Decial et. al (2024) Title ; STUDENT RESEARCH COMPETENCES: A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY , Undergraduate

The study was conducted to determine the students' research competence. there were 110 respondent

included in this study . A descriptive - quantitative research design was utilized in this study.

The Findings indicated that the level of students' research competences in terms of crafting research titles

formulating research question and designing research instruments were highly competent . Moreover, the

student Research Competence of the fourth year education students during the first semester of academic

year 2023-2024 . was Good.

This study concluded that the respondents possess the skills and knowledge necessary to create concise and

informative research titles, develop relevant and meaningful research questions, and design robust and

effective research instruments.

It was recommendent that Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University Officials may

inform curriculum enhancement efforts and the development of new programs aimed at

furthering students' research competence. University officials can use the findings to identify

areas for improvement, revise existing curricula, and introduce innovative initiatives to support

student research endeavors. Moreover Campus Administrator may help to foster a supportive

environment for research by providing funding opportunities and promoting research-related

initiatives and events to further students research competence.Visiting Lecturers/Instructors

may inspire instructors to innovate their teaching methodologies further. They may incorporate

successful strategies identified in the study, such as project-based learning, collaborative

research, or experiential activities, to maintain and further students' research capabilities.

Students may to continue to seek mentorship from faculty members, researchers, or

professionals in the field who can provide guidance, support, and opportunities for collaboration

and may further leverage their research competence through presenting their research findings

at conferences and explore opportunities to publish their research findings in academic journals
or other scholarly publications. Lastly Future Researchers may consider conducting replication

studies to validate and build upon the findings of previous research on students' high

competence in research.
