NARRATIVE
Unit 2 was moving essentially straight west bound on US-72 west near the start of the left turn lane for the US-72/Wall Triana Hwy intersection. Unit 1 was
moving essentially straight east bound in the same lane as Unit 2 moving towards Unit 2. Unit 1 collided with Unit 2's front bumper area using Unit 1's front
bumper area. Unit 1 driver said he entered the roadway from Shell at 8002 US-72 prior to collision, but refused to elaborate further when asked about his
specific maneuvers and exact entry point to the roadway. Unit 1 driver was initially suspected of alcohol impairment. Unit 1 driver was administered
standardized field sobriety tests and ARIDE tests, which were inconclusive for determining probable cause for DUI. Both Unit 2 driver and passenger were
transported from the scene to Huntsville Hospital Main priority 2 for their injuries. Unit 1 was towed by Affordable Towing to their collision lot. Unit 2 was
towed by JNS Towing to their collision lot. Unit 1 driver was issued tickets for driving wrong side of highway, open container violation, and failure to update
driver's license address. He left the scene with his work supervisor in a different vehicle. Ofc. Jones photographed collision scene and uploaded photos in
MPD share drive under this collision number.
