Part A: 5 Marks
a. Write the steps to generate and capture the mobile data packets only (http) using any sniffer
tool. Analyze the captured packet and write the in detail working principle of the protocols.
b. Study the mobile App and Write a detail note on features of the tool with specific terms. Ex:
signal strength, Frequency band, Cellular signal, channel, data rate, latency. (Flow of the
content should be proper with screenshots)
Part B: 5 Marks

1 Write the QPSK modulation code using MATLAB. Clearly show the plot of in
phase (I), quadrature component (Q) and final QPSK modulation. Generate the
constellation diagram and discuss.

2 Simulate OFDM system using MATLAB which meets following requirements


 Random information bit generation for OFDM symbol size of 2048
 Mapping of information bit sequence coded 16QAM constellation
 Cyclic prefix insertion no CP
 Simulate using MATLAB, OFDM. (orthogonal frequency-division
multiplexing) transmitter showing the orthogonal subcarriers.

12 Simulate a 4x4 Single-User MIMO system using an OFDM modulator and


demodulator with error rate calculations in MATLAB. The OFDM parameters
should be based on the 802.11n standard. Additionally, show how OFDM
subcarrier mapping is performed for antenna 1 and antenna 2.

13. Simulate a 4x2 Single-User MISO system using an OFDM modulator and
demodulator with error rate calculations in MATLAB. The OFDM parameters
should follow the 802.11n standard. Additionally, demonstrate the OFDM
subcarrier mapping for the two transmit antennas.

14 Simulate a multipath diversity reception system in a multi-antenna receiver


using MATLAB. The system uses a 2x2 MIMO configuration, where the
transmitted signal experiences Rayleigh multipath fading. Implement maximal
ratio combining (MRC) at the receiver to improve signal quality. Use 16-QAM
modulation and evaluate the system performance by plotting the Bit Error Rate
(BER) versus SNR. Include AWGN in the channel with a noise power of
N0=0.1N0=0.1. Write a MATLAB script to simulate this scenario and compare
the BER with and without diversity reception

15 Simulate and analyze the process of multiplexing and demultiplexing in an


Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system using MATLAB.
Consider the following steps:
 Generate a input data stream = Last Two Numbers of Registration in
Group (6 To 8 Digits).
 Perform multiplexing by splitting the data into multiple parallel
substreams.
 Apply Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) to each substream for OFDM
modulation.
 Add a cyclic prefix to combat intersymbol interference (ISI).
 Transmit the OFDM signal through an Additive White Gaussian Noise
(AWGN) channel.
 At the receiver, remove the cyclic prefix, apply FFT to demodulate the
signal, and perform demultiplexing to recover the original data.
 Calculate the Bit Error Rate (BER) at the receiver for different Signal-to-
Noise Ratios (SNRs).
Provide a plot showing the BER vs. SNR curve and discuss the results.

16 Develop a MATLAB simulation to investigate the Doppler Effect in a wireless


communication system. Your simulation should encompass the following
components:
 Generate a input data stream = Last Two Numbers of Registration in
Group (6 To 8 Digits) and apply a digital modulation scheme (e.g., BPSK
or QPSK).
 Define a model for the Doppler effect, including parameters such as the
speed of the transmitter and receiver, and the carrier frequency.
 Simulate the effect of the Doppler shift on the transmitted signal as the
relative velocity between the transmitter and receiver changes.
 Transmit the modulated signal through an ideal channel with the calculated

17. Create a MATLAB simulation to analyze the impact of Multipath


Propagation in a wireless communication system. Your simulation should
include the following steps:

or 16-QAM).
 Model a multipath channel by simulating multiple propagation paths with
