1.0. Introduction
In this report, the writer has penned down a full review of his Students’ Work Experience Programme
(SWEP) which was undertaken at production industry. The report contains details of practical
experiences gathered during the course of the programme and theoretical principles on which such practical
experiences depend on and all experiences are gathered from both courses taught in the classroom and
personal research.The program includes a structured curriculum that blends in-class instruction with practical
experience in a variety of automotive-related areas, including blinds repair, servicing, maintenance, and
customer support. Students are placed in various departments inside zebra blinds production, allowing them to
comprehend the full value chain and gain knowledge of the various job prospects in the industry. Students
take part in a variety of activities during their work. Professionals from the industry mentor, advise, and
encourage them as they acquire vital abilities like problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and
flexibility. The report is organized as follows; the introduction deals basically on general information on
SWEP, my place of assignment, and introduce the general experience gained during the course of the
program. In Chapter 1, company orientation and zebra blinds basics,reviewing safety regulations and
procedures,and types of automobile engines are discussed. Identification of major things at the company in
Chapter 2. In Chapter 3,automobile faults, causes, remedies and maintenance. Chapter 4 discusses the various
practical skillslearnt during the SWEP program. Conclusions and recommendations were finally made in areas
necessary for improvement of the SWEP program in the future. References has been included for further

Student work experience programme (SWEP) was invented by the Council for the regulation
of engineering in Nigeria (COREN) a statutory organ of the Federal government established by the decree
No. 55 of 1970 as amended decree 27 of 1992, which empowers it to control and regulate the practice of
The primary aim of SWEP is to seek, capture and categorize student work experience opportunities and to
monitor the work experience progress of students. The primary goal of the programme is to ensure that the
educational experience of students will be at or above the national average for all engineering students.
The main objective of the programme is to bridge theory with practice by creating an avenue for students to
be exposed to real engineering jobs out there in the society and real time job situations and environment.
Another objective is that it prepares students for work situation they will meet after graduation as well as

Human safety should be a priority in every engineering workshop, as result, proactive approach were put in
place to ensure the safety of technicians in the workshop during the before and during the student work
experience program.
Protective gears as well as active fire extinguishers were available in the workshop during the students
work experience program. All stated safety precautions were strictly followed to prevent hazard and injury
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) plays a vital role in safeguarding your health and well-
being in any work environment, especially one like zebra blind manufacturing. Using PPE
correctly ensures its effectiveness and maximizes your protection. Here's a guide to proper PPE
