Chapter I - Introduction
Background of the Paper
Water purification is a critical process for ensuring safe drinking water for human
consumption. This process involves removing contaminants, microorganisms, and other
impurities to make water suitable for specific uses. Various methods such as filtration,
sedimentation, and disinfection are commonly used worldwide.
Statement of the Problem
Access to clean water remains a pressing issue in many parts of the world. Contaminated
water can cause severe health issues, including waterborne diseases. This study explores
the techniques used in water purification to address these challenges.
Objectives
1. To understand different methods of water purification.
2. To study the practical applications of these methods.
3. To highlight the importance of clean water for health and wellbeing.
Methods
The study involves a review of literature on water purification techniques, including
filtration, reverse osmosis, and chlorination. The information has been gathered from
credible sources such as journals and reports.
Chapter II - Description and Analysis
This chapter provides a detailed description of various methods of water purification and
their applications. Theoretical and practical aspects of methods such as filtration, boiling,
distillation, and chemical treatment are discussed.
1. Filtration: A process where water passes through a filter medium to remove particles and
impurities.
2. Reverse Osmosis: A widely used method that involves forcing water through a semi-
permeable membrane to eliminate contaminants.
3. Boiling: A traditional method to kill bacteria and pathogens.
4. Chemical Treatment: Using chemicals like chlorine to disinfect water.
Chapter III - Conclusion
In conclusion, water purification is an essential practice to ensure the availability of safe
and clean drinking water. Understanding and implementing effective purification methods
can significantly reduce the risks associated with contaminated water.
