Course Title: Finite Element for Civil Engineers

Course Description: This course deals with fundamentals and concepts of finite element which includes
stiffness analysis, bar finite elements, finite elements of continua, triangular finite element for plane
elasticity and plate flexure, element formulation by Galerkin Method, rectangular finite element for plane
elasticity and plate flexure, and finite element applications. This course focuses on the solution of Civil
Engineering problems involving deformation and stresses in elastic bodies with simple and/or complex
configurations.
