Task 70−21−00−110−900:
1. SPOP 6 − Cleaning Of Contact Points And Wiring Harnesses
A. General
(1) Refer to Section 70−20−00, General−01 for additional
requirements.
B. Procedure
WARNING: REFER TO THE MANUFACTURER'S MATERIAL SAFETY
DATA SHEETS FOR CONSUMABLE MATERIAL'S
INFORMATION SUCH AS: HAZARDOUS INGREDIENTS,
PHYSICAL/CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS, FIRE,
EXPLOSION, REACTIVITY, HEALTH HAZARD DATA,
PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING, USE AND
CONTROL MEASURES.
(1) Do one of the procedures in the subsequent list:
(a) Procedure to clean contact points and wiring
harnesses.
1 Spray one of the solvents in the subsequent
list on the contact points or the wiring
harness.

R g SPMC 245 Solvent, Cleaner. − XT 2000
R Precision Cleaner
2 Wipe off area with a clean cloth.
3 Blow dry, if necessary, with clean air at 30
psi (206.8 kPa) pressure.

(b) Procedure to clean external surfaces of wiring
harnesses and cables:
NOTE: It is not permitted to use this procedure
to clean contact points or other electrical
connectors.
1 Apply a mask or maskants to the open electrical
connectors of the wiring harness or cable to
give them protection from water.
2 Clean the external surfaces of the wiring
harness or cable. Use the procedure in SPOP
1. Refer to Section 70−21−00 SPOP 1 (Task
70−21−00−110−047).
