The location of oil energy by Mateo Cano

● The Gulf of Mexico - continued to be the nations

primary offshore source of oil + gas generating
about 97% of all US OCS oil and gas production.
● The western and central G,O,M which includes
offshore Texas,
● Louisiana Mississippi and Alabama is one of the
major petroleum - producing areas of the United
States of America (USA).
The Location of Oil Energy by Mateo Cano
● According to the latest data, around 10.3 million jobs in the US are
directly or indirectly supported by oil and gas industry.

G.O.M oil and gas top companies are..

● Chevron Corp
● Shell PLC
● BP
● ExxonMobil Corp

Oil makes electricity How? By Eddie C
1. Oil makes electricity by Fossil fuel power plants burn coal or oil to create
heat which is in turn used to generate steam to drive turbines which
generate electricity.

2. Coal, oil, and natural gas can all be used to produce steam, which spins a
turbine that produces electric power. Of course, burning fossil fuels
(which are non-renewable sources) of any kind produces carbon dioxide, a
greenhouse gas that's a leading cause of climate change.
Oil makes clothing How? By Eddie C
1. Manufacturing high-performance polyester (and other
synthetic textiles made from fossil fuels) involves extracting
and refining crude oil, using a high-temperature chemical
reaction to turn that oil into petrochemicals and then plastic
polymers, turning that plastic into fabric, and then dyeing and
finishing the clothes.
2.
Most fibres used today are made from petroleum-based polymers,
more commonly known as plastic. These fibres are turned into
synthetic materials such as spandex, polyester, nylon, acrylic, and
even vegan leather. Polyester and nylon are the first and second
most-used manufactured fibres in apparel.
Oil make Gasoline How? By Eddie C
1. At petroleum refineries, crude oil is broken into its various components,
which are then selectively reconfigured into new products. U.S. refineries
generally focus on producing gasoline to meet U.S. market demand, and
they produce nearly all of the gasoline sold in the United States.

2. Gasoline is made from petroleum oil through the refinery process, which
includes Distillation, Conversion, and Treatment.
