Job Description

Position: Financial Analyst


Direct Reporting Line: Financial Planning & Analysis Manager
Functional Reporting Line: Financial Planning & Analysis Manager
Dept/Business Unit: Finance/Proserv Controls

Role Synopsis

The Financial Analyst will report directly to the FP&A Manager and will assist in the delivery of the key
department’s responsibilities listed below.

The Financial Analyst provides financial data analysis support to the FP&A manager and finance leadership
team, closely working with Site Finance and Business leads.

The role requires a dedicated individual who is looking to develop financial reporting and analysis and cross-
functional skills by interacting with a variety of functions.

Key Accountabilities (includes, but is not limited to the following)


• Management Reporting
o Prepare month-end management reports with consolidated output data from ERP systems for
the FP&A manager’s further review & analysis.
o Support FP&A manager with group reconciliation & analysis of;
▪ Working capital
▪ Revenue/Margin by project & product line
▪ Direct cost, absorption/utilization, SG&A
▪ Bookings and Backlog
o Coordinate with Site Finance managers to consolidate detailed explanations over P&L and
Working Capital variances vs forecast/budget etc.

o Partner with other Finance functional areas to problem solve any consolidation issues resulting
from month-end activities.
o Continual process improvement focused on reducing manual adjustments and processing time
whilst increasing the accuracy of month-end close.

• Budgeting & Forecasting


o Support FP&A manager with P&L and Working Capital template & financial modeling updates
for quarterly forecast, annual budget, and strategic multi-year plans.
o Support Group Finance team with Forecast Consolidation in ERP system and validate output
data with finance leads.
o Support FP&A manager and ERP team with enhancement/development of key forecasting
tools.

• Financial Analysis & Value Creation


o Support FP&A Manager in identifying any opportunities to automate, streamline and
harmonize reporting requirements.
o Perform analysis that identifies value creation opportunities across the business.
o Perform Gross Margin analysis by Sites, Project Margin analysis by Product families, and other
analyses to track performance and identify business opportunities.
o Perform various forecasting, trend lining, and other analysis to predict yearly performance and
long-term view.
o Dive deeply into financial data and become a subject matter expert to provide additional
insights.
o Support FP&A manager with the creation of effective and standard financial modeling
templates and Power BI dashboards across global Sites.

• Perform any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe
specified safely and efficiently to meet business requirements.

Qualifications

Education
Preferred
• Finance & Accounting or business degree

Skills & Experience


Experience
Essential
• 2-4 years of professional experience in financial reporting and data analysis, preferably within a
manufacturing or services company with global operations.
• An ability to perform extensive variance analysis, flag disconnects, and package data/information for
additional analysis and resolution.
• Experience with reconciliation work, specifically in performing reconciliations when the source
information/data is scattered across various files/systems.
• Very strong Excel skills including experience with financial/operational model building, pivot tables, and
advanced formulas.
• Experience working with enterprise financial management systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX.
• Committed, detail-oriented, self-starter with strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Work well under pressure and under challenging deadlines in a fast-paced organization.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly and accurately convey
complex metrics and analysis to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Flexible approach requiring the ability to support international operations across multiple time zones
and a variety of cultures.
• Strong MS Office skills.
