These factors that contribute to the crime were taken in the Marigot community
REASON FOR CHOOCING TOPIC
RATIONALE

The research project will be conducted in the community of Marigot.


The researcher has observed that there is a serious problem of Crime affecting the community.
The community of Marigot is located in the North East of Dominica. It has an estimated populati
on of 500 people.
METHOD OF INVESTIGATION

The researcher has selected the questionnaire method for collecting data.

The questionnaire was made up of fifteen questions which were used to collect data on the cause
s, effects and solutions of the problem of Crime.
INSTRUMENT USED TO COLLECT DATA

Dear respondent or Community menbers.

I am a form five student of the North East Comprehensive School who is completing a course in
social studies.

This is a requirement for the school based assessment project. I therefore need your assistance in
completing this questionnaire.

Procedure for data collection

The researcher built a questionnaire and administers it to twenty people. The samples consisted o
f 7 males and 13 women from the ages of 20-45 years.

The questionnaire was distributed in the community where the researcher lived. All the volunteer
s to answer the questionnaire agreed and disarmed the questions giving their own answers.

The researcher went to a sector of his columunity asking where the quedyionario was contributed
and collected on January 28th, 2024 and collected on January 29th, 2024.
