RESEARCH WRITTEN PROPOSAL
Objectives:
● identify the research problem you desire to pursue for the whole semester.
● provide the justifications/reasons for conducting the research.
● draft the contents of the research proposal.
GUIDELINES:
1. After choosing your final topic, it is now your turn to draft the contents of your research
proposal.
2. Please refer to the provided format for the guidelines you should follow when writing
your paper.
3. Below are the contents of your concept paper. As this is currently a draft, you can
begin with an outline and then expand it into paragraph form.
I. Title
II. The Research Problem & Research Questions
*Research Problem: This is an area of conflict, concern, or controversy
(a gap between what is wanted and what is observed). Include the most
relevant reference that supports the claim.
*Research Questions: Narrow the focus of the central question/research
problem into specific questions.
III. Background of the Study
a. More in-depth and explains why your research topic or thesis is
worth the time of your readers.
b. This indicates how even if there has been other research
conducted, there still exists a gap.
c. It includes current, previous, and relevant history surrounding
the topic being pursued.
d. Include in this part the compelling reason and motivation why
the researchers are pursuing this concept.
IV. Objectives
a. These are broad and specific objectives the paper seeks to achieve.
b. Aligned with the research problem.
c. It should be stated starting with the words ”To“ and linked to the
general and the specific area where the study is to be undertaken.
V. Scope & Delimitation
a. Topic of the study
b. Objectives or Problems to be Addressed
c. Locale of the Study
d. Characteristics of the Respondents
VI. Significance of the Study
a. Shows the importance of the topic pursued.

- Teachers
- Administrators
- Future Researchers
- Community/ Participants
b. Explains how the study can be applied to the (1) local problem,
(2) professional application, &/or (3) positive social
change (improvement of human or social conditions by promoting
the worth, dignity, and development of individuals, communities,
organizations, institutions, cultures, or societies)
VII. Review of Related Literature
- Write one paragraph review for each literature
- Minimum 5 reviews
▪ 2 from locals and 3 from internationals OR
▪ 2 from internationals and 3 from locals
VIII. References
- List all your references using APA format
