INTRODUCTION
▪ Industry Selection: Students choose an industry from the provided list, and research its trends,
and challenges.

Information Technology (IT): Fast-paced, tech-driven, remote/hybrid workforce.


Healthcare: There is a high demand for skilled professionals, sensitive to compliance and patient
care.
Retail & E-Commerce: Dynamic hiring needs, customer-centric roles.
Hospitality: Emphasis on customer service, high turnover rates.
Manufacturing: Focus on skilled labor, safety, and compliance.
Education/EdTech: Balancing teaching staff and tech innovation.
Financial Services: High-pressure roles, compliance-heavy, professional certifications.
INTRODUCTION
▪ Organization Design: Groups create their fictional organization, including name, mission,
size, key roles, and culture.
▪ Name: Create a unique and relevant company name.
▪ Mission & Vision: Align with the chosen industry and target market.
▪ Size: Small, medium, or large (define employee count).
▪ Key Roles: Identify 3-5 key roles that will form the focus of their HR activities.
▪ Organizational Culture: Define the culture they want to foster (e.g., collaborative,
innovative).

▪ Class Presentation – Each group pitches their organization (5 minutes). Other groups ask
questions or suggest improvements.
TASK 1
▪ HR Planning & Job Analysis
• Objective: Understand workforce planning and job analysis as foundational HRM
activities.
• Tasks:
• Define the business goals of your chosen organization.
• Identify workforce needs (numbers, skills, roles).
• Conduct job analysis for 2 roles: create job descriptions (JD) and job specifications
(JS).
• Deliverables: Workforce plan, JDs, and JSs for selected roles.
TASK 2
▪ Recruitment & Selection
• Objective: Design and execute recruitment strategies and selection processes.
• Tasks:
• Develop a recruitment strategy (internal and external).
• Create a recruitment advertisement and post it to a mock platform.
• Conduct assessments and role-play an interview process.
• Deliverables: Recruitment strategy document, mock advertisements, and interview
evaluation forms.
TASK 3
▪ Onboarding & Orientation
• Objective: Design a welcoming and effective onboarding process.
• Tasks:
• Create an onboarding plan and sample orientation agenda.
• Develop an employee handbook (highlights: company policies, culture, benefits).
• Role-play an orientation session for the class.
• Deliverables: Onboarding plan, handbook, and orientation presentation.
TASK 4
▪ Training & Development
• Objective: Analyze training needs and develop an effective program.
• Tasks:
• Conduct a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for one role.
• Design a training program, including objectives, content, and evaluation metrics.
• Facilitate a mock training session for the class.
• Deliverables: Training plan and training materials.
TASK 5
▪ Performance Management
• Objective: Develop and implement a performance appraisal system.
• Tasks:
• Create KPIs and design a performance appraisal process for one role.
• Role-play a performance review meeting, focusing on giving constructive feedback.
• Deliverables: Appraisal process workflow and role-play scripts.
TASK 6
▪ Employee Engagement
• Objective: Assess and improve employee engagement in a workplace.
• Tasks:
• Design an employee engagement survey and collect hypothetical data.
• Analyze survey results and propose strategies to enhance engagement.
• Deliverables: Engagement survey, analysis report, and improvement plan.
TASK 7
▪ Wellness Plans
• Objective: Develop a wellness program addressing employees' physical, mental, and
financial well-being.
• Tasks:
• Create a comprehensive wellness program with detailed activities (e.g., health
check-ups, workshops).
• Role-play an awareness session to introduce the program.
• Deliverables: Wellness program document and communication materials.
TASK 8
▪ Compensation & Benefits
• Objective: Understand the principles of designing compensation and benefits.
• Tasks:
• Develop a compensation structure for one role, considering market benchmarks.
• Design an employee benefits package and justify its alignment with organizational
goals.
• Deliverables: Compensation structure and benefits package.
TASK 9
▪ Employee Relations
• Objective: Handle grievances and design policies for a harmonious workplace.
• Tasks:
• Role-play a grievance-handling process.
• Draft a workplace policy on a key issue (e.g., harassment prevention, diversity).
• Deliverables: Policy document and grievance-handling process outline.
TASK 10
▪ HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems)
• Objective: Explore the role of technology in modern HRM.
• Tasks:
• Simulate HR operations using an HRIS demo or outline an ideal HRIS for your
organization.
• Present a report on how HRIS improves efficiency.
• Deliverables: HRIS demo report or functionality map.
TASK 11
▪ Separation & Exit Management + Final Presentations
• Objective: Learn exit processes and present the overall HRM lifecycle.
• Tasks:
• Role-play an exit interview and draft an exit process checklist.
• Groups present their complete HRM journey, showcasing key insights and
deliverables.
• Deliverables: Exit interview format, final presentation, and reflective report.
