to You?
Curriculum is the heart of education. From
planning, to implementing and evaluating, it is
considered as the central point and the brain
system of how education should work.
Teachers, being the curricularists, play a vital

role in the implementation. They execute all

make the curriculum more effective. Students,
on the other hand, are the product of the
curriculum. They serve as the basis of how
effective the curriculum is.
A curriculum, to me, is the structured
framework that outlines the educational
content, objectives, and experiences designed
to guide students’ learning. It includes the
subjects, topics, and skills that should be
taught, as well as the methods of instruction
and assessment used to evaluate student
progress. Essentially, it's the roadmap that

teachers follow to ensure that students
achieve specific learning outcomes. A well-
designed curriculum balances knowledge
acquisition with critical thinking, creativity,
and the development of practical skills. It acts
as a guide because it is intended to help
teachers teach the subjects that are most
important to the students' learning.
College Teacher Curriculum is educational that effectively
outlines what students should learn and be
able to do at different stages of their
education. It includes clear objectives,
organized content, and appropriate
assessments to ensure students acquire the
necessary knowledge and skills.

For me, Curriculum is a knowledge and skills

to be learned, and a totality of a student
experiences that occur in an educational
process. Therefore, it is a standards-based
sequence of planned experiences where

content and applied learning skills.
Curriculum is the central guide for all
educators as to what is essential for teaching
and learning, so that every student has access
to rigorous academic experiences.
Curriculum is one of the guides that teachers
use to teach us and to enhance the learners
knowledge and capability. Curriculum also
changes as time goes by. For example, in our
generation, when we were in high school, we
had a K–12 curriculum as a basis for what
teachers should teach to their students, and

now the government has changed it to a
college student
Matatag curriculum, where the students
spend 45 minutes focusing on enhancing their
reading, mathematics skills, and real-life
experiences. Through this curriculum,
teachers also improve themselves so that they
can teach the students properly and gain
more knowledge from them.
Write here your observations on the similarities and differences of their
definition of the curriculum.
The curriculum plays an important role in education, and different
people have varying views on what it means. Based on our
online/messenger interviews with an Elementary Grades Teacher, a
School Principal, a College Teacher, a Student Teacher, and a Non-
education College Student, there are both similarities and
differences in how they define the curriculum.
One similarity among all the respondents is that they see the
curriculum as a guide for teaching and learning. They agree that it
outlines what should be taught in schools and helps ensure that
students learn what they need to know. For example, the
Elementary Teacher and School Principal both describe the
curriculum as a roadmap that teachers follow to help students
achieve specific learning outcomes. Similarly, the Student Teacher
and the Non-education College Student talk about how the
curriculum guides teachers in providing academic experiences for
students.

Another common point is that most of them view the curriculum as
a structured and organized framework. The School Principal,
College Teacher, and Student Teacher all mention that the

curriculum includes clear objectives and content that help students
learn effectively. This shows that they see the curriculum as
something carefully planned to make sure students get the
knowledge and skills they need.
However, there are also differences in how they understand the
curriculum. The elementary teacher, for example, sees teachers as
“curricularists” who not only follow the curriculum but also play an
important role in implementing and shaping it through different
strategies. This perspective is different from the others, who
mainly view the curriculum as a set guide that teachers follow,
without emphasizing the teacher’s role in developing it.
In conclusion, while everyone interviewed agrees that the
curriculum is essential in guiding education, they have different
views on the role of teachers, the scope of the curriculum, and its
ultimate purpose. These differences reflect their unique
perspectives and experiences within the educational system.
