LD-0119 afghan-block

DIFFICULTY: EASY
11 cm in diameter
Yarn Used:
Stylecraft Special DK – 100% Premium Acrylic
100gr = 285 m
White (A) & Grey (B)

Crochet hook Used:


D – 3.25 mm

Size of hook is given for DK weight yarn (US terms – 3 light worsted).
Please make sure you use correct size of hook for your yarn.

Stitch Used (US terms): Special Stitches


Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st) 2 double crochet together (dc2tog) – [yo, insert hook
Single crochet (sc) in indicated st, yo, draw up a loop, yo, draw through
Half double crochet (hdc) 2 loops] – 2 times, draw through 3 loops on hook.
Double crochet (dc)
Front post double crochet (fpdc) Picot – ch3, join with slip stitch into 1st ch.

Yarn (A), ch6 join with sl st to form a ring.


Rnd1: ch3 (to count as 1st dc), dc in same st, ch3, [dc2tog in ring,
ch3] – repeat 5 times around, join with sl st in 3rd ch.
Rnd2: ch3 (to count as 1st dc), 5dc in 1st arch of ch3, [dc in dc2tog,
5dc in next arch of ch3] – repeat around 5 times, join with sl st.
Join yarn (B)
Rnd3: ch1 (does not count as 1st sc), sc in same st, [fpdc in dc2tof
from Rnd1, ch6, skip next 5sts, sc in next st] – repeat 6 times
around, join with sl st in 1st ch.
Rnd4: ch1 (does not count as 1st sc), sc in same st, picot, [in each
arch of ch6 make sc-hdc-3dc-hdc-sc, sc in fpdc, picot] – repeat
around 5 times, in last arch of ch6 make sc-hdc-3dc-hdc-sc and
join round with sl st. Fasten off.
Join yarn (A) at any central dc of 3dc with sl st
Rnd5: sc in same st, ch5, [sc in next picot, ch5, sc in next central
dc of 3dc, ch5] – repeat around. Join with sl st.
Rnd6: ch3 (to count as 1st dc), ch1, dc in same st to form a corner, [4dc in next arch of ch5, dc in sc, 4dc in next
arch of ch5, dc in next sc, ch1, dc in same st – corner] – repeat around. Join round with sl st. Fasten off.
