In this pattern we use US terminology. size may differ from mine.

NOTES
Using this pattern you will crochet a cute Elephant.
There are two options for clothes in this pattern - crocheted and knitted.
The toy pieces are crocheted in continious non-joing rounds.
This pattern doesn’t include any crochet lessons. You must know how to
crochet main stitches.
Change color in the last stitch of a round, befor you start the round with a new
color.
Stuff the pieces as you go.
Skill level - medium.
Finished toy measures about 20 cm (7,87) when using the
recommended materials and hook sizes (without a cap).
My stitches have a semi X-shape. If your stitches have V-shape, then your
toy will be bigger.
The legs and the arms are attached using thread jointing. The clothes is
removable.

Sew the trunk under the round 16.
Make special needle sculpting for the eyes.
Use the thread of the main color. Using a needle, insert the thread into the hole
on the head, bring it out at point 1, insert it at point 2 and bring it out at point 3,
insert it at point 4 and bring it out into the hole on the head.
Tighten the ends of the threads well and fix them with a knot. Pic. 13, 14.
Embroider the trunk straps with sewing thread
above rnds 5, 7, 9 (count the rnds from the top).

Embroider the eyebrows with sewing thread

Cut the grey thread into 3 pieces with the length of 6 cm. Attach the first hair
strand above the second round at the head center. The next hair strands are
attached behind the first one. Brush the hair, fasten off the thread ends, leaving 1,5

Toy assembly

Sew the head to the body, having fixed it with pins. The color changing line is located
at the body side. This will help us to hide this line under the arm.
Add stuffing to the space between the body and the head while sewing. So the head
would be fixed much better. Pic. 25, 26.

Thread jointing of arms

1. Mark the points for arms attaching. I 2. Insert the needle into the toy back,

over (fold the thread in half), make chain 5, secure the thread, and fasten off.

Knitted shorts
For shorts knitting we will need yarn (I used YarnArt Jeans, color 84), circular
knitting needles №3,5 straight needles (3 pc), a stitch marker, a crochet hook,
scissors. For strap: yarn YarnArt Jeans, color 63. The shorts are knitted in rounds.
Abbreviations
st, sts - stitch, stitches (…) - amount of stitches in row
k – knit (…) x times – repeat the instructions in
p - purl brackets x times
p2tog - purl two together
k2tog - knit two together
The shorts are knitted in “garter” stitch.
(When garter stitch knitting, we need to alternate knit and purl rounds.)
Cast on 44 sts, divide them into two
knitting needles, 22 sts on each needle,
join in a circle.

needles №3,5, a bell for decor. Knit the cap using circular needles.
