Fire Detection and Safety System Proposal
Introduction
The proposed project involves designing and implementing a basic fire detection and safety
system using minimal materials. The system will utilize a thermocouple for temperature
sensing, an Arduino microcontroller for data processing, and simple alert mechanisms like an
LED and a buzzer. This cost-effective solution aims to detect temperature spikes, which could
indicate fire hazards, and provide visual and audible warnings to alert individuals.
Objectives
The main objective of this project is to create an affordable and easy-to-implement fire
detection system that provides timely warnings in case of potential fire hazards. The system
will focus on simplicity, using minimal components to achieve the goal of detecting and
alerting users to temperature changes.
Materials Required
- Arduino microcontroller
- Thermocouple (for temperature sensing)
- Buzzer (for audible alarm)
- LED (for visual indication)
- Resistors (for LED control)
- Jumper wires
- Breadboard (for circuit prototyping)
- Power supply
Methodology
1. The thermocouple will be connected to the Arduino to monitor temperature continuously.
2. If the temperature exceeds a predefined threshold, the system will trigger the LED and
buzzer to provide visual and audible alerts.
3. The system will be designed to operate with minimal components, making it both affordable
and easy to build.
4. The entire setup will be prototyped on a breadboard, ensuring flexibility and ease of testing.
Conclusion
This project offers a simple and efficient way to enhance fire safety using readily available
components. By keeping the design straightforward, the system can be easily implemented in
various settings where basic fire detection is required.
