Cloud Service Selection:

If you were the IT director at ABC Retail, which type of cloud service (public, private,
or hybrid) would you choose for the company? Provide a detailed explanation of your
choice, considering factors such as cost, security, and future scalability.

Cost: Hybrid cloud enables ABC Retail to do some changes to their working local server for all applications
that will be too costly to do migration in cloud will be proper costing basis. This decision will cost somewhere
by providing the latest features in the cloud.

Security - Private cloud used for private data means there is low chance for data leak as we heard many time
about cyber-attack. Company will have a power to access regarding security data. Public clouds for data are less
sensitive, but they require huge storage, but they will be more effective in storing data in the proper manner.

Scalability: Scalability will be a growth opportunity for the company in managing data security properly.
Hybrid migration allows for scalability without disrupting the current workflow. It requires hands-on experience
during high demand, such as website offers for sale, new opening forms, and exam results.

2. Data Migration Strategy:

Outline a step-by-step plan for migrating ABC Retail’s data to the cloud. How would you
ensure data integrity and minimize downtime during the process?

Step-by-Step Planning:

Data: Documents for all data and applications that are currently in use. The data is arranged in such a way that
there is no misplacement. It is also possible to do it in phases. Example company has 100 applications, so we
can divide them into 4 parts, 25 in each phase. Phase 1 will deploy 25 applications, phase 2 will deploy 25, and
phase 3 will deploy 25, which will help us to understand the migration process smoothly.

Preparation of Data Backup: We need to create a space where all the data can be saved for future use or in
case of errors.

Archive Data: Data should be archived for further reference. This means that some files or data require being
visible to the required user.

Practice of Migration: Create some dummy data for the testing purpose in same format.

Transfer Data: Migration should start once the downtime has been taken with all users, as none of the users are
the same application that we migrate. During holidays or after work hours is a good time to migrate.

Updating: It is possible for some individuals to take an update continuously on how the migration is
progressing in the same format as previously set.

After Migration: Verifying data validation with users can ensure that the data we migrate is accessible in the
same manner as it was before migration.

Approval: Have an approval for the same after migration its working proper
3. Software and Application Management:

How would you address the compatibility and customization needs of ABC Retail’s existing
applications when transitioning to the cloud? Would you recommend upgrading, replacing, or
customizing any of the software?

Compatibility: Existing applications can be compatible with the cloud environment if some applications didn't
work on the cloud, so we need to update them for the ones that are not working properly.

Upgrading and Replacing: If the application doesn't work properly, it should upgrade to compatible with the
cloud. If it's not able to update, we have to replace it with a cloud that is accessible.

Customizing: With cloud it may require some development and customization to get in same level of
applications because most of application is working some are not then will have to customize it.

4. Network and Security Planning:

Discuss the network infrastructure changes that ABC Retail should implement to support the
transition to the cloud. What specific security measures would you put in place to protect
sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance?

Internet Connectivity: Proper network bandwidth is necessary to access cloud interactions. Connecting with
the cloud and system requires all connections.

Security Measures: Nowadays, we use encryption to protect our data because if someone is able to breach it, it
can lead to data leakage.

Regulatory compliance: There are compliance requirements that are the same and need to be checked.

Response: Required monitoring for security reasons due to cyber-attacks and data breaches.

5. Employee Training and Adoption:

What training programs would you design to ensure a smooth transition for ABC Retail’s
employees? How would you handle resistance to change and ensure ongoing support for staff
after the transition?

Training Programs: Sessions should provide an overview of the new cloud system and its benefits. Training
should be at different levels for different functions, such as Junior, Manager, and Senior Manager, with practical
knowledge.

Support system: Have a team that knows everything about the migration part and some sets of documentation.
