Climate change is an issue that has received great attention in recent years.

Climate change is a real

problem that we are facing now, and greatly affects various aspects of our lives, including the
environment, economy, and even national security (Nda et al., 2018). As awareness of the negative
impacts of climate change increases, it is important to understand how the younger generation,
especially high school students, perceive and anticipate this global problem. Middle school students are
expected to be aware of the impact of climate change not only on the environment but also their future.
among them, climate change and global warming can threaten ecosystem stability, contribute to the
loss of biodiversity, and increase the frequency and severity of natural disasters, sea level rise and
extreme weather events that can cause infrastructure damage, disrupt agricultural systems, and create
economic instability. So, these students must be given an understanding of how to analyze potential
challenges in their future, including job scarcity, food insecurity, and global economic uncertainty, all of
which stem from the impacts of climate change. Therefore, secondary school students should be
provided with training to take action to mitigate the impacts of climate change as well as the need for
sustainable practices, renewable energy sources, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Real and
simple actions, such as recycling and saving energy, disposing of waste properly will be able to
contribute significantly to greater collective efforts in fighting climate change. so that our earth and
space can recover as soon as possible and be livable by the next generation. In 2018, I joined this
program. There have been many projects that I have carried out with my students regarding how to
reduce the impact of global warming, climate change and alternative energy. Moreover, the
independent curriculum provides good facilities and space. I have also conveyed this to various sharing
communities. However, six years is too fast a time so there are many new developments that I don't
know about. I have just completed the microcredential program in Computer Science from Harvard
University. I want to combine the knowledge about technology that I have gained in an effort to reduce
the various impacts of global warming and climate change on the earth and space that we live in and live
in. More impactful collaboration with students, as well as sharing with the wider community are the
main reasons I want to join this training.
Climate change has emerged as a pressing issue, garnering significant attention in recent years. It
represents a tangible challenge that impacts numerous facets of life, including environmental health,
economic stability, and national security (Nda et al., 2018). As the negative ramifications of climate
change become increasingly apparent, understanding the perceptions and responses of the younger
generation, particularly high school students, toward this global crisis is crucial. It is expected that
middle school students will not only recognize the adverse effects of climate change on the environment
but also foresee its implications for their futures.

Climate change and global warming pose threats to ecosystem stability, lead to biodiversity loss, and
escalate the frequency and severity of natural disasters. These phenomena contribute to sea-level rise
and extreme weather events, causing infrastructure damage, disrupting agricultural systems, and
fostering economic instability. Therefore, it is imperative that students are equipped with the
knowledge to analyze potential future challenges, such as job scarcity, food insecurity, and global
economic uncertainties, which are direct consequences of climate change.

To combat these challenges, secondary school students should be trained to undertake actions that
mitigate the impacts of climate change. This includes adopting sustainable practices, transitioning to
renewable energy sources, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Simple yet effective measures, such
as recycling, energy conservation, and proper waste disposal, can significantly contribute to collective
efforts in combating climate change, ultimately fostering a recoverable and habitable Earth for future
generations.

In 2018, I engaged with this program. There have been many projects that I have carried out with my
students regarding how to reduce the impact of global warming, climate change and alternative energy..
Kurikulum Merdeka offered robust facilities and space for innovative projects, which I have shared with
various communities. However, with the rapid passage of six years, numerous advancements have
emerged that I am yet to learn about.

Having recently completed a Microcredential program in Computer Science from Harvard University, I
am eager to integrate my newly acquired technological insights with efforts to mitigate the diverse
effects of global warming and climate change on our planet. My aim is to foster more impactful
collaborations with students and share knowledge with a broader community. Joining this training aligns
with my objectives, as it promises opportunities for both.
