Introduction to this Workbook
Presentation This workbook contains practical exercises part of the FSA user course. The
various exercises are organized in scenario except the low temperature
computation which is a “what if”.
Document The purpose is to help you to learn how to use FSA through some basic use
purpose cases.
Target This workbook is targeted at all attendees of the FSA user course.

How to Use This document consists of a set of exercises, which you can run on your
trainee tablet.

Accessing the FSA environment
Introduction This section will help you to access the Training environment where you will
be able to play a scenario.
Accessing the Use the following guidelines:

Step Action
1 Start your Tablet.
2 Select “Flight Smart with Airbus (ME)”.
Fill in the fields of the “FLT OPS STS” page using the Flight Data

provided at the beginning of a scenario (e.g. Flight TLS-FRA).
Click on “EFB” tab and start the following applications:

Exercise 1 – Using the MEL
Introduction The logbook reports that the CHECK DOOR PRESSURE Message on the
FAP is inoperative for all passenger doors:
CHECK DOOR PRESSURE Message on the FAP.
Objective Check in the MEL, if there are penalties and find the procedure.
Guidance You can use the following guidelines:
Step Action
Select the “OPS LIBRARY” tab.

2 Access the MEL.
3 Find the item corresponding to the failure.
4 Tick the Item to insert it in the “MEL ITEMS” list.
The “MEL ITEMS” are transferred to all performance applications,

and will be taken into account for further computation.

Introduction The captain decides to perform a preliminary take-off performance
computation.
Runway 32R is in use and is currently wet.
We assume a take-off with Air Conditioning ON.
Objective What is the Maximum Performance Take-off Weight (MTOW)?
Guidance You can use the following guidelines:

1 Select the “T-O PERF” application.
2 Select the Runway in the “RWY” list located in Airport area.

and balance computation.
