What do you know about UK?

The United Kingdom, made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, is an island
nation in northwestern Europe. The United Kingdom has the world's fifth-largest economy by
nominal gross domestic product. UK is today the fifth-largest economy in the world. Most of
the United Kingdom has a temperate climate, with generally cool temperatures and plentiful
rainfall all year round. Summers are warmest in the southeast of England and coolest in the
north. Heavy snowfall can occur in winter and early spring on high ground, and occasionally
settles to great depth away from the hills.

Why did you choose the UK for your studies? Or *Why did you select the UK for higher
studies? Isn’t this course offered by any university or college in your country?

The UK is one of the popular destinations among international students to pursue their higher
education. Universities and Colleges of the UK are ranked among the top all over the world,
and its education system keeps in line with today’s changing environment. Studying in the UK
is a great way to expand knowledge, exploring different cultures, meeting people from
different countries, and gaining new experiences. The fee structure and living expenses of
universities in the UK are affordable for international students. My decision to pursue my
studies in the UK would add a startling point to my profile. And that is the reason I want to
study in the United Kingdom.

Where will you be staying during your studies? Or *Where will you stay in the UK?
I will take a rented accommodation around the University to stay close to the University.

What will you do during the off period/semester?

During the Off period, I have plans to come back to India to meet my family or I will pursue a
part time job related to my course to gain some practical work experience.

Is this the first time that you apply for a visa to study abroad?
Yes this is the first time.

You have had a long break in your studies, why are you returning to study now? Or what is
Your Current Occupation?
I have done my Bachelors/Masters in the year…………, and have gained enough work
experience that I always wanted and now, I want to expand my knowledge in this field and for
that, I will have to apply in a good University at an International level. After discussing with my
family, now I have finalized to study at a reputed university that is located in the United
Kingdom.

If the costs of pursuing your course of study are higher in the UK than in your home country,
why have you decided to incur the extra costs involved with studying in the UK?
Well, the extra cost incurred is definitely worth it since the UK institutions consistently rank
among the best in the world and qualifications are internationally valued and recognized. UK
institutions offer flexibility of choice in courses and quality education. As a student, I will get
the opportunity to be taught by the world's leading academics and experts; I will also benefit
from their constant academic support. The learning experience that I will receive when I will
study in the UK is one that will provide me with the skills that I need. I will be encouraged to
read, think independently, question and analyze what I read and learn.

Why not India?

I have selected UK because UK has top ranked universities which provide quality education and the
UK degrees are worldwide recognized. Also, the UK has always been considered as a global hub for
business and economic studies. Moreover, the cost of living and tuition fees in UK is reasonable.
Apart from this UK has unique and multicultural environment where I will meet the students from
different countries which will help me to gain an international exposure. Other than that, the time
difference between UK and India is only around 5 hours so I can easily communicate with my family
in India.
Although India has top ranked universities and institutions like, Indian Institution of Management and
Management development institution which are providing the similar courses but to take admission in
such universities & institutions is quite complex and seats are limited due to high population in India.
The prime reason for not choosing India for my further studies is that the education system of India
does not have recognition at international platform whereas the U.K degrees are recognized
worldwide. Also, I want to gain an international exposure for career growth. So, while studying in U.K,
I will gain an international exposure and an international degree which has more weightage and value
as compared to an Indian Degree.

Why did you plan to study in UK?

 UK’s contribution in academics can be seen through the universities and colleges which there
since 12 and 13th centuries means if someone gets from UK it glorifies the resume.
 4 out of world’s top 10 universities are in UK such as oxford and Cambridge.
 In UK more emphasis is given on practical knowledge and self-development means students
don’t only gain theoretical knowledge but also attain knowledge by doing practically.
 The other reason which I believe attracts most of the students like me is the duration of the
post-graduation, it is of one year in UK and two or three years in other countries like Canada,
Australia and India.
 Moreover, the medical facilities can be used by paying a small charge of insurance but in other
countries we need to buy insurance by paying heavy amount.
 Nowadays, UK has become a favorite academic destination (130 countries) which makes UK
diverse.

In other words, attaining degree from one the of universities of UK will not add charm and
glory to my resume but will also better place to acquire knowledge besides learning about
different cultures and language.

Why not other countries such as Canada, Australia, USA?

I have researched different countries such as USA, Canada and Australia but I have selected UK
over other countries because the tuition fees of these countries are quite high as compared to U.K
like the tuition fees is around 30000 AUD per year and the medical insurance in Australia is more
expensive than U.K. Also, these countries like Australia and USA required some entry requirement
test for business course like SAT, that is Scholastic Assessment Test, especially in USA, which is
not required in the UK. Moreover, if I talk about Canada the weather of Canada is extremely cold.
So, it will be difficult for me to survive in the harsh weather.
