Welcome part 1

1.1 About This Product

EQ45 is a lightweight, stand-alone parametric equalizer based on the circuit model of
the Urei 545 parametric EQ. Its high-resolution filters enable you to perform subtle or
drastic changes to audio material without the unpleasant artifacts caused by limited dy-
namic range in hi Q filters. Whatever your audio application may be, EQ45 will provide
you with flexible new options.

beyond its -3 dB point. Ranges 400 Hz – 20 kHz, continuously
tunable.

ing 12 Hz – 20 kHz.

High Cut A Butterworth filter section with an attenuation of 12 dB/octave

beyond its -3 dB point. Ranges 5 Hz – 1000 Hz, continuously
tunable.

Width Accompanies each filter section, ranging 1/4 octave to 2 oc-

taves.

Gain Allows attenuation and boost for each filter section, ranging -15
dB to 15 dB.

2
Overload An overload protection mechanism that responds when a sig-
nal’s transient extends above -0.1 dBfs.

EQ In/Out When switched up, enables the use the full suite of parametric
filters. When switched down, enables the use of only the high-
and low-cut filters.

All knobs can be adjusted by clicking and dragging vertically. You may also hold the
command key on Mac or the control key on Windows for fine resolution control. Values
may alternatively be directly entered into each knob’s corresponding text box.

3
2.1 Preset Bar

Located at the top of the EQ45 Plug-In, the Preset Bar lets you load and save presets,
along with several other features.

When EQ45 is installed, a library of settings is placed into the <user>/Music/Eventide/EQ45/Pre-

sets folder (Mac) or the <user>/Documents/Eventide/EQ45/Presets folder (Windows).
These presets have a .tide extension and can be saved or loaded from the EQ45 preset
bar in any supported DAW.

In many DAWs there is an additional generic preset bar that saves DAW-specific presets
to a separate location. We recommend saving your presets using the Eventide preset
bar to ensure that your presets will be accessible from any DAW. You can also create
sub-folders inside the preset folders, if you wish.

Load/Save Use these buttons to load and save your presets in .tide format.

Compare Click to toggle between two different settings for the plug-in.
This is useful for making A/B comparisons.

Info Click this button to open this manual.

Settings Opens a drop-down menu with scaling settings for changing

the overall size of the plugin.
