Tittle: Overview of the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) and CRLA

ACTIVITY:
Description  EGRA and CRLA were created to inform education
systems and programs and alone, is not an intervention.
Designed to measure some of the foundational literacy
skills that readers need for beginning reading, EGRA
and CRLA are collection of subtasks, each with a
specific purpose.

Objectives  To empower the school heads, lead their teachers and


students through reforms which lead to higher learning
outcome.
 In preparation for the administration of EGRA and
CRLA
 Discussion of Regional Memorandum No.000608, s.
2021.
 The program aids teachers to share some solutions on
the needs of the present education especially in
equipping learners in new normal.
 To acquire correct and accurate reading assessments.

 Discuss the process of using the EGRA and CRLA


tools for reading assessments.
Preliminaries  The School Head issued a school Memorandum to the
teachers before the orientation. The host provided
program of activities.
Design and  The program was started by a prayer, followed by the
Methodology of the singing of the national anthem conducted by Ms. Mary
Event Grace A. Gabac then Ms. Mary Joy V. Abantao lead the
Panunumpa sa Watawat and Ms. Kimverly M.Lim
conducted the Deped Samar hymn. Followed by Mrs.
Judy Ann P. Guardiano updates about the orientation.
Management and  The SLAC Host teacher organized activity for the
Monitoring Strategies success of the program.

Logistic Arrangements  The conduct of SLAC will eventually prepare the


teachers for the age of globalization. The attendance to
this session will help create an effective learning
environment, improve teaching-learning situations,
keep updated on modern instructional devices and
inspire them to become better teachers in modern
world.

Participants’ Feedback The Teachers were thankful for conducting SLAC. They

observed.

 The only challenge was the time allotted in this memorandum because it has a
