REFERENCES INTRODUCTION

One of the mandates of RA 9155 or the Basic Education Act of 2001 is that “the

To support the Department of Education’s policy development process, basic re-


search agenda, and policy development implementation as stipulated in DepEd
Order 43, s. 2015, D.O. 4, s. 2016, and Regional Memorandum 60, s. 2021, the
DepEd, Schools Division of Catanduanes promulgated the Division Memoran-
dum No. 559, s. 2021 known as the “Adoption of the Division Research Manage-
ment Guidelines” to strengthen further its research practices and innovations
and to enhance the quality, access, and governance of basic education at the di-
vision level.

Hence, this handbook was crafted as it is imperative in research to follow


policy guidelines, ethical research principles, and responsibilities, as well as pro-
tocols in conducting research. As most education research heavily focus on teach-
ers and learners, and their immediate environment, researchers must observe the
highest ethical standards. Similarly, this handbook aims to provide direction for
aspiring educational researchers as they develop their research endeavors.
