conductor as per IS.
3.18 The lightning protection system shall be integrated
with the Plant earthing system.
3.19 Down conductors from shielding wires/Air
terminations shall be as short as possible and shall
follow the most direct path possible between the
air termination and earth termination avoiding
sharp bends, upturns and kinks.
3.20 Joints shall be avoided in down conductors as far
as possible.
3.21 Each down conductor shall have an independent
earth termination which shall be interconnected
with the station earth mat.
3.22 All building having concrete roof shall be protected
against lightning strike lightning.
3.23 Down conductor shall follow most direct path
possible between air termination and earth
electrode avoiding sharp bends and kinks.
3.24 Check that Lightning Conductors shall not pass
through or run in GI conduits. All metallic
structures within a vicinity of 2000mm in air will be
bonded to the conductors of lightning system.
3.25 Check whether all metallic projections, chimneys,
ducts, ventilation pipes, railing gutters etc. on or
above the main surface of the roof shall be
properly bonded to the air termination
network. However, gas pipes shall in no case
be bonded with this network.
