Before we start painting the

miniature, we locate the


light reflections on the steel
armour areas of Bastian
Carthalos, by taking a
picture of it under our
desklamp. I primed it in
Chaos Black as it has a
great shine to it. I have
added a guide for how to
locate light reflections in
the post description.
Before painting a cloak,
its always a good thing
to have a reference photo
for how you want to
paint it – i used this
photo of some stormcast
eternals & their blue
elements – this is the
blue i wanted to imitate
for the cloak. Here i
noted wich variations of
blue that is in the
brightest light reflections
& the shades. Lets go !
We start by basecoating the We now glaze in the frame
of the light reflections on the
cloak with a 3:1 mix of kantor cloak, with pure kantor blue
blue & abaddon black. – add 2-3 parts of water.
We now make a 2:1 mix of We now add add a 1/3 part of
