OptiSIM

Manual (User guide)

Take advantage of a secured web-based tool to manage and monitor your SIM cards,
call details, invoices and much more.
To access the tool, all you need is an Internet-enabled PC with a web browser, such as
Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

1 - Login page:
- Via our SAFA TELECOM website (customer portal). Pls find below the link:
http://www.safa-telecom.com/
- Access is password protected.
2 – My Account Page:

This screen displays your basic contact information, including the email addresses which
shall receive your monthly invoices.

In addition to sending Invoices, the email addresses linked to your customer account are
important as they might be used for other types of communication such as sending order
requests, request confirmation, expiry alerts, etc.

We can specify primary recipients and other recipients in cc.


3 – Devices:

It helps you to create your own sim cards database and also it will give you the opportunity to
organize your sim cards.

This Devices front page enables you to see the information such as:

- last call date


- group and nickname (if defined)
- location of the device at last call
- activation date
- deactivation date
- class – postpaid or prepaid
- expiry date for prepaid sim card
- technology /network
- sim type

You may filter the sim cards by selecting the drop down as Active for active & suspended (if
any) sim cards, Non-Active for deactivated sim cards and New for Inactive (not activated) sim
cards.

Devices - Active Drop down:


The default screen displays your active & suspended (if any) SIM cards (as given in the below
screen shot). These sim cards are been invoiced to you for their subscription and usage (if
any).
Devices - Non-Active Drop down:
The screen displays your non-active (if any) SIM cards (as given in the below screen shot).
These sim cards are deactivated on the respective dates. These sim cards are not been
invoiced to you from the next month of the deactivation month.

Devices - New Drop down:


The screen displays your new (if any) SIM cards (as given in the below screen shot). These
sim cards are in active (not yet activated) sim cards. Once the sim cards are activated, those
respective sim cards will be seen in the Active list.

If your account contains many sim cards, you can still search a specific device in the search box. You
can search a mobile number, a sim number … even typing part of it will yield a proper result.

You may click on the sim number in order to see the mobile number, pin/puk codes … all the
information related to the respective sim card.
a) Nickname & Group Name:
Specific information can be added for the respective sim cards (optional) in the below two
fields:
Nickname: You may enter any information such as project or purchase order number or
end user name, which will be displayed beside the description of the respective sim card,
on the front page of invoice.
Character Space is 30 characters
Group name: You may enter any information such as project or purchase order number
or end user name that can be used to see subtotals by group, on your invoice (amounts in
USD).
Character Space is 20 characters.

b) Usage Alerts
Define usage alerts in USD, MB and/or minutes.
Be alerted by email when your SIM card exceeds the defined threshold
You’re then alerted every day until the end of the month with the updated balance of the
SIM card.
The alert is automatically reset the first day of each month.
c) Provisioning
Activations, Suspension & Deactivations (all SIM cards) and adding voucher for prepaid
SIM cards.
In 2012, SAFA TELECOM has introduced an activation module enabling you to create
requests online. From your SIM card page, you can easily ask for activations,
deactivations etc.

(i) Activation Procedure

a) How to send request for activation?

Pls find the below steps:

 In the device tab, pls select the drop down as New and then search the respective
sim card number (as given in the below screen shot). And click on the respective
sim card (blue link).

 Select the package/service from the drop down which you like to activate for the
respective sim card.
 You may select the additional options if required. These additional
options/services are extra charged. For more details you may contact your
account manager.
 Select credit limit and tick the box “I confirm the selected credit limit”.
 Specify when you like to activate the sim card, you may enter the current or future
date for the same and tick the box “I confirm the selected effective date”.
 You may enter any comments in the request comments box.
 Then click update button.

 After clicking update (sending request), you shall see your request order number.

 And you shall receive the order request on your provided email too. (Pls find below
the screen shot)

(b) How you will receive the activation details?

Pls find the below steps:

 Once the sim card is activated, the details shall be updated in the OptiSim and you
shall receive the activation details on your provided email too. (Pls find below the
screen shot)
(ii) Suspension / Deactivation Procedure

(a) How to send request for suspension (temporary block) or deactivation (permanent
block) for the respective sim card.

Pls find the below steps:

 In the device tab, pls select the drop down as Active and then search the
respective sim card number (as given in the below screen shot). And click on the
respective sim card (blue link).

 Select suspend or deactivate for the respective sim card.


 Specify date when you like to suspend or deactivate the sim card, you may enter
the current or future date for the same and tick the box “I confirm the selected
effective date”.
 You may enter any comments in the request comments box.
 Then click update button.

 After clicking update (sending request), you shall see your request order number.

 And you shall receive the respective order request on your provided email too. (Pls

(b) How you will receive request (suspension/deactivation) confirmation details :

Pls find the below steps:

 Once the sim card is suspended or deactivated, the details shall be updated in the
OptiSim and you shall receive the respective confirmation details through email
too. (Pls find below the screen shots)

(iii) Adding Voucher / Top-up

(a) How to send request for voucher top-up for the respective prepaid sim card.

Pls find the below steps:

 In the device tab, pls select the drop down as Active and then search the
respective sim card number (as given in the below screen shot). And click on the
sim card (blue link).
 Select the respective voucher from the drop down which you like to add on the
respective sim card.
 Specify date when you like to add the respective voucher on the sim card, you may
enter the current or future date for the same and tick the box “I confirm the
selected effective date”.
 You may enter any comments in the request comments box.
 Then click update button.

 After clicking update (sending request), you shall see your request order number.

 And you shall receive the respective order request on your provided email too.

(b) How you will receive request (top-up) confirmation details?

Pls find the below steps:

 Once the requested voucher is added on the respective sim card, the details shall
be updated in the OptiSim and you shall receive the respective confirmation details
through email too. (Pls find below the screen shot)
4 – Invoices Page:
OptiSim gives you the possibility to have your bills on time. The invoices (with fees, airtime,
total + all call details) are available in the format of PDF, Text & Excel (xls and csv). (Pls find
below the screenshot of the same).
You shall receive this PDF invoice along with the call details (csv file) through email too.

Pls find below the screenshot of the PDF invoice which you may print, save etc.

On this page, the invoice shows the total fees and consumption (if any) per SIM card and the
total amount of the invoice.

You shall be able to find our bank details after the total amount of the invoice.
(All bank transfer charges to remitter’s account).
The following pages shall show the call details (CDRs), if there is any consumption (usage) on
the respective sim cards).
You may view the total volume (MBs, minutes, SMSs, total in USD) of the consumption of your
respective SIM cards.
4 – Reports Page:
OptiSim gives you opportunity to view report for the daily and monthly usage (airtime), active,
deactivated and new sims or devices and active mobiles or MSISDNs in your data base. (Pls
find below the screen shot for the same).

Airtime:
Pls click on the Airtime link to view the daily and monthly usage, in order to have scenario of
the usage per sim card. (Pls find below the screen shot for the same).
You can view the traffic by sorting (by Device, Mobile, Tech or Call type)
Sorting by tech (e.g. all Thurayas call details together) or by call type (all SMSs together) etc.
You may search within a defined period & receive this tailored report by email.
SIM/Devices:
You can view your all active, deactivated and new sim card details with their additional
information such as type of sim card, activation & deactivation date, network & class
(postpaid or prepaid), etc. This report is available in PDF and XL format. You may download
the same (if required).

Mobiles/MSISDNs:
You can view your all active sim cards with their respective mobile/msisdn numbers.
This report is available in PDF and XL format. You may download the same (if required).

5 – Password Page:

You can change your password on your own in this very simple interface.

In case, if you forgot the password, kindly send the email to your account manager in order to reset
the same.
