TEACHING AND LEARNING ENGLISH
Good morning teacher and classmates. My project is about education and how to
learn English. I want to talk about my past. Five years ago when I was in high school,
I dreamed of being a nurse like my aunt. She chose this profession because it was
her passion. I saw how she helped patients to be happy and to fight against the
diseases that they had. My aunt was a guide for me. At 18 years old I decided to
study nursing at the Arzobispo Loayza Institute but halfway through the cycle I
abandoned my studies because I realized that I didn’t want to study this career
because it takes many years of study. The reason why I dislike the nursing career is
that I had to inject patients and I couldn’t stand to see blood. If I had been a nurse, I
wouldn’t have felt comfortable with this profession. I wish I had taken a vocational
test to know what career to study and don’t waste time. I should have studied
medicine, but I decided to study education to become an English teacher and thus
teach children this beautiful language. Currently, I chose the career of education
because I discovered that teaching is my passion and that is why I am now in my
fourth cycle of study. On Saturdays I teach English to a group of children at a school
near my house. The thing that makes me happy is transmitting my knowledge, my
skills, and applying an interactive methodology that allows me to see how children
learn and pay attention to the class. Teaching and learning must always go hand in
hand. Teaching is the process of sharing knowledge, skills and experiences with
others in a way that helps them learn and learning is the process of acquiring new
knowledge, expressing your ideas, and building effective communication skills thank
to good teaching. The more I study, the faster I learn. By the way, have you put into
practice new techniques to learn English?. There are many innovative techniques fir
learning English that can be useful to you.
1. Learning English is a lot more easy than learning another language. If you
hadn’t studied English, you wouldn’t communicate with people from different
countries.
2. You can spend 1 hour practicing pronunciation to talk more and more fluently
while listening to native English speakers.
3. The thing that enjoys me is using flashcards to memorize vocabulary words
and their meanings.
4. Bear in mind that you can participate in debates to enhance your persuasive
speaking skills.
5. The reason why I watch English movies is that I have to improve my language
comprehension.
6. If you hadn’t attended English conversation clubs, you wouldn’t practice
speaking with other people.
7. What makes me the most comfortable is writing essays on different subjects
to enhance my writing skills.
8. You should have language-learning apps that provide interactive exercises for
grammar and vocabulary.
In conclusion, we all need to follow these techniques to perfect the English language.
In my case, I study education because my plans are to travel to the United States to
live there and be able to teach English in renowned schools in that country.
