We oppose the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v.

Federal Election Commission, and support the move to amend our U.S. Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.

Overview of the Caucus Process The caucus meetings begin with the pledge of allegiance. A caucus chair and secretary will be elected by the body to run the meeting and take notes. After the chair and secretary are elected, candidate representatives from each campaign are given time to speak on behalf of their candidate. Once the speakers have finished, sheets of paper are be passed out to every registered Iowa Republican from the precinct. Voters then write down their candidate preference. All votes are then collected. Every vote is counted and reported. We will be reporting the votes for Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Buddy Roemer, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, No Preference, and Other. No Preference votes include those who vote present, no preference, uncommitted, or none of the above. Within fourteen days of the caucus, certified results will be released for a complete breakdown of all caucus votes that were cast by precinct. After the Presidential preference poll is completed the caucus will elect precinct committee representatives; delegates, alternates, and junior delegates to the county convention; and discuss and submit platform resolutions for consideration at the county convention.

Take the Country

Why?
Thanks to the infamous U.S. Supreme Court decision, corporations now have the same First Amendment rights as individual people and spending money is now considered a form of free speech. Therefore, corporations can give undisclosed amounts to Super political action committees (PACs), which then can run all the negative misleading attack ads they want! One need only to look to Iowa to see this in action; in 2004 $1.5 was spent by outside interest groups across the nation before the Iowa Caucuses, and this year they have spent $5.8+ million in Iowa alone! Money buys access and influence in this system, and the average citizen does not have the money to buy access to politicians and influence on legislation. We

Let your voice be heard-Ours is the best government this world has to offer, participate in charting its course! -Now, more than ever, we need to ensure that every citizens voice is heard.

Consider introducing and supporting these resolutions to Iowa Republican Party Platform.

Resolutions to Support and/or IntroduceIn an effort to get Americans back to work and to help American Industry to be competitive in the 21st Century, we support increased Federal Spending on infrastructure projects, including repairing and upgrading our Roads, Schools, and our In order to ensure that those who labor, who create, who work, can continue to support their families and achieve the American dream, We support an immediate increase to the federal minimum wage, and further support all future increases be tied to pay increases that the members of the United States Congress votes for themselves. To help curb the speculation and end the gambling on Wall Street that caused the 2008 economic crash, we support the Wall Street Trading and Speculators Tax Act, which would impose a tax of 0.03 percent on financial transactions.

Why?
Record unemployment along with a crumbling of our schools, roads, and needed improvements to compete in the 21st Century global economy demands that we utilize hard working Americans to rebuild the America we grew up in. If Corporate America is more interested in giving out bonuses than putting people back to work, it is up to our Federal and State From the American Society governments Of Civil Engineers to make this investment

Why?
Because average wages (in constant dollars) have not increased since the 1960s (Fifty Years!)

Why?
This Act is structured so that longterm investors would barely notice it, but traders who move rapidly in and out of positions would feel its sting and, the authors hope, reduce the volume of their speculation in response. This Act would raise $350 billion over nine years. And this is a drop in the bucket compared to the Bush/ Paulson/ Greenspan bailouts that some have estimated as much as $16 trillion (yep, thats- $16,000,000,000,000).

Remember! The government is what we make it. This is your country, take it back. The government is not the problem, its the prize!
