MASS INTRODUCTION- 11 FEBRUARY MISSION FOUNDATION DAY

Along with the wonder of creation, we too are gathered in the temple of God to chant the divine
praises for blessing us with this day. This day is a milestone in our lives because it’s special and
splendid. The divine potter has fashioned this day as a precious one. Today we remember and thank
the Lord Almighty for CHF Mission which has accomplished 60 years of service in the vineyard of
the Lord. St. John Maria Vianey says “There is nothing as great as the Eucharist. If God had
something more precious, he would have given it to us”. “The holy Eucharist is the perfect
expression of the love of Jesus Christ,” said St Maria Goretti. “From the Eucharist comes the
strength to live the Christian life and zeal to share that life with others” St. John Paul II. Holy
Eucharist is the expression of God’s love for humankind. God so loved the world that he gave his
only son to be a ransom for many. Yes, as we partake in each Holy Mass it challenges us to give
ourselves in the service of others, to be broken thus the other may have life.

St Mariam Thresia our Holy Foundress responded spontaneously to His divine invitation to be
another Christ to the broken world. Her, humble yet courageous beginning opened a new era in the
history of the Church in the field of family apostolate, and thus became a missionary to the families.
Imbued with the Charism of our beloved Foundress, Mother Josephine the then Superior General
responded to the invitation of Rt Rev. Dr. Urban Mc Garry, the then Bishop of Bhagalpur, and sent
eight brave daughters of CHF namely Sr. Mary John, Sr. Amos, Sr. Therese Samuel, Sr. Jessy
Attokaran, Sr. Petrina, Sr. Rose Valiaveetil, Sr. Reeta Francis and Sr. Leopold to the remote village
of Charkapathar and they won the hearts of people, striving hard to the extreme realities of life, with
the weapon of passion for God and compassion to the broken lives.

At these moments of Eucharistic Communion of the triune God, we offer our prayerful tribute to all
our dear departed pioneer sisters who became humble instruments in the fulfillment of the CHF
mission. May the Lord of Might reward them His Love and may they enjoy the beatific vision with
the Lord in heaven. We do especially with love offer our loving sisters Sr Rita Francis and Sr
Leopold who are still serving the Congregation with the same spirit and zeal, who are truly an
inspiration to the growing buds of CHF. May the enveloping love of the Lord comfort them in their
moments of pain, loneliness, and sickness, and may your powerful hand hold them tightly.

Today, at the juncture of this 60th year of the establishment of the CHF North Indian Mission we are
indeed grateful to God for the mighty deeds that have been done through the instrumentality of our
dear sisters don the ages. The CHF Mission which began in a small village has spread far and wide
in the northern part of Bihar giving its services in the field of the family apostolate, education,
social work, and healing, in the four provinces Arunoday, Shantidhara, Marymatha and Divyoday.
We remember with gratitude all the Provincials and Council who through their sacrificial life and
wise decisions have brought the dream of our Mother St Mariam Thresia a reality. May God bless
all of them. We also pray for all the members that with the spirit and fervour of our pioneer sisters,
we may strive to bring God’s kingdom on earth.

We also thank God and offer our dear Fr. for the mighty blessings of the Almighty. May each
Holy Eucharist he offers, bring an outpouring of graces upon him and consolation to the people.
May the power of this divine sacrifice touch the hearts of all especially the political leaders to have
compassion and human values. May the peace of Christ reign in every heart thus we may all praise
the name of the Lord with one accord. Imploring God’s blessings on everyone let’s rise and partake
in this Holy Eucharist with much love and devotion.
