INTRAMURALS: VALORANT GUIDELINES
General Rules and Guidelines:
This will be the official rulebook for the VALORANT GUIDELINES. All
participants are expected to know and understand all of the rules indicated below.
Unawareness of a specific rule will not be considered an acceptable reason for
breaking the rule. Ignorance is not an excuse. Each team must have an appointed
team captain/team representative. Only the captain/representative/manager is
advised to communicate with the organizers before, during or after the matches.
TEAM/PLAYER QUALIFICATIONS:
● All players must be selected by their respective college department
mother/unit organization.
● All players must be in the same college department.
● All candidates must not have won in any national competition or international
that has similar nature as the contest category being participated.
● All players are required to register through google forms that are provided by
the Organizers.
● All players must be enrolled as official students in the University of Science
and Technology of Southern Philippines, Cagayan De Oro City - 2ND
SEMESTER 2023-2024.
● All players must register/participate in one esports game only.
Players/Teams who are found to have duplicate entries will have their
registration voided without notice. Please register responsibly.
● Each team’s roster must have 5 main players and 1 substitute player. In case
of an emergency, and a team needs a stand in, the team captain should
inform the game marshalls/facilitators before the match officially starts. Only
the substitute player shall only be the stand in. Failing to do so will result in an
automatic disqualification.
● Any Last minute changes once the tournament has started (changes eg
Players, Team name, player IGN, etc.) will be not entertained.
● Elimination, Semi-finals, and Finals: shall be held online therefore students
who wish to participate shall play in their respective homes.
● Players must register and submit all requirements before or on the said date,
failure to submit will result in disqualification.
● For online tournaments (VALORANT and DOTA 2), we encourage everyone to
prepare cameras during the tournament as we will have ‘on-cams’ during the
game. The cameras should be facing the player’s monitors. Marshals will
conduct necessary steps to conduct player identification verifications before
the match.
● Once the tournament starts, you cannot replace any registered player.
PLAYER BEHAVIORS:
All players and team in-game leaders must adhere to the highest levels
of sportsmanship and fair play. Penalties will be imposed based on the
offense. Players and team managers who are discovered swearing or acting
hostilely towards their opponents or event staff will receive a warning on the
first offense. Continued offenses may result in match forfeiture or, worse,
disqualification from the tournament.
Players and Team Representatives will act professionally at all
times and may not curse or use vulgar or inappropriate language. All rules of
conduct also apply to chatting through the game.
DISQUALIFICATION
● Dishonest or fake information: This includes using ‘dummy’ facebook
accounts, or any form of dishonesty in submitting player information, etc.
Dishonest and wrong information will disqualify the whole team. Failure to
follow, shall result in disqualification of the team.
● A team who shows bad behavior, toxicity and attitude problems in-game, in
chats, and in public postings including disrespecting the organizers of the
tournament shall receive warnings. ‘Teabagging’ is not allowed. Warnings are
available per team:
○ 1st offense: Warning
○ 2nd offense: Disqualification.
● Dishonest and wrong information will disqualify the whole team. Make sure
your players are not joining multiple teams or have duplicate entries or fake
information. Failure to follow, shall result in disqualification of the team.
● No show or failure to have a complete team on the agreed time and after the
given 10-minutes waiting time allowance. Failure to follow, shall result in
disqualification of the team.
● For a Bo3 or Bo5 series match, failure to have a complete team on the agreed
time after the given 10-minute waiting time will result in forfeiture of a game,
thus resulting in the opponent team earning one (1) point for the series.
● Any form of cheating. This includes the use of 3rd party apps, piloting or
accounts played by unregistered players, etc. Failure to follow, shall result in
disqualification of the team.
● Any bug abuse or map exploits are prohibited. Exploits include but are not
limited to: unbreakable killjoy nanoswarms, illegal cypher camera placements,
wall boostings, or any other game feature that is not working properly.
○ 1st offense: Warning
○ 2nd offense: Disqualification.
● Replacing disconnected players with unregistered/outside players including
6th member of the team DURING the match will not be allowed. Failure to
follow, shall result in disqualification of the team.
● Any team that will have students not enrolled in USTP-CDO for the school year
2022-2023 as a player/member is not allowed. Failure to follow, shall result in
disqualification of the team.
● Gambling before, during and after the tournament proper shall be prohibited.
Failure to follow, shall result in disqualification of the team.

● The team that wins the coin toss will be given an option to choose
whether they are ‘Team A’ or ‘Team B’

LOBBY MATCH RULES:
● The lobby creation will be made by TRACE: VALORANT Officials or Game
Marshal. The lobby must be exclusive to the participating teams only but not
limited to official TRACE game streaming heads and game marshals. Coaches
are allowed.
● The lobby creation will be made by TRACE: MOBILE LEGENDS Officials or
Game Marshal. The lobby must be exclusive to the participating teams only
but not limited to official TRACE game streaming heads and game marshals.
● Each player is required to do a self-ping-tests before the official time limit and
game lobby for the player’s sake.
● All the players have to be in the lobby before the scheduled matches - each
team will only have a 10-minute waiting time. If there are players missing
AFTER the time limit/waiting time, captains or any players from the opposing
team shall take a screenshot and send it to the official game managers for
disqualification.
● For a Bo3 or Bo5 series match, failure to have a complete team on the agreed
time after the given 10-minute waiting time will result in forfeiture of a map,
thus resulting in the opponent team earning one (1) point for the series.
● The team captain/representative must add the Tournament Organizers as
friends in-game for easy communication for both sides.
● Teams will be notified which day/ bracket they will be playing days before the
Event via group chat.
GAME MANAGERS HAS THE RIGHTS TO DECIDE AND HANDLE A SITUATION.
Game Managers can disqualify players/teams who are found to be problematic in
being part of this considerable new and small Esports Tournament community.
Game Managers can decide for the winning team or take whatever extra steps to
solve the dispute.
To avoid delays in the program of the event, delays caused by players (showing up
late, leaving the tournament lobby without a stated reason, last-minute smoke, or toilet
break) will lead to sanctions for the entire team.
MATCH RULES:
● Account: Only registered accounts shall be used for the said
tournament. Unregistered accounts will not be allowed to join the
game lobby.
● Technical Pause: Players disconnected during the match are given [3]
life pauses with [5 minutes waiting time] to reconnect back from the
match. The disconnected player cannot be replaced by another player.
If the said player hasn’t reconnected by the given time, the team must
continue the match without the disconnected player. Before unpausing,
both teams shall agree by typing ‘ready/r/g’ for confirmation. If the
opposite party does not affirm its preparedness, your opponent's pause
time report begins. Players should inform the marshal to pause before
the round starts. No pause will be made if the players will request a
pause below 10 seconds before the round starts. Only marshals are
allowed to pause.
● Tactical Pause: For tactical pauses, players are to type /timeout on the
chat. Only one [1] tactical pause is allowed per half. Every team has an
option to pause a map for up to during the match.
● Strictly no use of mobile phones and alt-tabbing during the match.
● If one of the teams will not pick all the agents in the character selection
screen and the game goes back to the lobby, the game has to be
remade with the same agent picks; If a player disconnects during the
game, the game has to continue and will not be remade.
● To file a complaint, please provide screenshots/video recordings or any
evidence that may help support your complaint. All claims of violation
of the rules are accepted for consideration within 10 minutes after the
game. If there are no claims after the specified time, the result of the
match can no longer be changed. It is highly recommended to keep
screenshots of all complaints, violations, misbehaviors, and match
results until the end of the tournament.
● Any situation not covered in the rules will be handled by the tournament
organizers.
● Player Appeal
Any appeal made to referees by players of a game must follow
protocols relatively similar to the ones seen below:
Appeals must be immediately communicated to the present
Tournament Working Committee before arbitration can be
commenced.
Whether or not the Tournament Working Committee will be
involved, they must always be apprised of current situations where
referees will commence a necessary arbitration.
At any point, should the Tournament Working Committee feel
the need to intercede, referees must be ready to turn over all
information and work closely with said Tournament official to resolve
the issue as quickly as possible.
Referees are not allowed to consent to any demands made by
the teams of their own accord.
The Tournament Working Committee will judge appeals of
erroneous judgments made by referees.
The Tournament Working Committee can assess any decision
made during or after a game in order to confirm whether or not the
correct procedure has been implemented.
If the correct procedures have not been abided by, the
Tournament Working Committee reserves the right to overrule the
referee's decision.
The Tournament Working Committee maintains the right to
make the final decision on all decisions throughout the duration of the
tournament.
BRACKETING: Bracketing will be discussed during orientation
and will be presented LIVE.
GAME RESULTS:
All outcomes must be submitted to the TRACE: VALORANT OFFICIALS
immediately following the match. The captain of the winning team must
submit the results in the discord group via screenshots. If there are any
disagreements about the game's outcome, and or to address complaints and
allegations of cheating, all players are REQUIRED to record their game at all
times. The complaining team should address their complaints immediately
after the following game, presenting proof or receipts.
