Caution:Avoid eye or skin exposure to direct radiation. Away
from children!
Always wear protective glasses when use the machine.
Prohibited from use in flammable objects or gases .
In case of emergency, cut off the power immediately.
Shutdown steps : When you are not using the machine, first cut off the
power,then turn off the software, at last dial out the USB cable.

1. Preliminaries
Welcome to Bachin maker!
This is the user guide for the Bachin laser engraving machine, interesting ,easy using and add creative on your
life. This guide is here to help you get started.
This guide is a continuing work in progress,you can download the latest software at :

2. Introducing the Bachin laser
The Bachin laser engraving machine is a simple, modern, and precise small equipment, capable of
engraving or cutting on most materials. In the continuous upgrade and improvement

of the machine, maybe the components you receive will be slightly different from the manual, but it will
not affect the normal use.
There are several types like D8-1720,D8-4050P,D8-5065P,D8-COLOR1720, although they have a slight
difference in structure , but share the same software and the same user guide.
D8-1720 is the finished product delivery,no need to assemble after receiving the goods. Just connect all
the cables follow the Section 3.3 Unboxing.
The other types like D8-4050P,D8-5065P,and D8-COLOR1720 is shipped parts, needs its own assembly,and
provide a detailed assembly tutorial in the USB flash driver.

3. Checking out your package
3.1 Parts and accessories
Here are the parts :

The same accessories are available for different models of machines, such as D8-1720/ D8-
4050P/ D8-5065P/ D8-COLOR1720.
3.2 Machine anatomy
Let us look at the different parts of the Bachin laser engraving machine. We will refer to these parts by
name throughout this guide. These features are common to each model , though

appearances may vary slightly.

3.3 Unboxing
The cables of the X&Y motors are disconnected for shipping. You need to connect all the cables as
shown:

Safety operation need to know: when you want to disconnected any cables ,you need to cut off
the power supply firstly.
4.To prevent vibration and fixed
4.1 To prevent vibration
In order to achieve better engraving accuracy, it is necessary to place a non-slip material under the foot
of the machine. Such as sponge paper , EPE foam.

4.2 Fixed
Some of the lighter materials need to be fixed during the engraving process,such as the
paper ,the other materials does not need special fixing.If you need to cutting, please put a piece of wood
or cardboard on the desk to prevent damage to the desk.
5.Control software
5.1 Software description
Engraver Master--the software is easy to use, free upgrades. Supported with windows XP,
WIN 7, WIN 8 and WIN10. You can find the driver from the USB flash drive or
download it at: http://www.bachinmaker.com/wiki
Directly to generate the tool path and no need to trans-code. The file format that can be imported
is:jpg,jpeg,png,dxf,g-code(NC file),and so on.
Engraver Master not the only software could be used,you can use the Grbl Controller .

5.2 Installing software
Run setup.exe which is from the USB flash driver or download from :
http:bachinmaker.com/wiki （the USB cable should connect to the computer）
After installed, you will find an icon Named Engraver Master on computer desktop and
the Start Menu.Double click the icon to start :

Connection failed:
Reasons for failure to connect:
1> If connection failed ,check the Device Manager of computer,find USB-SERIAL CH340 Port Device.
If there is an exclamation point on the device,it means the installation failed .you should delete the
icon ,and install again. Sometimes the software install succeeded but can not connected to the machine ,
restart the computer.
2> The installation is no problem,but can not connect the machine, you should check the USB cable or
your USB port of the computer, change a USB cable or change a USB port.
3> Exclude the above reasons,Check the NANO which is on the control board (the blue module connected to
the USB cable) ,when there is a small light kept flashing, maybe the firmware was

missing,update the firmware as follow:
4> If connection failed ,check the Device Manager of computer,find USB-SERIAL CH340 Port Device.

6.Start engraving
This chapter let you know and become familiar with the machine through simple engraving.
6.1 Making your first engraving
Please follow the steps below:
1>Firstly, connect all the cables :power supply , USB cable,motor cables and laser cable；power on

3>Run Engraver Master and connection succeeded,selected Laser on (weak)
2500mW laser for example

5>Adjust the focus to the smallest spot,must wear the protective glasses :
6>Now ,test the focus good or not: NC Sender >>> choose a file :star(follow Image 1) >>> Speed : 1900
>>> Device Settings :Laser power 100%(Image 2) >>> Click on ‘Start’ ,the line of the engraving star is
very thin and smooth. About adjust the focus,we will show more details on chapter 9.
Tips: Different laser module should set different speed , the speed of 500mw laser should set :900-
1500,and 1000-1600mw set 1200-2000, 2500-5500mw set 1600-3000.If you want to cut something ,
the speed should setting more slower.

7>Now ,the focus is good ,and let’s try more engraving. Place the wood piece under the laser. NC
Sender >>> Choose one of My NC Files: lianhua >>>Speed:2200>>> Test Size >>>Start

8>Let’s load a picture from your computer or from the USB flash driver ,we’ve prepared several pictures for
you.Place the circle wood under the laser.

9>Now let's continue with the text engraving.

Now,maybe you have basically mastered NC Sender.This is the most common mode of engraving,it can
satisfy most of the engraving needs.More details about the NC Sender on chapter 7.2
10>Let's learn more about the engraving---Grayscale engraving.Here are the steps. (
2500mw laser for example.)
Step 1: Print Picture >>> Prepare Excellent Quality Photo >>> load picture

Tips: Print Picture mode can engraving more details of the photo,but it’s slower then NC Sender . When
you use 500mw laser ,the power set 70%~100%; 1000mw and 1600mw set the laser power :40%~60%;
2500mw,5500mw and 7000mw ,set power 15%~35% will be good. And different material set different power
and speed.

6.2 Cutting
Materials like corrugated paper, cardboard, kraft paper, sponge paper, wood(thickness within
5mm),leather(thickness within 1.5mm),etc. are suitable for cutting.
Now,let’s try on the kraft paper.( 2500mw laser for example.)

7. Software anatomy
This section first introduces the main parts of the Engraver Master. See the top menu of the interface
,there have :Print Picture,NC Sender,Quick Tagging and Device Settings.
7.1 Print Picture–
Suitable for gray style , and it's slower then NC Sender

Enter text: enter the text , and edit text.
Picture editing: load picture , gray style, invert ,flip.The main application is gray style.
Start /stop: start , stop, pause, and text size. It’s very important to text the size before start engraving.
Burning Time:affect engraving speed. Drag to left ,speed slower,drag to right,speed faster.
Work area: you can adjust the display area , not the picture size . The maximum area is 200mm, Do not
exceed the maximum area.
7.2 NC Sender & Quick Tagging–
Automatically generate path files without trans-coding, fast speed and good effect.Recommended！ Prefer this
engraving mode.
Load NC file: load NC file (g-code file); load CAD DXF file(tips: Some versions of the file are not
compatible, When you save DXF files, select version: AutoCAD 2000, and the unit is mm).
Start /speed: Repeats(Repeated several times when used for cutting);Speed(to adjust the speed); test size:
test the size before start,for positioning).
Create image Nc file: load picture from computer,adjust the details and size. Select the mode that you like.
Look at the difference:

When change the size value, don’t forget click OK. The pixel size is no need to change ,software
automatic matching.
Create text Nc file: enter the text and select one of the font ,setting the char height and line height, then
create. Outline is just like the cutting mode .
Quick Tagging: The main function is 1-stroke font. Simple and fast , but there just have one
font.Can be used to engrave some simple production batch numbers.

7.3 Device Settings
Setting the speed,laser power ,machine type and so on. Don't forget click on Save Settings when change
any settings.
1>Apply Machine default settings: Generally speaking, All parameters have been set before shipping.if
you change any settings , you want to restore the factory settings. Just select the type and click the Apply
machine default settings button.
2>Laser optimization : Make the engraving lines smoother:

3>Acceleration & Moving speed : When the value is larger, the speed of engraving is faster. Materials
that are easier to engrave, such as wood, leather, paper, etc. Suggest the value of the acceleration and
moving speed is about :1000-1500. When you want to cutting ,the value suggest 800 or less.
4>Steps: the correct steps is :X/Y motor :100, Z motor:800. In
most cases, it's not necessary to change the settings.
5>Adjustment : In a few cases, the X or Y axis is inverted , that need to adjust.
6>Saving Settings: every time you change any settings,should click the Saving Settings button.
7>Laser Power : adjust the laser power . Sometimes you may need a lower power , just drag the button to left
.100% meas the maximum power of laser.
8> Weak Light Adjust :adjust the weak light of laser.
9>My Laser Type : it's not necessary to select the types,the software automatically match.
10>Update Board Firmware : this basically does not have to be used.

8. Origin setting and Positioning
The origin of the Engraver Master is on the down left corner,the position of this is fixed and cannot be changed.
The origin of the laser machine is movable,can be moved by hand. Move to the position that have enough space for
engraving. It is very important to test size before starting.

9. Focusing
Focus adjustment well or not, directly affect the effect of engraving：
Steps for focus adjustment:
1>Wear protective glasses
2>Slowly twist the focus head by hand,adjusted to the minimum spot . Twist to the left or right, be careful: if you have
already reached the focus and continue to screw, the spot will become larger. So be sure to slowly twist.
3>The distance between the object and the focus head is at least 3CM, which is better to adjust the focus. If it is too close,
it cannot be adjusted.
4>When you engraver on different objects, the same thickness or change less than 5mm,you should not to adjust the focus
again,if the thickness change more than 5mm ,suggest you adjust focus again.

11. Maintenance and troubleshooting
The Bachin laser engraving machine should not require any regular maintenance under normal conditions.
1>Service, repair, and parts support: The Bachin laser engraving machine is designed to be
serviceable, and we are here to help. Nothing should require regular replacement. However, most parts
of the machine can be unscrewed and replaced if necessary. Please contact technical support directly if
you need assistance with troubleshooting or repairing a mechanical issue.

2>Machine can not move : Confirm all the cables are connected to the control board . The
power supply have connected and press the power switch. Check the Engraver Master was
connected. if the laser work but X/Y axis not move , possibility the stepper motor driver was
damage. Contact the seller to change a new one.
3>Laser module can not work: have light but can not engraving anything,maybe the weak
light button is pressed ,just press it again. When use a lone time ,a weak light is emitted,possibility the
module was broken.No light at all, check if the power is on or if the line is damaged.
4>In order to judge the fault more accurately, please take a photo or take a video and send it to us or to
