Short Stories with Questions: The New Neighbor

Someone had moved into the house next door to Ben. It had been empty for almost a year.
Then one evening, as if by magic, there were curtains in the windows and lights shining
from within.

Ben stood at his kitchen window and looked at the house.

“It’s not nice to stare,” his mother told him. But Ben had to keep looking because when he
had seen his new neighbor walk past his own kitchen window, he was blue! He had floppy
antennae and big eyes. He was like no human being Ben had ever seen before.

Suddenly, the neighbor’s back door opened, and the blue creature walked right up to the
window where Ben was standing and said hello.
“I’m from a neighboring planet,” he said. “Do you think I could borrow a few cookies? I
haven’t had a chance yet to get to the store.”
“Sure!” Ben said. He decided then that he was going to like this new neighbor a lot!

Questions:
