up for a great victory.

Enlarge your tents! Create room in your spirit for unimaginable possibilities.

The table is set! The feast is ready (Psalm 23:5). God is about to surprise, overwhelm and shock
you!

Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. What a comfort and great assurance! It does
not matter how many rise against me. You are with me and for me and that is all that matters. I

1 Peter 4:14 (MSG): If you're abused because of Christ, count yourself fortunate. It's the Spirit of
God and his glory in you that brought you to the notice of others.

WHEN THEY FIGHT YOU II

The glory of God upon your life will attract persecution.

You cannot expect to rise above the norm, excel in your craft, defeat the odds, blaze new trails
but escape the attack of men and women who either do not understand your success or are
merely intimidated by it.
Our theme scripture is very succinct in expressing this truth. The Spirit of God and His glory in
you brought you to the notice of others.

Recognise the fact that God's work in and through you has destabilised hell enough for the devil
and his minions to take note.

One man said that to avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing and be nothing!

That is not your story! So, don't indulge in any pity party. Rather, celebrate the fact that you are
visible enough in the realm of spirits to attract attention.

You are a burning and shining light! (John 5:35). Gentiles are coming to your light and kings to
the brightness of your rising (Isaiah 60:3). The veils of invisibility have been ripped away from
your countenance. The men and women of this world are sitting up and taking notice of you and
God's glory radiating from your spirit.

Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Luke 6:22, James 1:12

GOLDEN NUGGET: Recognise the fact that God's work in and through you has destabilised
hell enough for the devil and his minions to take note.

PRAYER: My Lord, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for the glory that is upon my life. I am
a child of light, a city set on a hill and cannot be hidden. I rejoice in this truth and do not wither
because of persecution. I am vindicated by the Spirit all the days of my life, in Jesus' name,
Amen.

1 Kings 19:18 (KJV): Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not
bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

REFUSE TO BE HIDDEN

The context of our theme scripture is the story of the great Prophet Elijah's flight from Jezebel,
Queen to King Ahab because she had, in no simple words, promised to kill him.

It is with this profound fear that he told God that he was the only one left of all the prophets in
Israel. God informed Elijah that there were in fact seven thousand prophets who had not bowed
to Baal.

The ultimate question one ought to ask is, "Where were those seven thousand prophets when
pagan worship was taking preeminence in Israel? Where were those prophets when Elijah
condemned Israel's idolatry? Where were they when Elijah proved to Israel that the God of
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the one and true God?"

The obvious answer is that they were hidden. This is in the sense that they were not fiery enough
to attract Jezebel's wrath.

While this fact may be celebrated, it is also saddening. This is because it is possible to be safe
from persecution and yet indifferent to divine purpose. You would rather be targeted while you
are in the perfect will of God than be safe while lounging in the permissible will.
Refuse to be hidden! Even if the glory upon your life attracts fire, rest in the fact that when you
go through the fire, God shall be with you!

Step out into God's plan and purposes without fear of intimidation. Don't allow the possibility of
persecution to let you cower in comfort zones. May enemies fight you because you are shining.
May the haters attack you because you leaped out of the shallow pools of mediocrity into the
bottomless depths of greatness. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. I am shining with the glory of God. You did
not light me to put me under a bushel but for the world to see Your great work in me. I refuse to
be invisible both physically and spiritually. This is my testimony and story, in Jesus' name,

plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him,
and cast his mantle upon him.

THE MYSTERY OF MANTLES I

One fundamental secret of the mantle is that your mantle will always be bigger than you.

If God has a purpose for your life, that purpose is greater than what you can ever achieve in your
individual capacity.

People will always assess your background, credentials and affiliations and conclude that they do
not measure up to what God is doing through you.

In acknowledging this truth, Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:26, “For ye see in your calling,
brethren, how not many wise men according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are
called.”

The Message translation lends deeper clarity to this issue. It says, “Take a good look, friends, at
who you were when you got called into this life. I don't see many of "the brightest and the best"
among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families.”

What God has placed upon your life must be bigger than you because that is the guarantee that it
will outlive you and leave a legacy for the generations that follow.

Praise Him!

THE MYSTERY OF MANTLES II

In yesterday’s devotion, we learnt that your mantle will always be bigger than you.

Today, I wish for you to understand that we GROW into mantles. If you receive a mantle and do
not grow into it, you will never fully achieve what God has designed as your purpose in life.

Every mantle comes with the demand for you to change, adjust and evolve. It should not leave
you the same man.

When Elisha received Elijah’s mantle, the Bible says, “he returned back from him, and took a
yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave
unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.”
(1 Kings 19:21)

This was all Elisha knew. He let go of it all for the higher purpose of growing into what he had
received.

The late Evangelist Reinhard Bonkhe said that when he received the mantle from Evangelist
George Jeffreys, he had to forget everything he knew because what he knew was exactly how
God could never use him.

Growing into a mantle is what makes the man who received it a different man: different from the
man his siblings grew up with; different from the peers he attended classes with; different from
people he sat together in church with. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: 1 Kings 19:21, Philippians 3:8

GOLDEN NUGGET: Every mantle comes with the demand for you to change, adjust and
evolve. It should not leave you the same man.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You because I am marked by heaven
for a great cause. I yield to the ways, principles and patterns by which men grow into mantles. If
it means forgetting all that I know, I choose to. If it means death, kill me Lord. May it be the
testimony of my life that I lived for You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the
coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently
enquired of the wise men.

TO PRESERVE AND BE PRESERVED

It is a spiritual fact that not everyone who dies at a specific time was in fact meant to die at that
time.

Some people are simply collateral damage in the devil's marauding pursuits of other individuals,
that is, they die because they were in the vicinity of someone else the devil was targeting.

Take the example of Jesus in Herod's time. The Bible says that Herod commanded the death of
all the children from two years and under. They were not specifically the target, baby Jesus was.

In the same manner, the devil may target a man on a bus and kill all the passengers just to get to
that man. He may crash an entire plane just to destroy one man. He may even plunge a nation
into war because he is intimidated by the destiny of one man.

What does this sobering truth teach us?

You must have the wisdom to guard yourself. If the devil has targeted a man in a bus in which
you are travelling, you should never die as an unintended target!

Most importantly, your presence should be enough to preserve the lives of all on board. Like one
man may be the cause of the death of many, one can be the salvation of many. This is your
testimony and story.

God has called each and every one of us in a unique way. His purpose for every individual is
different. The sad thing is that few people ever find themselves by discovering why God gave

Oftentimes, many choose the ordinary. They spend their lives meandering and wandering on the
broad path of mediocrity and predictability.

The question I put to you, child of God, is, "Have you discovered your purpose in life? Has God
revealed your calling to you?"

These are fundamental questions in understanding the mantle upon your life.

You must ask, "Who am I to my nation? Who am I to the world? Who am I to my generation?"

You are not a statistic. You are different with a distinctive mark upon your life.

The day you discover what God has called you to do is the day you will begin to truly live.

FREE FROM GENERATIONAL CURSES

The death and resurrection of Christ at Calvary ended the past of the new creature and gave him
a new life.

It is therefore erroneous to associate generational curses with one who is Born Again.

How can you tell a Christian that he has a generational curse when the Bible says greater is He
that is in you than he that is in the world? (1 John 4:4)

How can you teach this Christian that they are struggling with a generational curse when the

How can you tell a Born Again man or woman that he has a generational curse when God has

A man who is not in covenant with God can have a generational curse. Not the new creature in

WHEN WE BELIEVE
Faith, by its nature, does not conform to the constraints of logic and reason.

It defies the odds for anyone who is ready and willing to trust in God.

In the world, people set goals based on the 'SMART' criteria. By this matrix, your goals have to
be 'Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound.'

This is worldly wisdom and has limitations.

When we are dealing with faith, it is not entirely 'SMART'.

By faith, God can give you something that is not measurable. He says in Ephesians 3:20 that He
is able to do exceeding abundantly above that which you hope or expect.

By faith, God can answer prayers outside the bounds of human time. He can achieve in seconds
what it takes months to complete. He can give you in minutes what it takes ordinary men years to
accomplish.

So, when setting goals, rise above the SMART criteria and believe God for the extra-ordinary.

Proverbs 23:26(KJV): My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

THE CONSECRATION OF THE HEART

There are different kinds of consecration that any serious seeker of God will need to experience.
However, the most pivotal and fundamental consecration is that of the heart.

It is God's greatest appeal to the human spirit--to GIVE HIM YOUR HEART.

Beloved of the Lord, if your heart is not with God, it is most definitely with someone or
something else. That thing or person has rule over your will, passions and deepest convictions.

Once your heart is in another place other than with God, your vision and understanding of
treasure will always be corrupted. For He has said, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will
be also" (Luke 12:34).

A heart that is not given to God cannot separate the precious from the vile (Jeremiah 15:19) or
the lawful from the expedient (1 Corinthians 6:12).

I urge you today, to heed to the call in our theme scripture. Give Him your heart, or as the

Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

BUILDING FROM WITHIN I

God builds from the inside to the outside. His approach has never and will never be outside in.

His Kingdom is within you. He deals with your heart and builds your physical life around that
which He has molded from within.

Not many people understand this truth. They are fixated with ensuring that the outside is perfect
and pay no regard for the work that must be done within them first.
For example, they can pray publicly but their closets are silent and dry. They may worship the
Lord with an audience but cannot bow before Him in solitude.

Whatever such a man builds is bound to fail because what makes our foundations solid is
because we are built from within.

Allow God to start from within. Let Him educate your spirit until you are as the learned man in
Isaiah 50:4.

The outside may not be perfect yet, child of the Most High, but be patient, like an egg under

BUILDING FROM WITHIN II

Everytime a man builds his life from the outside, it is an indication that there is something
misaligned to the will of God inside him.

This is because building from the outside is contrary to God's pattern of building from the inside
like we learnt in yesterday's devotional.

Take the example of Simon the Sorcerer. The Bible says that he admired the physical or outside
expressions of the gift of the Holy Spirit. He wanted to buy it without understanding what the
Spirit of God does in a man first.

In Acts 8:23(NKJV), Peter responded to him and said, "For I see that you are poisoned by
bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

Men whose hearts are set on building the outside are usually hiding inner corruption.

Jesus described this state in Matthew 23:27 when He told the Pharisees, "For you are like
whitewashed tombs—beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones
and all sorts of impurity."
Allow God start from within. He knows what is broken and needs fixing no matter how put

THE SPIRIT OF PURPOSE IN PRAYER

Your prayer life should be purpose driven and never lust driven.

Lust is transactional in nature. It seeks from the hand of God what can be used for only selfish
ends.

For example, a man may desire an anointing to heal the sick so that the world may admire him
for his power.

A minister may wish for a big congregation to satisfy an inner desire to feel important and not
because His heart beats for the sheep as a shepherd should.

Purpose is what unites a seeker's heart with God's and makes them one in desire and vision.

So why do you ask for certain things in prayer? Why do you want what you want? How much "I"
and "me" is in your supplication?

It is in such questions that a man's heart understands how prayer becomes grounded in divine
purpose.

THE SPIRIT OF STABILITY

The realm of God abhors instability.

It is the unstable that are tossed about by all manner of winds.

One example of such winds is described in Ephesians 4:14 as the winds of doctrine. By these
winds, a believer hops from one shepherd to the next in search of the next 'deep' revelation.

Another wind are the cares of this world. Some people are one problem away from walking out

You cannot make progress in life if you are unstable because the spirit of stability is the

Yes, they were saved but their salvation was not steeped in divine strength.

Of such Christians, the Bible says, "If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small."
(Proverbs 24:10).

It is the realm of wisdom and knowledge that makes you strong in salvation. These are the
guarantee that you will not faint in your journey; they will preserve you through the storms and
the fires until hell admits that you truly are a strong Christian.

Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: It is the realm of wisdom and knowledge that makes you strong in
salvation. These are the guarantee that you will not faint in your journey; they will preserve you
through the storms and the fires until hell admits that you truly are a strong Christian.

PRAYER: My Father, I thank You for this word. My spirit is open to you this day more than ever
before. I am taught by You in all ways. The sun does not go down without Your voice to my
spirit. My life is a sum total of Your instructions and Your spirit telling me which way I should
go. In Your guidance and counsel I find strength, in Jesus' name, Amen.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 (KJV): For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will
have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH

Salvation is a great and wonderful gift. We celebrate it because it is the gateway to eternal life.

However, there is more to Christian living than getting saved.

Our theme scripture tells us that God wants people to get saved but He also wants them to come
to the knowledge of the truth.

This knowledge of the truth is the personal relationship you build with God because You
understand His heart and mind and have experienced His person.
Many people are saved, but not many relate with God and know Him for who He truly is. The
result of such a state of affairs is described in Ephesians 4:18. They are alienated from the life of
God because of ignorance.

As such, many are struggling with disease yet salvation guaranteed them divine health because
of the life of God in them (1 Peter 2:24). They struggle with poverty yet Christ in saving them
became poor that they may be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

They have many questions about what salvation should represent because their lives are contrary
to the many promises that came with being Born Again.

But the answer, child of God, is that salvation was only the beginning. The Christian needs to
know God as well as God knows him (1 Corinthians 13:12).

Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: God wants people to get saved but He also wants them to come to the
knowledge of the truth. This knowledge of the truth is the personal relationship you build with
God because You understand His heart and mind.

PRAYER: My loving Father, I thank You for today's word. You called me out of darkness into
Your marvellous light. As a child of Zion, every day, I grow deeply acquainted with Your realm.
To know You is the greatest pursuit of my life, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Romans 3:4(KJV): God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That
thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

LET GOD BE TRUE

Truth is the nature of God. It is not merely a part of His character, it is who He is.

When He made His promises to us as written in the scriptures, they were woven into the fabric of
this very nature.

In 2 Corinthians 1:20, He assured us that His promises are Yea and in Him Amen.

In 2 Timothy 2:13, He compounds this assurance when He says that even if we do not believe,
He remains faithful because He cannot deny Himself.

How can we doubt a God who cannot break His Word because it represents His very person?

As His child, this knowledge should define the attitude with which you must relate with the
Father.

Circumstances may speak contrary to what His Word says but let God be true and everything
contrary to His promise a lie.

When you receive an evil report about your health, let God be true and the report a lie from the
pits of hell.
When you receive a termination of employment letter and the devil assures you that it is your
end, let God be true and the potential end of your career as the lie.

Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: Truth is the nature of God. It is not merely a part of His character, it is who
He is.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. Your promises have been tested by the
winds of time. I stand with a crowd of witnesses and testify that You are faithful. You will never
fail me. You are the Lord I have proved over and over again. I trusted You yesterday and will
trust You always as my helper in ages past and my hope for the years to come, in Jesus' name,
Amen.

Jeremiah 17:10(KJV): I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man
according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
IT'S A HEART ISSUE

One of the most sobering experiences of any man relating with God is understanding that God
searches the heart and when He does, He gives to every man according to the fruit of his doings.

You may fool any man but you cannot fool God because His eyes have gone past the superficial
presentations on the outside to the core of your substance.

As such, in life, you are where your heart can handle.

God weighed you and found that the success and influence you have is what your heart can
presently accommodate without destroying yourself and others.

Any man who wishes for more in God must learn to make David's kind of prayer. He cries to the
Lord in earnest and says, "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my
thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
(Psalms 139:23-24).

Instead of asking for an increase in ministry, business or career, let your prayer be for God to
deal with your heart. Once the heart is truly broken and consecrated by God, it qualifies you for
growth and multiplication.

Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: In life, you are where your heart can handle.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. My heart is Yours and I make the choice to
yield to You every day. You know me better than I know myself. Rule in my life in a way that
only You should, to the glory of Your name, Amen.

Philippians 2:8-9(KJV): And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him,
and given him a name which is above every name:

THE PATTERN OF GREATNESS

In the Kingdom of God, greatness begins from the lowest places. Jesus told His disciples in
Matthew 23:11 that the greatest of them had to be the servant of all.

The Lord set this same pattern for us as explained in our theme scripture. The Bible says He
humbled Himself and God gave Him a name above every name.

Unfortunately, we live in a generation where many people have gotten the order wrong. They
exalt themselves in an attempt to make a name for themselves.

But Christ did not exalt Himself in order to get a name. The name came because He humbled
Himself.

The lamb on the throne is the typification of humility that has been exalted.
He is the God who exalts the humble. True humility will always raise you to unimaginable
heights.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for teaching me the patterns of
greatness daily. I break and bend before You and yield to Your Spirit. In this understanding, I
choose to be a servant of men, to give of my hands, feet, mind, time and abilities, to the glory of
Your name and the expansion of Your kingdom, Amen.

Acts 20:35(KJV): I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the
weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than
to receive.

THE BLESSEDNESS OF SERVING

There are many ways to give to God. However, one of the most significant ways to do so is in
your service to Him.
I can say, with no fear of contradiction, that serving our Lord and Master is one of the greatest
joys of life.

Jesus taught us that it is more blessed to give than to receive. It means that there is more blessing
in serving than being served.

The Jesus we read of in the Bible was always a giver, not a receiver. The Bible says in Acts 10:38
that He went about doing good.

As a minister of the gospel, your work is not merely to receive from men. Because some men
and women of God do not understand this, they have become manipulative and demand from
people what they themselves are both unwilling and unable to give.

Seek to serve men. Your blessing is in serving not being served.

Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Acts 10:38; Proverbs 11:25

GOLDEN NUGGET: Seek to serve men. Your blessing is in serving not being served.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. I receive it with humility. I have given
myself to You and to the work of the gospel. I am spent and spend for the sake of souls and the
expansion of Your kingdom. I know no other life than this, in Jesus' name, Amen.

2 Corinthians 11:4(KJV): For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not
preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye
have not accepted, ye might well bear with him

ANOTHER JESUS

The Apostle Paul taught that it is possible for men to preach another Jesus.

The Jesus of the Bible had very distinct characteristics.

One of the most distinctive things about His character was His humility when He walked the
surface of the earth.

He dined with prostitutes and tax collectors, sympathised with the widows and opened His arms
to children. He did not discriminate against lepers and social outcasts. He defended the weak and
ostracised and stood His ground against the religious hypocrisy of His day.

The Bible's Jesus did not associate Himself with a specific class, social, political or otherwise.
He was with the poor and the beggarly, a true friend of sinners.

Is that the Jesus we are preaching and representing?

Today, we have ministers who are unreachable by the masses. They dwell in a 'light no man can
approach.' For some, one has to pay money to get to them.
That is another Jesus!

We have to look to the pattern the Lord set for us. He loved men, regardless of their station in life
and so must we.

Hallelujah!

example You set, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Luke 19:1-5(KJV): And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. And, behold, there was a man
named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to
see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran
before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And when
Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste,
and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

A SERVANT'S HEART

As a minister of the Lord, you should never be unapproachable and impossible to reach.

Most importantly however, you should be ready and available to reach men when they cannot
reach you.

This is regardless of how greatly anointed you are.

When Zaccheaus could not access our Lord, Jesus instead reached out to him.

I know men and women of God who live with the attitude that if someone needs them, then that
person must come to them.

Sometimes, some people cannot genuinely get to where the minister of God is because of
physical or financial constraints. You must be broken enough to reach those who, because of
uncontrollable factors, can not reach you.

You have to be humble enough to drive to the home of a man who needs you and pray for them.
You should be broken enough to go to a hospital in the middle of the night to pray for the ailing.

abroad in my heart and You love men through me. My hands, feet, mind, heart and all I am are
Yours, to reach the lost, strengthen the weary, revive the fainting, comfort the mourning and do
all manner of good things, in Jesus' name, Amen.

FIND YOUR SYCOMORE TREE

Life can give you many reasons why you should not serve God, pray, fast or believe in people
like you ought.

The reason might be financial constraints, family history, a shameful past or any shadow the
enemy may cast over your good intentions.

But the Lord does not abide excuses. In Romans 1:20, He says that we are now without excuse.
One of the primary lessons from the story of Zacchaeus is the wisdom to overcome any
limitations in our quest for God.

Zacchaeus found a tree and the Lord took notice. Find your tree.

Is it that you do not have enough transport to get to church? Child of God, find your tree, walk
there!

Is it pain in your body keeping you from praying? Take the first step of bold faith and get out of
bed.

Do you feel too unqualified to serve God because your credentials do not match up? Make the
decision to seek knowledge in that field of interest. Find your tree!

Hallelujah!

seek Your face. I rise above every limitation or obstacle that the enemy has put before me
