A. Scientific Background

The advancement of science is something that is very necessary in human


civilization. Science is a field that greatly influences the development of human civilization in
every industrial sector. With science, every development process can be researched and
evaluated. That's why science has a function as a reference in developing an industrial
sector in the development of human civilization. Science has many branches with their
respective functions that help human work in every sector. History records many great
scientists whose discoveries greatly influenced the development of human times.

Several scientists in the past were famous for their discoveries, such as Isaac
Newton with his discovery of the theory of gravity and Newton's laws which are the basis of
physics until now, Thomas Alfa Edison who developed a safe light bulb that can be used
today, Nikola Tesla who discovered the current system. back and forth in electricity and
made him a pioneer in the world of modern electricity, Al Khawarizmi who discovered the
Algebra system and the number zero helped the computer system in binary code, Ibnu Majid
with his discovery of cardinal directions which became the basis for making the modern
compass, Albert Einstein with his discovery of the theory of relativity who helped scientists
understand the universe, and other previous scientists who were influential in the
development of science. In ancient times, many scientists competed to find a discovery in
order to get an award. Therefore, many scientists were trying to find discoveries, because at
that time science was still developing, so this was what motivated scientists to continue
looking for discoveries to develop science in the advancement of human civilization and the
industrial sector.

In this day and age, scientific developments are increasingly being developed so that
they can compete in the industrial sector. where individuals compete with each other to
develop knowledge to meet market needs. The field that is currently being intensively
developed is the field of technology, because this field really helps human work. With the
discovery of the internet, it has become easier for the development of science to accelerate
which can change human civilization to become even more advanced. However, did you
know that behind the rapid development of technology today is because of a system that
was discovered in the past. This system is called the "Fibonacci Series" which was
discovered by an Italian scientist named Leonardo da Pisa. This series functions in various
fields, for example in the fields of information technology, business, biology, cryptography
and data analysis.
B. Fibonacci Series Explanation

The Fibonacci series is a series of numbers that follow the formula that each number
in the series is equal to the sum of the two previous numbers. Examples like this:

0,1,1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144,...


This system is what helps humans in learning programming, novice programmers
can practice writing algorithms to generate Fibonacci numbers, which helps in
understanding loops, recursion, and other basic programming skills. In more practical
programming applications, the Fibonacci series can be used for code testing, namely to
test the performance of algorithms and programming languages ​under the pressure of
large numbers and calculations. Apart from that, this series also helps scientists to
understand patterns that occur in nature, such as the spiral shape of sunflower seeds,
the breeding patterns of rabbits, and even the structure of our faces and bodies.

The Fibonacci series was discovered by Leonardo Da Pisa in 1202 through his
book entitled Liber Abaci. Leonardo Da Pisa lived in a merchant family, so he had to deal
with numbers every day. His father (William) had a role as leader of a trading post which
was the trade representative for Bugia, North Africa. As a young man, Leonardo went
there to help his father. It was there that Leonardo learned about the Arabic number
system. Leonardo saw that the Roman number system was more complicated than the
number system there, Leonardo then explored the entire Mediterranean area to study
with Arab mathematicians. He returned home to Europe and wrote what he had learned
in the book "Liber Abaci". This book shows the practicality of the Arabic number system
by applying it in commerce, such as trade bookkeeping, conversion of various sizes and
weights, interest calculations, money exchange, and so on. This book was well received
by European intellectuals and had an important impact on the European population.
Because of his achievements, Leonardo was invited by Emperor Frederick II and
received respect for Leonardo.

This series of numbers starting with zero and one is an ever-increasing series,
where each number is equal to the sum of the two previous numbers. This series does
not have a specific formula, it's just that the sequence of numbers is related to the
previous number. The Fibonacci numbers and ratios created by that sequence. From
this system, a ratio is also found that is often found in nature, namely the golden ratio.
This ratio is obtained by dividing each number in the Fibonacci series by its predecessor.
From there, we always get results that are close to 1.618, this is a ratio that is often
found in nature. In addition, the golden ratio is also found in art, as examples appear in
the Parthenon, in Athens, and the great pyramid at Giza.
C. Fibonacci Series Application

The Fibonacci series can be used in everyday life in various fields. The following
are examples of the use of the Fibonacci series in several areas of everyday life:

a. Business Field
Nowadays, trade has a very broad scope, especially with the internet, trade has
become even wider. One of them is in the scope of trading. The Fibonacci series
can be used to help develop stocks in trading. The method is to use fast
techniques, namely backtracking, arcs, fans, and time zones. Fibonacci
retracement is an analysis technique based on the Fibonacci series. During a
trend, Fibonacci Retracement is used to determine how deep a pullback may be.
b. Science Field
The field of science in this world has several branches of focus. For example, in
Biology, the Fibonacci series can be observed in the development of plant
structures, such as the spiral growth of roots and stems, and can even be found
in the structure of the human body such as the proportions of the hands and
fingers. In astronomy, it can be used to predict the orbital movements of planets
and the movements of stars.
c. Arts field
In visual arts such as paintings, photography or videos, the Fibonacci series can
be used to determine beautiful composition and proportions by using the golden
ratio as a reference. By using this golden ratio, the resulting visuals can be more
symmetrical and proportional.
d. Music field
Musicians are also inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, using it to create unique
and interesting compositions. These sequences can be used to create complex
rhythms and melodies, as well as create interesting patterns and structures in
music. One example of Fibonacci-inspired music is the work of composer Bela
Bartok, who used the sequence to create his famous series of Fibonacci
compositions.
e. Technology field
In the field of technology, especially in cryptography, the Fibonacci series is used
to create strong encryption keys and random numbers. So it can guarantee
confidential security and the integrity of sensitive information.
f. Field of architecture
In architecture, its application is very much used in forming the proportions of a
building. This series can be used to create a sense of balance and harmony in
buildings, as well as to create interesting shapes and patterns. One example of
Fibonacci-inspired architecture is the spiral staircase, which is often used in
buildings to create a dramatic visual effect.
D. Conclusion

Science has a very strong influence on the development of human civilization.


Each science has different functions in each field. Science was discovered to help
human work become more practical and safer so that it can develop human life in the
future. Therefore, science is used as a reference in developing a field to become
more advanced. Likewise with the discovery of the Fibonacci series by Leonardo
Fibonacci, this knowledge is useful for many fields and is very helpful in developing
existing technology for humans.

Therefore, let's use every knowledge in the world for something right and to
advance human civilization for the better. With knowledge, it will be easier for us to
