How to change color in crocheting:
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 6
IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
What is the size of the toy?
It TOTALLY depends on YOUR gauge and yarn weight, as well as the size
of the hook and even the crocheting technique (cross, checkmark or
mixed). I crocheted in "checkmark" method. In my case, the height of the
corgi is 16 cm.
How much yarn will be needed?
You will need the main (yellow) yarn 40-45 g of the skein, the additional color
(white) is enough 15-20 g. I used Wolans Bunny baby (color No.25) and
Himalaya Dolphin Baby (color No.301). If you are using yarn of another
brand, the consumption may vary.
About gauge
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you to use a hook size no larger than 3.5mm or
crochet tightly enough so that there are no holes and the toy looks professional.
About stuffing with fiberfill
Pay SPECIAL attention to the stuffing of the toy, as thanks to her, you give
shape, highlight the cheeks, tummy and other roundness. I stuff the toy
quite tightly (without fanaticism) except for pieces where it is not required
(for example arms, legs).
About singeing the ends of the thread
I recommend you lightly singe all the ends with a lighter to prevent the
plush fluff from flying in different directions from the end of the thread. This
prevents the plush from falling off the tip.

EARS
One ear consists of two parts, which will be connected.
First crochet 2 white pieces. Work in rows.
For convenience, I give a chart
and a description below
. - chain
- turning chain (t-ch)
- single crochet (sc)
- increase (inc)
R1. ch2, from the second chain on the hook: inc (2)
R2. t-ch, 1sc, inc (3)
R3. t-ch, 3sc (3)
R4. t-ch, 2sc, inc (4)
R5. t-ch, 4sc (4)
R6. t-ch, 3sc, inc (5)
R7. t-ch, 5sc (5)
Cut the yarn. Leave small ends on the white pieces.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 8
Next, crochet the gray pieces in the same way
as the white ones, BUT DO NOT CUT THE YARN.
Take one white part and apply it to the gray one one
top. Draw the working gray loop to the white side,
make ch1 and begin to connect the pieces with
single crochets (sc).
I RECOMMEND TO TAKE A SMALLER HOOK
SIZE, for example 2.5mm, it will be more convenient
to grab small loops of parts, but not work with this
hook tighter.
Work around the ear, in the corners crochet 2 sc in 1 stitch. In the tip of the
ear, crochet 3sc in 1 stitch.
You can hide the white yarn ends inside the ear, tucking them into a pocket
when connecting the parts. It is not necessary to stuff the ear with fiberfill. If
you plan to sew on the ears, then leave the long yarn end for sewing after
finishing the connection.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 9
Connect the parts of the second ear in the same way, just note that you get
the LEFT and RIGHT ears. Attach the parts to each other accordingly, so as
not to end up with 2 left or 2 right ears.
Please note, that the ears are shaped like triangles. Further, when
crocheting or sewing on the ears, in the photo I will mark the location of the
ears with the same blue triangle.
And I want to clarify right away that the ears can be both crocheted
into the head and sewn on. It's up to you, but I liked the result with the
ears sewn on better.
HEAD - single crochet
Start crocheting with white color.
R1. 5 ch, start in the second chain from the hook:
inc, 2sc, 3sc in the last chain,
3sc on the other side of the chain (10)
See the chart of this round

R2. 2inc, 2sc, 3inc, 2sc, inc (16)
R3-4. 16 sc (16) 2 rounds
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 10
3 sc inc ( ) - crochet 3sc in one stitch of the previous round.
Change color to yellow.
R5. Work in back loops: in yellow color: inc, (3 sc inc)*4,
in white color: 3 sc inc,
in yellow color: (3 sc inc)*4, inc, 5sc (36)
See the chart of this round:
R6-8. Yellow color: 15sc, white color: 2sc,
yellow color: 19sc (36) 3 rounds
Cut the white yarn and fasten off. Next, crochet only with yellow yarn.
R9-11. 36sc (36) 3 rounds
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 11
Insert safety eyes in round 5, where are the increases. Install eyes 16mm at
a distance of 13sc, counting from the eye legs. The photo shows the points
where we should insert the leg of the eye. If your eyes are 12 or 14 mm,
then the distance between the legs will be 11-12sc. Try on and install the
way you like best.
Before fixing the eyes, check whether they are
evenly located, focusing on the white stripe on
the forehead and nose.
Insert the nose in round 2 of the snout. Not in the
very center, where the foundation chain is, but a
little higher, on the border of rounds 1 and 2.
R12. Join the ears in this round.
7sc, 7sc with the ear, 6sc, 7sc with the ear, 9sc (36)
For convenience, you can mark with pins the places where you will crochet
the ears.
Photo of crocheted ears is already
on the finished head. The triangles
mark the location of the ears.
Check this round, the ears should be evenly spaced in relation to the eyes
and nose. If necessary, adjust the round, crochet again according to your
pattern.
If you can’t join the ears evenly, then don’t join them at all, sew them
separately when you complete the head (I, for example, prefer the
sewn version).
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 12
R13. (4sc, dec)*6 (30)
R14. (3sc, dec)*6 (24)
R15. (2sc, dec)*6 (18)
Stuff the head with fiberfill. With a little effort, push fiberfill with your
fingers into the muzzle so that it is convex. Pay attention to the cheeks,
pull the crocheted fabric to the sides and stuff these places well to make
the cheeks rounded.
R16. (1sc, dec)*6 (12) stuff the head completely
R17. 6dec (6)
Fasten off with sl st, cut the yarn, close up the hole with a needle.
LEGS (make 2)
White color.
R1. 6sc in MR or ch2, 6sc in the 2nd ch
from the hook (6)
R2. 6inc (12)
R3. (1sc, inc)*6 (18)
R4. (3sc, inc, 4sc, inc)*2 (22)

R7. 7sc, 6dec, 3sc (16)
R8. 4sc, 6dec (10)
R9. 10sc (10)
DO NOT crochet 1 sl st additionally.
Cut the yarn, fasten off.
Stuff slightly.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 13
ARMS (make 2)
Start crocheting with white color.
R1. 6sc in MR or ch2, 6sc in the 2nd ch from the hook (6)
R2. 6inc (12)
R3. 12sc (12)
R4. (4sc, dec)*2 (10)
R5. 8sc, dec (9)
R6. Change color to yellow. 9sc (9)
R7. (1sc, dec)*3 (6)
Do not stuff.
Fold in half and crochet 3sc through both sides.
Cut the yarn, fasten off.
Using a needle and a contrasting thread, divide
the fingers on the hands. First make a stitch in
the center of the palm, and then on the right
and left. Pull each stitch quite a bit. Tie both
ends of the thread in a knot and hide inside.
TAIL
R1. 6sc in MR or ch2, 6sc in the 2nd ch from the hook (6)
R2. (1sc, inc)*3 (9)
R3. inc, 8sc (10)
Do not stuff.
Fold in half and crochet 5sc through both
sides. Cut the yarn, fasten off.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 14
BODY
Start crocheting in white color, or, if desired, start with white textured yarn,
for example, Alize Softy Plus.
R1. ch8, start in the second chain from the hook:
inc, 5sc, 4sc in the last chain, 5sc, inc (18)
See the chart of this round
R2. 2inc, 5sc, 4inc, 5sc, 2inc (26)
R3. (1sc, inc)*2, 5sc, (1sc, inc)*4, 5sc, (1sc, inc)*2 (34)
Do not crochet the last stitch of round 3 to the end and change color to
yellow, and cut the white yarn and fasten off.
Take the legs and stretch them a little to the sides of the opening (the last
round of 10sc) so that the yarn end remains on the edge. As a result, we get
2 sides of the opening, on which 5sc.
5 SC
5 SC
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 15
R4. 19sc, 5sc with the leg, grabbing both sides of the last round of the leg,
3sc, 5sc with the second leg, 2sc (34)
Watch the video on crocheting legs
into the body using the link or QR code:

After the legs are joined, it is necessary to
distribute fiberfill inside the legs with the
toes so that they acquire the desired
shape and are the same. You can do this
action after you crochet the body to the
end.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 16
R5. Join the tail in this round. 6sc on the body, 5sc with the tail, 23sc on the
body (34)
R6. 17sc, dec, 13sc, dec (32)
R7. 32sc (32)
R8. 9sc, dec, 14sc, dec, 5sc (30)
R9. 30sc (30)
R10. (3sc, dec)*6 (24)
R11. 24sc (24)
R12. (2sc, dec)*6 (18)
R13. 18sc (18)
R14. Join the arms in this round: 10sc on the body, 3sc with the arm, 4sc on
the body, 1sc with the second arm (18)
R15. 2sc with the second arm, 3sc, 1sl st. Finish the round.
Check this round: the arms should be located exactly in relation to the legs. If
necessary, adjust the round, crochet again according to your pattern.
Crochet 2 extra sc, 1 sl st, cut the yarn, leaving a long end for sewing pieces.
Stuff the body with fiberfill.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 17
Using a needle and a contrasting thread, divide the toes on the legs. First
make a stitch in the center of the foot, and then on the right and left. Pull
each stitch quite a bit. Tie both ends of the thread in a knot and hide inside.
Optionally, using chenille yarn and a suitable needle, embroider the pads.
Butt Needle Sculpting
Take a suitable needle and strong thread.
Insert a needle with a thread, as shown in the first photo, exit it through and
again insert it as well. Now pull the ends and check whether the tightening is
even.
After that, simultaneously pull the ends and tie several knots under the tail,
right in the place where the needle was originally inserted. Fix the thread and
hide in the body.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 18
ASSEMBLY
Start from the face needle sculpting. Take a needle that is suitable in length
and a nylon thread (or any other strong thread). The stronger you make the
tightening, the more the cheeks of the toy will stand out.
Watch the video tutorial on how to make
needle sculpting at the link or QR code:
https://youtu.be/Ykl4zL3acgk
Insert the needle between rounds 4 and 5 at point A and exit through point
B, under the eye, then insert at point C, next to the eye, and exit through
point D, next to the other eye, then insert the needle at point E, under the
eye, and return to point F. In the photo below, the arrows indicate the
direction of the needle.
1 2 3
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 19
Take both threads, pull each end and at the same time press your fingers on
the eyes so that the tightening is properly formed. When you like the look of
the snout, secure the threads by tying a couple of knots and hide the ends
inside the head.
BEFORE needle sculpting AFTER needle sculpting
Forehead stripe correction
If you want to get a clearer stripe on the puppy's forehead, you can correct
the bumps with white yarn. You need to make stitches in the right places.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 20
Tongue and Lip
Also, if desired, you can make a lip and tongue for the toy.
Make 3-4 stitches with pink yarn, grabbing 2 sc with a needle.
Next, insert the hook next to the tongue, grab the white yarn, crochet ch3-4
and attach on the other side of the tongue with a sl st. Fix the ends and hide
inside the head.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 21
Embroider whites of the eyes
Use chenille white yarn and a suitable needle (I have a short plastic one).
Make a stitch at the bottom of the eye.
Embroider eyelids, eyebrows and a mouth
Use 4ply yarn Yarnart Jeans and suitable needle.
Watch the video tutorial on face
decoration at the link or QR code:
https://youtu.be/dforUibGsvs
Optionally, you can embroider pink
cheeks. Take a needle and pink
chenille yarn.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 22
Sew on the ears
Sew the ears at the level of rounds 12 and 13 of the head at a distance of 5-6
sc. You can also sew on the ears in a different position, at a smaller or larger
distance than mine.
Fix the ears with pins to outline an even location. For sewing, I used the
remained threads after crocheting the ear.
Designer Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys 23
Sew the head to the body.
Outline the even location of the head with two knitting needles. Fix the
head so that the neck line is very close to the place where the muzzle was
tightened (see photo). Sew with the remaining yarn tail from the body or
with any other strong thread.
Strengthen the neck area by stuffing with fiberfill.
Embroider the fur chest with a needle and faux fur yarn. I used
Himalaya Koala.
