RESTRICTED Army Code No Gen (A) 03 CEREMONIAL aR ee ARMY Prepared under the direction of Gb ——_= MINISTRY OF DEFENCE Chief of Army Staff LAGOS September 1975 RESTRICTED CHAPTER 1 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS SECTION 1 SCOPE OF THE PAMPHLET Introduction. 1. Ceremonial parades are a constant source of pride to the unit, and the Army as a whole. Basically, they provide an avenue for troops to exhibit espirit de corps through their impeceable performances in drill and turnout. 2. Parades have always been used to measure the standard of leadership and discipline in units. This is so because drill makes troops forget their individuality and act in unison to order; and once the elements of discipline have been instilled into them through Grill and parades, it becomes part of the unit and this is of tremend- ous advantage in any situation, both in war and peace. = 3. Thi let is a continuation of Drill (All Arms), Its pur- Eee tas to units in procedures on ceremonial parades.
