 ABSTRACT

The present study shows the impact of tiktok post among grade 11 students.

To answer this question, the researchers used a online survey questionnaire that

detailed the answers of 15 from BREAD AND PASTRY(BP) from Kawit National

High School. Based on their thoughts and personal experiences with the associated

study, the results were examined by frequency and percentages. After the data

gathering procedure, the following conclusions were derived: the impact of tiktok post

on academic performance of Grade 11 Bread and Pasty students are primarily the

result of disctraction of procrastination,sleep deprivation,time management challenges

that can cause students to mis concentrate of their study.

The longstanding and widespread interest in the issue of tiktok post has

generated a vast research literature, particularly over the last ten years. We all know

that visitingt tiktok app can reduce our depression but school is a way of students to

success; it is the reason why some students are wealthy and able to focus on their

study well; however, why do many Senior High students that it is easy to be tempted

by those in that thing like tiktok? Perhaps they have a reason for doing so, or is that

the reason for them to neglect their schooling.

 REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

AND STUDIES

This chapter primarily presents the different study and other literature from

other researchers, which have significant bearings on the variables included in the

research. It focuses on several aspects that will help in the development of this study.

The study is generally concentrating the issue of tiktok post affect of academic

performance. This presents through and in-depth search the researcher considered in

strengthening the claim and importance of the present study.

Study Review

According to C,DIOL the use of application tiktok has had a very little negative
impact on teenagers and young adult students.in his study titled,tiktok influence on
teenagers and young adult students:The common usages of the application
tiktok,C.DIOL has also been able to map out the spread tiktok over the past three
years and how it has become a significant participant in the role of
influencers,creating an entreprenuerial possiblity with its growth.{8} in the research
on tiktok based on users centric theory,JIANG XIAO YU has discuss the reason
behind the huge success of tiktok.From the perspective of users centric theory,tikton
optimizes the users experience in the aspects of UCD design,content production and
form innovation,personalized service and so on.And satisfies the user's goals.In terms
of users experience,tiktok has optimize the experience in terms of interface
design,human-computer interactive,UGC,PGC and OGC content production
model,content micro narrative moves and recommended algorithm technology based
on big data,which enchanced users reality.{9}

overall,studying the impact of tiktok on students is crucial in order to understand the

potential advantages and disadvantages of popular platform.This knowlegde can
inform educators,parents and policymakers and effectively addressing the challenges
and harnessing the opportunities tiktok presents from students well-being and
development.
Literature Review

A literature riview of atinafu regasa(2018) tiktok is a social network launced in

chinese marketing2016(douyin) and internationaly in 2017(as tiktok).In 2018,it as the
most widely downloaded mobile app in the united states and other countiries,and its
currently available in more than 150 countries and it has more than 800million
monthly active users.(1)

Tiktok is a platform that,in addition to entertaining videos gives a young a global

audience access to a new format of short educational videos created by experts
authors.This perpective present several opportunitues for the dissemination of
acknowldge in various fields of science concisely and effetively.Tiktok is a video
sharing social networking service that is rapildy growing popularity.It was the second
most downloaded app in the up world in 2020.While is the platform is known for
having users post videos of themeselves dancing,lyp-syncing, or showing of other
talents,videos of users sharing specific knowlegde have increase because iniatiative
such as learn on tiktok(2).

individualy and socially.(3)social media platforms are created around the concept of
personal profile that is resembles a homepage serves to disscribe each sites.It is also
use to mke communication easy between through digital devices(4).Over 80%
adolescent own one form of new media technology,including cellphone or
computers,and use it frequently to text and message thier friends or other online.Most
adults use this platforms,including instragram,facebook,and twitter.In todays society,
the media plays an important role in guiding the values of young people(5).

Social media has become an integral portion of society,with rising usage and
prevalence since its creation and further expansion during the COVID-19
pandemic.The marked growth in social media was fueled by a large shift to all virtual
platforms for human interactions.This is driven by increased public safety measures
through widespread business and school closures,as well as lockdowns restricting
public travel and large gatherings.These stricts physical distancing measures caused
people to be haevily reliant on virtual media,especially social media,for the latest
pandemic news and to remain connected to each other.

Tiktok is one of the most popular music video social platforms through the orld,which
currently has 800 million active users in 155 countries.This video app was launched in
2017 by a chinese cmpany named Byte Dance and within one half years,it has become
the most popular short music video app in the world,Tiktik has shownover 2 billion
times on the app store and Google play.The special feature of this app is that the users
can create short videos up to 60 seconds adding background sound clips from from
the app's vast music library,and share the created videos with millions of Tiktok
users.As global web index reveals,only a small fraction of each platform's user base is
unique,many of the platforms audinces overlap.As an example,95% of facebook users
claim to utilize at least one more social site.In Sri Lanka,an incredible development in
the internet usage can be seen in comparison with many other countries.There were
10.10million social media users by January 2020(7).
 METHODOLOGY

This chapter explains various methodologies that were used in gathering data

and analysis which are relevant to the research. The methodologies will include areas

such as the research design reserach environmentnt, sampling, research instrument,

procedure, and data collection.

Research Design

This study will utilize a qualitative descriptive design which focuses on the

issue of the impact of tiktok post In this study, informants will be interviewed to

describe their experiences and perceptions towards the impact of tiktok on academic

performace. Descriptive research design is a type of research design that aims to

systematically obtain information to describe a phenomenon, situation, or population.

Research Environment

The locale of this study was conducted at Medellin, Cebu. Specifically at

Kawit National HighSchool. The researchers chose the place of implementation

because it will give the researchers the needed information of the study.

The survey was conducted among the chosen 15 students of Kawit National

High School.

Sampling

The researchers used the convenience sampling in selecting 15 students from

Kawit National High School. Convenience sampling is a non-probability sampling

method where units are selected for inclusion in the sample because they are the

easiest for the researcher to access. This can be due to geographical proximity,

availability at a given time, or willingness to participate in the research.

Research Instrument

The researchers used a online questionnaire that includes multiple questions

that must be answered by the BREAD AND PASTRY(BP)students of Kawit National

High School based on their personal thoughts or experiences

Procedure

After the approval of the research instrument to be used in order to conduct

data gathering processes, the researchers shall take the given frame to ask the

respondents on questions which will help them to construct a particular solution or

recommendation suitable for the existing problem of the study.

RESULT AND DISCUSSION

This chapter presents the results, discussions and the personal insights that the

researchers have gathered through the process of conducting investigation of the study
on the Understanding the factors contributing to college discontinuation among Grade

12 Hmanities and Social Sciences(HUMMS B). A students of Kawit National High

School,Medellin,Cebu for the academic year 2024-2025.

respondents In terms of sex, 93.3% of the respondents were males, while 6.6% are
females.

As shown on the table above the most higher level percentage is

time management that has 60%, and the second one is peer influence that

has 20% and the third one is mental health that has percentage of 13.3%

and lastly distraction that has 10% of percentage

In table 4, there were 4 total of questions. 66.6% of the respondents

agreed to how does th time spent on tiktok afftect to students academic

performance while 33.3% disagreed. 50% of the respondents agreed that

tiktok can influence students tot heir studies while 53.3%disagreed.

on thier studies while 96.6% were not. Lastly, 20% of them stated that

they have a knowlegde but they dont have enough money for thier study

while 86.6% were not.

 CONCLUSION

AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter presents the summary of findings, conclusions, and

recommendations based on the data analyzed in the previous chapter.

Conclusion

Upon through analysis and interpretation of data gathered, the following

results have been collected. The researchers’ learned a number of things from this

study. Clearly, students’ behavior and performance in school influence their decision

to stay or leave. The following conclusions were derived: The impact of tiktok post on

the academic perforcare primarily the result of lack of knowlegde, cant afford proper

descipline to their self.
