ABSTRACT:
In educational institutions, the prevalence of ragging, bullying, and abuse has become a growing
concern, impacting the safety and well-being of students and faculty members. To address this
critical issue and foster a safe learning environment, we present a crime reporting system designed
specifically for schools and colleges. Our system offers an end-to-end encrypted platform,
accessible through a website and mobile application, empowering students and faculty to report
incidents anonymously. The system would be developed using a variety of technologies, including
web development, mobile development, and encryption. The system would be tested thoroughly
to ensure that it is secure and reliable. The system would be deployed to a college, and the feedback
from the users would be used to make improvements to the system.
INTRODUCTION:
In educational institutions worldwide, ensuring the safety and well-being of students is of
paramount importance. However, incidents of ragging, bullying, and abuse continue to plague
campuses, adversely affecting the physical and emotional health of students and hampering their
academic performance. To combat these issues and create a safe learning environment, there is a
critical need for an efficient and secure reporting mechanism that empowers students to report such
incidents promptly and confidentially. This project proposes the development of a Secure Crime
Reporting System, specifically designed for schools and colleges, to address this pressing concern.
The Secure Crime Reporting System aims to provide a user-friendly platform through both a web-
based interface and a mobile application, catering to the preferences of today's tech-savvy
generation. A primary focus of the system is to ensure end-to-end encryption for all reported
information, thus safeguarding the anonymity and privacy of the individuals involved and fostering
a culture of trust in reporting. By incorporating anonymous reporting, the system seeks to address
the common fear of reprisals, encouraging students to step forward without hesitation. To maintain
the security and integrity of the system, robust user authentication and authorization mechanisms
will be implemented. Access to the reported incidents will be restricted to authorized personnel,
ensuring that only relevant authorities can review and address the cases effectively. By
empowering students and faculty to report incidents without fear, the Secure Crime Reporting
System aims to foster a supportive and secure educational environment. The successful
implementation of this system has the potential to revolutionize the way crime incidents are
addressed in educational institutions, making them safer and more conducive to learning for all.
This project, therefore, represents a significant step forward in the pursuit of a safer educational
landscape where every student's well-being is protected, and their voices are heard.

LITERATURE SURVEY:
The safety and well-being of students in educational institutions are paramount concerns. Incidents
of crime, harassment, bullying, and abuse can have severe consequences, affecting the physical,
emotional, and academic development of students. To address these issues effectively, there is a
growing interest in developing secure crime reporting systems tailored specifically for schools and
colleges. This literature survey aims to explore existing research, studies, and best practices related
to secure crime reporting systems for educational institutions. By reviewing the current state of
knowledge, this survey seeks to identify gaps, challenges, and successful approaches in this area
1. Studies on Crime and Safety in Educational Institutions:
The literature survey will begin by reviewing studies that focus on the prevalence and impact of
crime, harassment, and abuse in educational settings. These studies will provide valuable insights
into the types of incidents that occur, their frequency, and the consequences on students' well-
being and academic performance.
2. Existing Reporting Mechanisms in Educational Institutions:
This section will examine the literature on current crime reporting systems used in schools and
colleges. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of these systems will help identify potential
areas of improvement and inform the design of a secure crime reporting system.
3. Anonymous Reporting and Its Impact:
Anonymity is a crucial factor in encouraging students to report incidents without fear of retaliation.
The literature survey will explore studies on the effectiveness of anonymous reporting in
promoting open disclosure and enhancing campus safety.
4. Data Security and End-to-End Encryption:
This section will delve into the importance of data security in crime reporting systems. Research
on end-to-end encryption and other cybersecurity measures will be reviewed to ensure the
confidentiality and integrity of reported data.
5. User Interface and User Experience in Reporting Systems:
A user-friendly and intuitive interface is essential for successful crime reporting systems. The
survey will examine research on designing accessible platforms that cater to users of varying
technical backgrounds.
6. Impact and Effectiveness of Reporting Systems:
This section will analyze the impact of crime reporting systems on reducing incidents and
promoting a safer educational environment. Studies on the effectiveness of reporting systems will
be examined to measure their success in mitigating campus crime.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Like I want to develop crime reporting system for the schools and colleges to solve or stop
incidents of campus harassment, bullying, and abuse in colleges by report it into our portal. This
project aims to develop an effective, user-friendly, and confidential crime reporting platform to
empower students, faculty, and staff to report incidents promptly and anonymously, thereby
fostering a safe and supportive educational environment. The problem is the absence of a dedicated
and secure crime reporting system in the education sector, leading to underreporting of incidents
and inadequate responses to campus harassment and abuse cases. The lack of a user-friendly and
confidential platform contributes to the fear of retaliation, resulting in many incidents going
unreported.
