Q. No Questions Marks CO BL PI
Q.1 a) What are the standard sizes of drawing sheets
according to I.S.I. and which is suitable for drawing 4 CO1 L2 10.1.1

work?
b) What are the different methods of dimensioning?
Draw figures in support. Explain with simple
8 CO1 L2 10.1.2
sketches, the methods of dimensioning - (i) circles (ii)
radii (iii) angles (iv) spherical shapes (v) holes.
c) The difference between what the full scale represents
to what 4/5 of the scale represents is 1 m. the RF of the
8 CO1 L4 1.3.1
scale is 1:25. Construct the scale and mark a distance
of 3.75 metres on it.
d) On a map, a line 30 cm long represents a distance of
450 metres. Construct a diagonal scale, for this map,
showing divisions of 50 cm and capable of measuring 8 CO1 L5 1.4.1

300 metres. Also show on the scale a distance of 176.5

metres.
Q.2 a) Name the principal planes of projections. What is the
4 CO2 L2 10.1.1
principle of projection?
b) A point is equidistant from three principal planes.
The view from the above is below XY and the view
from the front above XY. The linear distance between 8 CO2 L3 1.4.1

the above two views measures 80 mm. Draw the three

views.
c) A line AB, 65 mm long is inclined to H.P. at an angle
of 450.its end point A is 15 mm above the H.P. and 25
mm in front of V.P. line AB is contained by a vertical
8 CO2 L4 1.4.1
plane making an angle of 450 to the V.P. draw the
projections of the line. Find the inclination of the line
with V.P. and locate its traces.
d) The projectors of the ends of a line AB are 5 cm apart.
The end A is 2 cm above the H.P. and 3 cm in front of
8 CO2 L4 10.3.1
the V.P. the end B is 1 cm below the H.P. and 4 cm
behind the V.P. determine the true length and traces
of AB and its inclinations with two planes.
Q.3 a) What is the difference between prism and pyramid? 4 CO3 L2 10.3.1

b) A semi-circular plate of 80 mm diameter has its

straight edge in the V.P. and inclined at 450 to the
8 CO3 L4 10.1.3
H.P. the surface of the plate makes an angle of 300
with the V.P. draw its projections.
c) A square prism base 40 mm side and height 65 mm,
has its axis inclined at 450 to the H.P. and has an edge
8 CO3 L4 10.3.1
of its base, on the H.P. and inclined at 300 to the V.P.
Draw its projections.
d) Draw the projections of a hexagonal pyramid base
30mm side and axis 60 mm long having its base on the
8 CO3 L3 10.3.1
ground and one of the edges of the base inclined at
450 to the V.P.
Q.4 a) When the auxiliary planes are used? What are the
4 CO4 L3 1.3.1
types of auxiliary planes?
b) A hexagonal pyramid, base 30 mm side and axis 70
mm long, resting on its base on the ground with two
of its edge parallel to the V.P. the horizontal section
plane cut the axis at a point 35mm from the apex. The
other plane which makes an angle of 450 with the H.P. 8 CO4 L4 10.3.1

also intersects the axis at the same point. Draw the

front view, sectional top view, true shape of the
section and development of the surface of the
remaining part of the pyramid.
c) A triangular prism, base 30mm side and axis 50mm
long, is lying on the H.P. on one of its rectangular
faces with its axis inclined at 300 to the V.P. it is cut
8 CO4 L4 10.3.1
by a horizontal section plane at a distance of 12 mm
above the ground. Draw its front view and sectional
top view.
d) A square pyramid of base 30 mm sides and axis 40
mm long has its base on HP such that an edge of its
base is perpendicular to VP. It is cut by a horizontal 8 CO4 L4 10.3.1

section plane bisecting the axis. Draw the

development of the frustum of square pyramid.
Q.5 a) What is an isometric scale? 4 CO5 L2 1.3.1

b) Draw front view, top view & left hand side view of
the isometric figure shown:

8 CO5 L4 10.3.1
c) Draw isometric view of frustum of a pentagonal
pyramid whose one of its base edge is parallel to VP
and corner opposite to that base edge is facing 8 CO5 L3 10.3.1

observer. Axial height of frustum is 60mm, base edge

is 30mm & top edge is 20mm.
d) A cube of sides 60mm is resting on the ground. A
cylinder of base diameter 50 mm and height 60mm is
kept over that. On top of the cylinder, a hexagonal
8 CO5 L5 10.3.1
pyramid of side of base 20 mm and altitude 40 mm is
kept. The axis of the three solids lies in the same
vertical line. Draw the isometric view.
