Scene 1:

Alex is an honor student who experiences constant pressure from her family. She had always placed first
in her class but at this time, Alex was unable to maintain her rank, placing second in the list of class
achievers. This story begins with a scene where the family are having dinner and her mother confronts
her about the news from her school.

Mama: "Oh, Alex. Kumusta na result ng first grading? Balita ko hindi ka na raw Top 1."

Alex: "Ginawa ko naman lahat ng makakaya ko, Ma.

Mama: "Ginawa ang lahat"? Kung ginawa mo ang lahat, ikaw pa sana yung first sa klase ngayon! Iyon na
nga lang ang gagawin mo bilang isang palamunin dito, hindi mo pa magawa ng tama!

Alex: "Pasensya na po, Ma".

Mama: "Anong nangyari, ha? Umayos ka, Alex!!"

Alex: "Bakit parang kahit anong gawin ko, parang kulang pa rin sa'yo, Ma? Heto ngang mga kapatid ko ay
hindi naman class achievers, tambay pa, pero wala ka man lang nasasabi tungkol sa kanila? Anak mo rin
naman ako, Ma!"

[Alex angrily leaves the dining table]

Mama: "Aba! Sinasagot-sagot mo na 'ko?!"
