JIMPOT4S

When I began to consider studying law, I wrote a list of reasons why I am determined to enroll in a law
school and wanted to be a lawyer.

These ‘whys” are my motivation in pursuing my career in law.

I find a career in legal profession which is more rewarding, challenging and continually growing and the
ability to make a positive change in society.

A lawyer is a noble calling where you get to help others. It would be a privilege and humbling experience
to be in legal profession whenever you help the poor or people being deprived by their rights.

Aside from the privilege, what motivates me more is the prestige and honor of being a lawyer. Lawyers
play a vital role in the society, on how they can bring about justice and the intelligence and dedication
involved in studying and working in law.

Becoming a lawyer would also be for my professional career growth and opportunities. I am currently
handling commercial loans in a bank wherein policies and laws are part of my daily life - from AMLA
procedure, legal clearances, legal documents and contracts to litigation process. I also gained interest on
laws governing real estate since every day when packaging accounts or business proposals, I read titles
and encumbrances that made me more interested. Thus, I wanted to be part of the legal team in our
company either as litigation or a corporate lawyer.

According to former associate justice Brion, the laws permits every aspect of life, and that is very
important thing to remember when you are entering a legal profession because what you do from here and
out will greatly affect a lot of other people, you have to do it well and you have to do it the best of your
abilities.

I know it would be a tough journey. I need a lot of sacrifices, fortitude and grit. It’s like you are in a
battlefield where only the fittest will survive. I believe that it is not too late to study law. Age doesn’t
matter as long as you are dedicated and committed in your chosen path. I am ready to work hard to
achieve my goals whatever it takes through God’s grace and guidance.

I just need to keep going and move forward!
