ADDING WHOLE NUMBERS WITH REGROUPING

Good afternoon class, yesterday we discuss addition without regrouping.

But before we proceed to our main discussion let’s review some key concepts you’ve learned.
➢ What are the things we need to do in adding numbers?
✓ First, write the numbers then start to add ones up to hundreds.
Very good! Don’t forget those concepts because that will help you to understand our topic today.

Now let’s start to discuss on how to add whole numbers with regroupings.

First, write the addends in columns.

Begin adding the ones then the tens, hundreds, thousands and so on up to the greatest value.
Regroup to the next higher place value when the answer in one column is 10 or more.
Another examples:

Again, what are steps in adding numbers with regrouping?
