Example

This study utilized sequential mixed-methods research design to investigate

the levels of contribution of the 3 major external stakeholders in the identification and

mitigation of key areas of concerns in the category of curriculum instruction and

assessment under School-Based Management (SBM) of Bulacao National High School.

The research methodology was formed both quantitative and qualitative data collection

methods. Mixed -method research is a research in which the elements of qualitative

and quantitative research , data collection ,analysis and inferencing techniques are

combined in order to understand and corroborate of its broad purpose of breath and

depth (Johnson, 2007). This approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of the

stated problems by combining the strengths of both quantitative and qualitative data

collection and analysis techniques.

Research Locale

The study was conducted in ______ namely Bulacao Barangay Hall which

situated at the heart of Barangay Bulacao ,Talisay City . It boasts the 15,882 residents

taking 4.7% of the overall population of the city of Talisay. It possesses 2,942

households or an average of 4.30 members per household.Additionally, the barangay

has number of tax paying establishments. One of which is the Bulacao National High

School which is located at the back of Bulacao Elementary School juxtaposing Vista

Grande , a high -end subdivision in the barangay. These made Barangay Bulacao

suitable to be considered as high salience stakeholder. Also, one of the highest and

most consistent stakeholder in Bulacao National High School is situated in Lawaan

Talisay. The company is run by a private individual. The company supplies pre-

fabricated steels in their different partners and regular customers making the company

become one of the most acknowledged and a long-standing non-government

organization within Talisay city. Nevertheless, both Barangay Bulacao ,and Lawaan

Talisay are the 2 areas where the study situates ,and the data are gathered.

Sampling, Population and Respondents of the Study

is utilized to ______________________Also ,_____________________________.

Lastly, ___________________________________________school are selected for

data gathering.

Example

Two sampling techniques are utilized to better identify the relevance of the

stakeholder’s involvement and the inclusion of individuals with specific knowledge or

experience relevant to the study. First ,a stratified sampling techniques is utilized to

divide the population as strata comprised with parents, barangay personnels and

partner company 50 stakeholders composed of PTA members and officers who have

contributed and very well-aware of the School Governance Committee’s effort and

initiatives. Also ,Barangay Bulacao Officials including the honorable barangay captain

and chosen councilors. Lastly, active personnels of a business organization specifically

from Bradziel Incorporated who have been the major stakeholder and the partner of the

work-immersion program of Grade 12 HUMMS and TVL students under the

aforementioned school are selected for data gathering. Second, a purposive sampling

is conducted to identify the knowledge ,skills and expertise of the strata.

Research Instrument

(EXPLAIN YOUR STATISTICAL INSTRUMENT ;

First ,mention the Measure of POPULATION such as : Frequency , Mean ,

median,mode ,standard deviation, variance

Second Mention Your Test for your Hypothesis:

T-Test (if Pre-Test Post Test,) Correlation,Pearson Correlation , Regression

Analysis , Chi-Square (if based in perception)

Example :

In the quantitative phase, a structured questionnaire is developed to assess

external stakeholders' levels of contribution , satisfaction, and perceived importance,.

Pearson correlation coefficient is the statistical treatment that is considered to

accurately analyze the correlation of the stakeholder’s involvement and their influence in

the implementation of the mitigation plans. . The treatment is particularly valuable to

understand if changes in the level of contribution of the external stakeholders tend to be

accompanied by consistent changes ,whether increasing or decreasing , of the

implementation of the mitigation plans ,dependent variable. Moreover, Pearson

correlation exposes how the independent and dependent variables are associated to

one another, not necessarily illustrating a cause-and-effect relationship. When r is

greater than zero but less than 1 , then it implies a moderately strong positive

correlation which means that there is a higher stakeholder involvement associated with

the implementation of mitigation plans. Moreover ,when r is between 0 and -1 ,then it

possesses a weak negative correlation which means that there might be a slight

tendency for higher stakeholder involvement to be linked with less influence in the

implementation. The association is weak. Finally ,when r is equals to 0,essentially it

shows no correlation at all. The level of stakeholder involvement has no statistically

significant linear relationship with the implementation of mitigation plans.

On the other hand, prior to materializing the statistics above, questionnaires

will be first submitted to the school head for the content validation and scrutiny. Some

items will be improved based on the recommendations made by the school head. The

questionnaires will undergo to reliability testing using test -retest method with the help of

the respondents of the neighboring barangay.

In qualitative phase, semi-structured interview guide will be prepared to

explore stakeholders' opinion, experiences, and recommendations. Thematic analysis

will be conducted to identify perspectives, and recommendations that emerged during

the interview. According to (Alhojailan, 2012), Thematic Analysis is suitable for

investigations seeking to comprehend the prevailing behaviors or methodologies of

individuals, particularly concerning the impact of certain variables employed by

participants in practical contexts. This method facilitates the examination and

identification of how present circumstances are shaped by their perspectives. Such an

approach aligns well with scrutinizing various stages of data collection, such as pre- and

post-data acquisition phases. In this study , the respondents are categorized under

standard external stakeholders. They are comprised with the parents , barangay

officials and business company personnels who offer their insights on the curriculum

and learning resources.

Data Gathering Procedure

Here show how the data is gathered.

1. Letter is sent to the principal

2. Survey questions are sent

3. Interview the respondents

4. Record the responses

5. Code using thematic analysis

6. Interpret the data

In order to understand the stakeholders’ involvement in the curriculum, assessment,

intervention or mitigation under school-based management framewok at Bulacao

National High School, it requires a data collection process that gives priority to fair

ethical considerations and obtaining informed consent.

Initially, the official letter of approval are sent by the researchers to the key

stakeholders such as the selected parents, barangay officials and chosen company

personnels. Copies of the letters were also shared to the school principal, district

supervisor, superintendent, and barangay chair. They emphasized the study’s

objectives as well as its commitment to ethical standards.. This was done to ensure that

no unethical practices are violated. The researcher provided detailed explanations of

the research, their benefits and risks, and participants' rights prior to commencing data

collection.

Moreover.the data collection process is consisted of two different phases.

Firstly, a pilot test using questionnaires was conducted with 20 residents from a

neighboring barangay sharing similar demographics. This pilot study helps refine the

questionnaire for clarity and ensured smooth administration of the aforementioned.

For the primary data collection, collaboration with the stakeholders onset by

setting appointments with the chosen company , parents and barangay personnel.

Under the assistance and approval of the principal, the researcher handed out to 10

parents, 5 barangay officials and 5 company personnels stating the intent in gathering

data. The barangay secretary will aid in connecting with 5 education-focused officials,

while outreach efforts targeted 5 business sector representatives affiliated with the

school. Tailored questionnaires will be distributed to each stakeholder group,

accompanied by readily available informed consent forms. Consequently,

supplementary data collection methods such as focus group discussions and individual

interviews are employed for deeper insights. Throughout the process, ethical

responsibility remained vital.

Ethical Considerations

Documentation of informed consent are secured to ensure authenticity of the gathered

data. Moreover, anonymity, safeguarding of the data, and acknowledging limitations to

prevent overstated claims are also adhered by the researchers for ethical

considerations.
