Question 1

You are running a project to engineer and implement a set of business processes and a
software solution for customer relationship management. The project involves a large
number of organizations―a Major Corporation and many suppliers of different sizes.
During the project, you observe the effects of the differences between the companies’
corporate cultures. This leads to different expectations on how the project should be
handled—as well as to frequent misunderstandings between stakeholders. Another
effect is a growing degree of distrust and skepticism.

What should you do to solve the above stated problems? Provide relevant examples.
(10 marks)

Anda menjalankan projek untuk merekayasa dan melaksanakan satu set proses
perniagaan dan penyelesaian perisian untuk pengurusan perhubungan pelanggan.
Projek ini melibatkan sebilangan besar organisasi―Perbadanan Utama dan banyak
pembekal dengan saiz yang berbeza. Semasa projek, anda melihat kesan perbezaan
antara budaya korporat syarikat. Ini membawa kepada jangkaan yang berbeza
tentang cara projek itu harus dikendalikan—serta kepada perselisihan faham yang kerap
antara pihak berkepentingan. Kesan lain ialah tahap ketidakpercayaan dan keraguan

Adit was just transferred to another branch office as the project manager. He
noticed that during project executions, there were many conflicts in the team on
both technical and interpersonal levels. He knows that if these conflicts are not
solved immediately, the project might affected in the long run.

Explain THREE (3) appropriate ways of handling conflicts. Provide relevant


examples. (10 marks)

Adit baru sahaja ditukarkan ke pejabat cawangan lain sebagai pengurus projek.
Beliau menyedari bahawa semasa pelaksanaan projek, terdapat banyak konflik
dalam pasukan di peringkat teknikal dan interpersonal. Dia tahu bahawa jika
konflik ini tidak diselesaikan dengan segera, projek itu mungkin terjejas dalam
jangka masa panjang.

Terangkan TIGA (3) cara yang sesuai untuk menangani konflik. Berikan contoh

Company ABC is a growing company. Due to the recent expansion which occurred
by the acquisitions in 8 different countries, ABC now works with 3 different ERP
(Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. The result is that they don’t have a
common computer language in the company, and this prevents them from using out
global presence to receive bulk discounts, lower logistical expenses and shipment
tariffs.

Based on the above statement, discuss the ABC’s approach to meet the objective of
continuously improving the efficiency, reducing costs and capitalizing on the global
presence. Provide relevant examples. (10 marks)

Syarikat ABC ialah syarikat yang sedang berkembang. Disebabkan pengembangan baru-
baru ini yang berlaku oleh pengambilalihan di 8 negara berbeza, ABC kini berfungsi
dengan 3 sistem ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) berbeza. Hasilnya ialah mereka
tidak mempunyai bahasa komputer biasa dalam syarikat, dan ini menghalang mereka
daripada menggunakan kehadiran global untuk menerima diskaun pukal, perbelanjaan
logistik yang lebih rendah dan tarif penghantaran.

Berdasarkan pernyataan di atas, bincangkan pendekatan ABC untuk memenuhi objektif

Risk is defined as “Hazards or events that provide unwanted effects or


disadvantages”.

(a) Identify the types of risk that may typically occur in a construction project,
from the concept phase through to the handover of the completed project. (2
marks)

(b) Risk Management Planning is used to minimise risk on projects. State the steps
to be taken to develop a Risk Management Plan. (5 marks)

(c) What is the critical path of a construction project and what information is
required to construct a critical path method flow chart? (3
marks)
